Matt Damon returns to his most iconic role in Jason Bourne. Paul Greengrass, the director of The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, once again joins Damon for the next chapter of Universal Pictures' Bourne franchise, which finds the CIA's most lethal operative drawn out of the shadows. Damon is joined by Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Tommy Lee Jones, while Julia Stiles reprises her role in the series.Bonus Content:Bringing Back BourneBourne To FightThe Athens EscapeLas Vegas Showdown Review: Good movie - Good movie Review: A 5-star film, full of over-the-top action sequences - I've read all of Robert Ludlum's Jason Bourne novels and very much enjoyed them. I've also seen all of the Jason Bourne movies and, yeah, I very much enjoyed them as well. Including this one. That said, it must be stressed that Ludlum's Jason Bourne character and Matt Damon's version of that same character are NOT cut from the same cloth. That's not surprising since we all know that no movie can capture the intricacies of plot and character that a book can. It's, in fact, unrealistic to assume that films adapted from novels are going to be faithful to the original text. (Even "The Maltese Falcon," widely recognized as being one of the most faithful adaptations of a novel, isn't completely so.) The changes in the story are obvious, though not surprising given the different mediums at play in telling it. To begin with, Ludlum's version gets married and the man who "created" him winds up as his ally after realizing the error of his ways. That doesn't happen in the movie versions and there are probably some good reasons for that. Whether there are or not, however, is not a basis for argument because, again, films and novels are different animals altogether. Okay, now that we've cleared that up, let me say that the film franchise gives viewers - most of whom have probably not read the novels - a cinematic hero that is a deeply conflicted loner. In this latest installment of the franchise. Damon's version of the iconic character is older, more battle-scarred, and - if possible - even more of a loner than he's been in the last two films. There is no indication that he's going to change any time soon because he's suffered too much betrayal and tragedy in his life to ever really trust anyone other than himself. The result: We have an action-oriented character who is not painted as a deep thinker. Because that's true I don't believe it's altogether fair to criticize the narrative for staying true to that character. Damon's version of Bourne is not a schemer, not a plotter, and doesn't have an overwhelming desire to "set things right" in the world. He just wants to make it through another day. As a result, the movie versions are - and should be - action oriented rather than plot oriented. "Jason Bourne" is no exception to that rule and if the action sequences seem over the top and unrealistic my point is that no one should be surprised by that fact. In truth, they should be surprised - and disappointed - if they are not. Director Paul Greengrass does a nice job of moving what is a long movie along at a fast pace. He is a sure-handed director and that is evident in this movie. The technical crew that worked with him on this film is also first rate as evidenced by the fact that the action sequences reflect a great deal of thought and preparation. The cast is also excellent. There are some critics who have said that casting Alicia Vikander as the female lead is a bad choice because she appears so young - especially in those scenes with Tommy Lee Jones as the CIA director - but I think that's also unfair. Throughout the movie she is painted as a member of the new, young, impatient and techno savvy cadre of the spy agency. Because of that, I think she's a fine choice for the role. Damon and Vincent Cassel, are excellent as Bourne and the mysterious killer known only as "The Asset" but I would single out Julia Stiles - reprising her role as Nikki Parsons - for her exceptional work in the film. She doesn't have a lot of screen time but she makes the absolute most of the time she has. Stiles appears older, more weathered in this film. That's in keeping with the fact she is no longer a CIA employee but someone that has decided she can no longer support its goals and lives off the grid as a result. I found her performance to be nicely nuanced. It comes down to this: "Jason Bourne" is an action flick and there is plenty of that. If you are a fan of the franchise, i think you'll find it as satisfying as I did.

Jason Bourne Climax Finale (will the rear Jason Bourne please stand up)
I never go into deep detail on movie review's. Everyone has a opinion if it's good or not worth watching. I have the Bourne Trilogy which I received for Christmas. Was a bit surprise since it was from my Wife & she doesn't like any Bourne Movie. With that said, I was fine with viewing them alone. But I was disappointed when part 4 came out with a different actor. I'm sure it was a good movie, but I have yet to enjoy any movie part 2, series etc. When they change actor's or the actor just refuses to be in it. (Only exception was The Crow) Taken right off the DVD Cover "This is the Best Bourne yet"! The Timeline continues with some New Face's & some familiar face's in Casting. Fast pace as with all the Bourne Movie's & plenty of action to keep you drawn to the screen. If you enjoyed the first three of the series, then I have no doubt your a Bourne Fanatic like myself & will enjoy this Action Base Finale as I did. If your new to the Bourne Movie's, My best advice is to purchase the first 3 before this one. And not because the movie will not carry its self alone, but it would be like watching Star Wars in reverse. The psychology of the series would be off especially with the extreme ride you receive starting with the original Bourne Idenity. I personally think Matt Damon himself felt incomplete by not putting a final touch on Jason Bourne, since he didn't star in what was to be the finale & just had to return & make this movie. I hope you all enjoy taking one more extreme ride as Matt Damon, Aka Jason Bourne put's balance back in order & we all get one last look into the life of the Charactor that Damon delivered to us in a unique fashion & with style. I can still think back & recall waiting for Bourne Identity to be on the shelf @ my locale video store. Time sure has change when it comes to receiving entertainment. I would not be happy streaming this one. Some multiple part series just have to be owned. And this is one of them.

