Gave it a 5 star because it is worth what it's value is. I have been using it the whole season last year. It has been consistent in performance. One note for new buyers is that please do remember to charge before use, it does not hold charge well. But if you charge before use, it will give you 20-30 minute run time depending on your grass thickness. Overall happy with the purchase.

This battery exceeds the performance of the OEM battery - granted that battery has seen quite a few cycles.

It is an exact replacement & 100% compatible for a Greenworks 40 volt battery & 40 volt charger. It is about 1/3 the cost of an authentic GW battery. I have used it once, in my snowblower, and it worked fine. Unknown how long it will last. This summer will tell that story as I will use it in my lawn mower. The reason for 4 stars is due to unknown longevity.

Bought it in May 2025. It worked great. It's now April 2026 and it's completely dead. Won't power up at all. Buy it for one season only. Four stars for how it worked initially - minus three for how it works now.

Battery is 6 amp. It’s supposed to last longer than my original 5 amp battery, it does not even last half that time. Other issue is the battery shows that it still has half life/charge left in it when you check the battery. But the mover won’t start. I also tried with self propel since it take less power and it behaves the same way. Update: Seller was prompt on contacting me and was willing to fix the issue. They send me a new battery and that worked as expected. It holds charge and works as good as my original green works battery. It’s good to see a company stand by their product. Updating my rating from 1 start to 5 as the seller fixed the issue and the battery works as expected.

Worked great in my 40V lawnmower with self propulsion, seems to have the same capacity / runtime as the OEM 5ah battery so that represents a significant savings compared to buying oem. Just slots right in and works on both the mower and charger just as easy as OEM! Charges in similar time to OEM 5ah, seems to weigh a little less though.

Is NOT compatible with the Strikemaster 40V.

This battery lasted 4 cycles and then would not charge anymore. When it did work, the capacity will about half that of a 4 Ah Greenworks battery. I may have received a defective battery so have a look at other reviews to see if there is a trend or not, but for my money it was not a good purchase!

I just bought it & it will not take a charge!! Total waste of money! NO STARS!
