Knee brace
I am 62. After 40 years of hard work, riding motorcycles, quads, boats, fork lifts, and heavy equipment. Hines start hurting. Mu knees have been abused from riding and working, to the point that when they start hurting it can get bad. I don’t want to have knee surgery, that just makes it worse, so IHave a high quality knee brace I use to make my life easier. This brace has two adjustable supports to align my knee and keep it straight. The compression it gives allows me to walk normally without pain. It allows me to remain active and unloads the joint enough to reduce inflammation and allow my knee to heal. I have used other braces in the past, this one works for me.

Immediate relief and knee-stability
I suffer from knee pain and meniscus strain. I get severe pain, particularly on my right knee, when doing extensive leg work. When I received these braces and tried them on I was beyond impressed with the immediate stability and support provided. I was able to go back to normal workouts almost immediately and have far less discomfort the next day. I thought the plastic spines on the sides were going to be a gimmic, but they actually prove worthwhile and not cumbersome like metal hinges. Most importantly, these do not slide around the knee like other brands I've used (I have 3 other knee braces from a local drug store/amazon, including strap and open knee designs). These braces blow those completely out of the water. Only minor complaint is that they are a bit snug at first but did loosen up pretty quickly. 100% will buy again if/when they wear out.

Good for my needs
I broke a kneecap and fracture an ankle, and the surgeon required a skeletal type external brace that when setup and on my leg limits my movement to about one percent from zero for both extension and flexion movement. The knee needs to be at zero but a small amount (approx. one percent is acceptable since absolute zero is basically impossible without a cast, However, that is while walking.) Sleeping or laying down is another matter and the skeletal type brace is next to impossible to sleep with. Therefore this type of brace was recommended for SLEEPING only. Once setup, which takes forever by one person but is doable. That's just for the fitting of the two pieces to the knee/legs. For those pins? They are as slippery as ice and getting the two extension pins into the 0 locations are a lot harder than shown in the video; it took sometime but finally getting them snapped down is possible. The bottom pins on one unit would not snap all the way down as the other pins, but did work to keep the metal from moving and the top had the room to snap into place. (Would have loved for the top heads of the pins to have had two flat spots opposite of each other to allow for a small narrow needle nose pliers to latch on to for insertion vs. fat human fingers.) With all settings to zero I'm guessing due to the neoprene the unit allows about 5-10 percent movement. This is acceptable since the knee has no weight applied while laying in bed and stop any excessive movement. Wearing for just one night, my knee felt a lot better when getting up vs. the previous nights without a brace and the movement of the knee during the night. It is quite comfortable to wear, but even just standing it does not want to remain in place that well, wanting to slide down, so not sure how this would be used for walking unless the two straps are tightened to the point it could affect blood flow. However, I have not tried walking with it and that is only a guess. If it helps get this kneecap healed it is well worth the price.

Hinge cover is very loose
I just received this brace today. At first, it was a little difficult to put on and adjust, you’ll have to play around with it to figure out how it works, as there are no instructions. I’m 5’6 about 140 lbs and the brace is a little big but still doable. Overall, it felt pretty sturdy at first. The reason for the 1 star is because the cover for the adjustable part of the hinges falls off very easily, leaving the adjustable pins exposed and can easily pop out of place which makes this brace unsafe.

Not snug
Ok for someone that isn't looking for much support. This does not get as snug as my old one as its not a stretchy neoprene that you can pull tight before attaching velcro. I like the lock out mechanism and the fact that they attach the pins together so you don't have to worry about losing one when adjusting. This isn't a bad brace, just won't fit my needs as its not secure enough for me to do normal activities. I'm 5'5" and about 210lbs, with thick legs (years of weightlifting).

It works!
I purchased this brace after I tore some ligaments in my knee and a friend who used this brace recommended it. It is tricky to set up and it comes with NO directions to explain how to make the adjustments work for your situation. Accordingly, I had my physical therapist make the proper adjustments for my knee problem and it works extremely well. The brace keeps my knee stable when walking and the brace is comfortable to wear. I recommend this brace for unstable knees, but get a professional to make the adjustments for you.

Angle stops on the hinge are almost useless, as the brace fabric just deforms around them.
Unlike the Neenca ACE-42 brace, which I rate very highly, this Neenca ACE-49 brace has been a disappointment. I bought this specifically because it has adjustable range-of-motion stops. I planned to wear it while walking, to prevent my knee from mildly hyper-extending (i.e., going past straight). However, the locking hinges are almost useless: the pins do restrain the hinges from rotating past target angles, but the arms are attached to the neoprene brace itself in super-flimsy pockets that just deform, without stopping your actual knee from bending. Two poor pictures attached: the 1st shows the hinge set with a maximum straightness of 60degrees, while the 2nd shows me extending my knee to perfectly straight with those hinge limits, and the hinge pockets just deforming around the hinges. Note this was with the brace as tight as could be -- as the hinge pockets deform, they eventually cause the brace to loosen and move around.
