KILLREAL Women's Polka Dot Retro Vintage Style Cocktail Party Swing Dress

Bought this dress on a hope and a prayer - hoping it would be fabulous and praying it arrived in time for a date night with my husband to the ballet. Both came true. The dress does run small but I had read previous reviews and chose up in size. I'm 5'5", 189 lbs, apple shaped body, lacking in the cleavage area, shoulders of a line backer LOL In real life I wear a 12/14. In this dress I bought a XXXL. UPS brought the dress and I immediately opened it and tried it on. Fit was perfect, room to grow in the bust though. As previous users described, there were some hanging threads and extra serger stitching that was easy to trim. The dress is made of 95% cotton and a small amount of spandex - the wrinkles from being folded and in a bag, were cumbersome. I ended up ironing on the wrong side of the material and had to use spray starch. There was no time to figure out a way to pin the bodice but I think it bothered me more than it being inappropriate in public. I did pair it with the Modern Kiwi Solid Long Sleeved Bolero Shrug Top since the dress is sleeveless, it was perfect. I also bought Tidetell Vintage Women's 50's Petticoat Crinoline Tutu Underskirt 26", this perfected the look of the dress nicely. Both items I added on were purchased from Amazon. I loved this dress so much, I'm going to buy another in a different pattern.

This is a beautiful dress. Good quality, but not thick material. Perfect fit. I paired it with a body suit that has puffy sleeves. I would buy this again.

My measurements are; Bust-49 Waist-38 The measurements for this dress are; 3X- Bust-44.4-46 Waist-37.4-38.9 4X- Bust-46.4-48 Waist-39.4-40.9 The 3X fits like a glove, with a little extra room in the waist even. A person ordering this based on the provided measurements would find that the dress would be far too large to fit properly. Let's say you have a 44" bust and a 37" waist, so you order the 3X...the bust is going to be 4-5" too large and the waist is going to be 2-3" too large. According to the measurements, I really should've ordered the 4X, but it's HUGE on me. It looks like I'm a child playing in my mother's clothing. On top of that, the reviews say "Fits true to size, order usual size"...but hello? What? I wear an XL in most clothing, MAYBE a 2X in something I want to be really loose...I've legitimately never in my life purchased anything in a 3X, so the sizing is absolutely not true to size. You need to order 1-2 sizes larger than you normally would buy, but at least a size smaller than the size chart tells you to buy. That's confusing as heck, if you ask me. Now, all that said, the dress is adorable. The skirt is heavy weight and the manufacturing seems acceptable for most purposes. I don't know that I'd toss it in the dryer once a week, but it doesn't seem to be the type of material that would shrink easily...still, I'll likely hang it to dry. It did arrive wrinkled because it's folded, but then shoved into a plastic bag for mailing. I'm guessing the wrinkles will come out with a good steaming. I noticed another review said the buttons on the bodice weren't sewn on well, and that matches my opinion. The end of the thread on one is loose, and they're also slightly off center, so I think I'm just going to clip the threads and resew them centered and tightly. Overall, it's hard to find a decent dress for $20-30 in ANY style, and this is a specific style, so I think if you can work out which size to buy, it's a good purchase.

This dress is very nice! I love old fashioned dresses! I wear this to work, and dinners! The cloth material isn't very stretchy, and it wrinkles easy if you don't hang it right away. I did read the previous reviews to upsize a few, and I'm glad I did! Normally I'm a Lg, but I went with a 2x and it fits perfectly! Love this dress!

I got this for a holiday party.based on other reviews, i bought the biggest size because people said it ran small. Im not a busty gal, so when I got this, the chest area was way too big, as was the waist area. I honestly could have sized down a size and it would have fit perfectly. The material is cheap feeling, and it holds wrinkles forever, but it looks cute, especially with the petticoat. Good for a one night event, but I would not purchase any variation of this item again.

I normally don’t do this kind of thing but this is absolutely unacceptable. The dress that arrived was completely WRONG in so many ways, that it matches the display photos in aesthetic only. If I could give 0 stars, I would because this is absolutely unacceptable. I read the reviews at first and I was very optimistic because the display photos show the aesthetic that I’m trying to go for with my character, however I was sorely mistaken by actually believing it could come out good. As a drag performer, I know a good quality garment when I see one and this is anything but. The material feels like those cheap sheets you can buy at family dollar for like $2.50, where as the display photos and description make it seem like it would be a soft and elegant fabric. The overall cut is absolutely atrocious and barely resembles what one could call a dress, it’s more like an over embellished smock or muumuu. The quality of this garment is very poor and seems to have been slapped together like some last minute middle school project. It looks NOTHING like the photos displayed on Amazon. The waist line? WRONG! The arm holes and shoulder area? WRONG! The way it flares out at the bottom in the photos? Non existent and laughable! It also arrived severely wrinkled to the point where I’m not sure I’ll be able to repair it, the wrinkles in the shoulder area always shrink back into their wrinkled state no matter how hard I try to get it to stay put. Even outside third parties that I’ve shown side by side comparisons of the display photos vs what arrived agree that it’s not what’s being advertised at all. If I didn’t need this for work it would go straight into the trash. I shouldn’t have to find a way to fix a garment that I just bought because of how negligible the description of it is, as well as how awful the cuts are. I’m extremely disappointed in this purchase and will certainly never order from this seller again, and will definitely be cautioning others to stay away as well. SAVE YOUR MONEY! DON’T BUY THIS!!!!

Adorable. Just love it. Thicker "cotton" feel of fabric. Not flimsy. Which I prefer. It does wrinkle with wear, but I just starch it to last throughout my day when I'm prepared.

Mine just arrived; ordered with 2-day shipping! Needed a Kentucky Derby Party dress and hat for this weekend. It is a perfect fit. 117# and 5'4" ordered a small. Even out of the bag all folded up, it still fits perfectly. Although I only was thinking a fun party dress for a vintage Kentucky Derby Party, I may just wear it to my Mother's Day brunch with my Mom and sisters. Rather fun and festive. I will take a photo after I have the full effect of hat, shoes and polka dot stockings. I have to admit, I was a little worried since the reviews are all over the place. I think this dress was made for a smaller frame, and that might be why it fit me. The buttons that many complained about fit right where they should under my bustline. The zipper - so far - looks good! Material is soft, not stiff - I am sure it will wrinkle like crazy if I sit. I did not buy the slip. Ok I added my photo. Very fun dress. Perfect for the Kentucky Derby Party. Ironed easily on cotton setting. Did not need a slip. Surprised how many people I didn’t even know commented how cute it was. Very comfortable to wear. And it really didn’t wrinkle up bad even after driving in it!

Seem authentic, seen the same dress in rockabilly stores for twice the price and the material seems the same. It’s definitely heavy cotton, holds its shape well after washing. A crinoline underskirt would make it super flattering