Good
Jason Bourne is the fifth, and likely final, movie in the Bourne franchise. It saw the return of Matt Damon as the titular Jason Bourne and Julia Stiles as Nicky Parsons, after the Bourne Legacy with Jeremey Renner and Rachel Weisz underperformed. The style of the movie is much like the others in the franchise with Bourne seeking answers about the Treadstone program and trying to evade government agents sent this time by Tommy Lee Jones' character Robert Dewey, the current director of the CIA, who is another in the long cavalcade of agents who have tried to take down Bourne. As is the case with all of the other movies, there is a ton of good action, and the requisite chase sequence, which is again the highlight of the action. For those who get the blu-ray set, the A/V quality is very good and there are a decent amount of extras. Those include seven making-of and behind-the-scenes featurettes ranging from about four and a half minutes to just under nine minutes. Overall, the movie is good, but really nothing all that different from what we have seen in the other movies. It would have been very nice had there been a team-up between Bourne and Renner's character Aaron Cross, but unfortunately, because of Renner's MCU commitments, that was not meant to be. This movie feels like it could be the final movie in the series, but it ends in a way that another movie could be made at some point. The supporting cast in this movie is very good and, besides Jones, includes Alicia Vikander as Heather Lee, head of the CIA Cyber Ops Division, and Vincent Cassel as an assassin sent after Bourne. I would say, in general, if you have enjoyed the other movies, you will probably like this one, especially with Damon reprising the Bourne character. If, however, you did not like the earlier movies or felt they were getting stale, this one is not likely to change your mind.

Jason Bourne 2016, DVD, with bonus features, including "Bringing Back Matt Damon as Bourne"; and a download of the film to watch - don't know if that has expired, or still works. Used, condition as described. No delivery issues. Upscales well. I saw this at the cinema, when released, found it underwhelming, and forgot all but the " one punch" fight at the beginning of the film. I bought this as heavily discounted, and i have the other 4, which were also cheapos. I recently watched the first Bourne,"Identity", in which I just couldn't face JB 🛟 floating in the sea, fished out, operated on, due to some bullet perforations; and his "Who am I?" and "Why can't I remember anything useful" tantrums! So, skillful use of the menu had me start this first film after he has been turfed off the fishing boat, paid to leave, and is walking in the rain, getting a soaking in his red padded jacket. What a difference that "editing made!" I thoroughly enjoyed the film more than the previous viewings, on my bargain blu ray edition; even the Mrs said it was a good film, who had been difficult in giving the ok for us to watch it, as she could only remember she didn't like it; a rare win for me ! Well, this outing, number 4, has the same problem; what a drag! The seconds long desert fight, mooching about, bit of fight clubbing, 🤦❗Then young JB finds a note from Nicky Parsons, to meet him, and it's thriller time! I tested my "how to" theory on vastly improving a film, by getting to that menu, clicked on Scenes, and, after some consideration of misleading photos for scenes 1-4, I picked Scene 5. Bingo! "Adrienne" as our other hero would shout! Bourne walking to meet up with Nicky Parsons, being tracked by agency goons; as well as "the asset", angrily thrashing his rolling Golf Mk5 whatever, like a lawn mower; as Jase and Nicky end up sharing a police motorbike Jase "took" from it's rightful rider! Full marks, thereon; sound thrashings, and top class action set pieces! If only we still had VHS - I could have spliced from the end of the beginning titles, to the end of Scene 4, and Jason on his way to see Nicky P. Achieved 5⭐s, for sub 3€ price, condition, and quick delivery. Film recommended, anyway, as is not based on a comic, or computer game, and IS a decent sequel. "Legacy" & "Ultimatum" remain the best for me. (I haven't watched the bringing back of Mr Damon as Bourne, yet, but I will be surprised if it confirms the research I did before Jeremy Renner starred in The Bourne Legacy. Although director Paul Greengrass did well with "The Bourne Supremacy", and it's sequel "Ultimatum", his " The Green Zone" was a huge failure, that cost studio Universal around US$50 million, maybe plus promotions, and they didn't like the taste of that size of loss! So Mr. Greengrass was informed that he would not be directing the next Jason Bourne film. In what I feel is admirable, especially by film industry standards, but misguided loyalty, and having an adverse affect on his career, Mr. Damon declined to play Jason Bourne again, unless Paul Greengrass was the director. That was Mr Damon's position for a number of years, and so Jeremy Renner was chosen for "The Bourne Legacy"; and he certainly looked fitter, and was more energetic in his part, especially in the freezing, mountainous, outdoors. Sadly, as Legacy did not earn as much as "Ultimatum", Mr Renner was not asked back. The stalemate remained between Mr Damon, and Universal - No Paul Greengrass, no Matt Damon, and no new JB Bourne film, pending interventions and negotiations.....until 2016!)
