Works very well
I can't recommend this enough. It really keeps the goofy squirrels out of the bird seed. It is very well made, albeit expensive. My only complaint, is that for the price, I wish it came with a rain shield over the top.

Wow. Wish I bought it earlier.
REMINDER: If youโre new to having bird feeders, CLEAN feeders every two weeks and donโt mix older seed with new to avoid feeding rancid seed or food thatโs come in contact with feces which can cause parasitic conditions and avian conjunctivitis and spread via feeders also making birds more susceptible to predation and starvation. If you see a bird with abnormal eyes or body size take down feeders, throw away seed, wash feeder thoroughly, wait a week before putting back up. 2nd UPDATE: Things iโve learned with adding the twig perch; the extra perch makes it easier for mourning doves to sit on feeders, I adjusted the weight so the ports closed, will see if that keeps them off. I love seeing birds hop around the added perch and they regularly use it to crack seeds or face outwards on lookout before hopping back toward the feeder for more. 1st UPDATE: The feeder so nice, I purchased it twice - or rather I was so impressed with this feeder i also purchased the Standard size, and frankly, if the Standard were the first feeder i ever had I probably never would have sought out any others. There is a decent size difference between the Standard and Legacy but both are decently sized. Iโve noticed birds using the โtwig ringโ to help break seed/nut shells too as you can see in the video. Cardinal approved though he hates being spied on so Iโve proof they visit, but canโt tell you how often. Squirrels have seen me at the window and behave so Iโve yet to see the squirrel proofing. I wish it didnโt swivel/spin so easily but the birds get used to it and i gather it helps shake squirrels off. Original review: Feels so much larger in real life than i anticipated. Pretty soon after deciding to ever get a bird feeder i had to abandon the cute wooden house style ones - very charming but very easy for squirrels to feed from. If it came in black, I probably would have bought it earlier - but iโm honestly much happier with the green anyway. Iโve gone through 6 other bird feeders trying to find something that would keep the squirrels at bay but good for birds and still look good. Out of the box i was really impressed by the quality of this feeder and ease of use. There are three seed compartment dividers inside the plastic tube that i wasnโt expecting but very much appreciate. I like having blue jays visit too so happy that you can adjust it and the instructions make it super clear/easy. Hopefully not the mourning doves though. But Iโve noticed that cardinals prefer hopper styles feeders so I cut two flexible twigs from a tree and used grocery bag twists to make a 360 degree perch. Loved it so much i had to write a review now but will update with any news.

GREAT!
I installed this yesterday--it was easy--and so far it works really well! The squirrels won't even go near the thing. They approach, take a few sniffs, and hop away. Better yet, the birds LOVE it! It's as if they somehow know that it's secure. No, the product ain't cheap, but in the long run it's cheaper than buying multiple crappy feeders that the squirrels manage to break...to say nothing of what you spend on stolen or spilled seed! You get what you pay for. UPDATE: A month later and the squirrels haven't been able to touch it!

Squirrel proof, but not grackle proof unless modified!
This is a great medium sized feeder. Seems well built, easy to fill, and easy to adjust the tension. I have a few Painted Buntings that immediately flocked to this feeder with Audubon Shell Free mixed bird seed. The squirrels tried for a few days and eventually gave up. I thought I had won the fight... Until the grackles showed up! Don't get me wrong, I like grackles and want them around... But they can empty this feeder in less than a day. I have the larger Squirrel Buster Plus set up for the larger birds. I watched the Grackles for a bit and figured out they were landing with one foot in the feeding tray and one on the weight sensitive perch. This prevented the feed port from closing. So I looked around online for ideas and came up with a DIY solution. Bought some PVC coated hardware cloth (wire mesh) and wrapped it around the feeder. This prevented the grackles and Jay's from being able to land on any part of the feeder that was not weight sensitive. I cut out sections around the feed port so the smaller birds could get seed. I'm sure Brome could modify this feeder to have a wider diameter cage that would prevent the larger aggressive birds from grasping onto the feed tray. Until then, this will do. See included photos for visual reference. If you plan on trying this mod, cut the mesh long enough for the bottom to tuck beneath the outer cage and above the roof of the feeder. I used wire on top, but one extra section of mesh could be bent around the roof to secure it from sliding down.

It really does work
Thud! That is is sound of a heavy squirrel falling off the feeder and hitting the porch. What a nice sound. I use Kaytee Nut & Fruit seed in the feeder with no issues. There are three internal seed storage channels and one channel always empties first, but does not bother the birds. It is easy to clean. The feeder comes with a nice fold-out with squirrel and various bird weights. I played with the adjustable spring tension, but find the original factory setting is just fine for song and woodpecker birds. My Google Pixel 9 Pro (at about 9 ounces) placed on one landing bracket lowers the outer tube and shields the feeding ports. Cardinals can weigh up to 4 ounces each, so a male and female landing at the same time might require a tension adjustment (not happened yet).

It works and it holds up to black bear!
Iโve had this a year and a half and it works great. Recently a bear found it and has ripped it off the Shepard hook twice. One time he got into it, the second time he wasnโt able to but despite the bears best efforts the feeder held up strong and is still in use. Very well made and worth the cost.

Finally
Finally! I live in Denver, where apparently this squirrel is a protected species. I have attempted numerous birdfeeders over the years. This is the only one that has worked without creating a huge mess and attracting mice. I cannot recommend this product enough!

It really is squirrel proof
This bird feeder is truly squirrel proof. I have bought many so-called squirrel proof feeders in the past and ended up returning them because they donโt really work. This one actually works exactly as advertised. There is also a lifetime warranty. Itโs seems pricey , but the money saved on bird seeds wasted on squirrels makes up for it. I definitely recommend it.

Excellent bird feeder, even better customer service from Brome Bird ๐
This bird feeder does appear to be squirrel proof: I witnessed many squirrels accessing previous feeders, but have not once seen a squirrel at this feeder. However, I had a black bear mum and cub take down and empty this feeder ๐ณ which meant I had to replace the hanger section. I reached out to Brome Bird for a replacement part, and I cannot say enough good things about their outstanding customer service! (Going forward, my bird feeder comes in the house for the night!)

Great Quality and Squirrel Resistant
Itโs made from durable materials, allows birds to reach every seed easily, and even features a squirrel-resistant design.

Works very well
It a very good product. It does prevent squirrels from getting to the seeds. My only complaint is that it would be better if there was some kind of plate underneath the feeder to catch seeds that birds are pushing away. With this design, I find that there is a lot of wasted seeds.
