A Tiny Bluetooth Earbud with Good Range & Wireless Charging
This little bluetooth earbud is pretty much everything I want. It is very light, very small, has exceptional battery life, is easy to charge, can connect with multiple devices at once, switching between them on the fly, and doesn't hurt your ear because it is held in only by the rubber bud. PROS: Extremely Small Good Bluetooth Range Loud Long Battery Life (4+ Hours Easily) Wireless Charging (sort of) Two USB Chargers Connects with Multiple Devices CONS: Sub-par Sound Quality Can Fall Out of Ear Honestly, there is little more that I would want from this earbud. Does it fall out of your ear sometimes like others have been complaining? Yes, if you are walking or running, you'll probably have to push it back in with some frequency. That doesn't mean it comes flying out unexpectedly, it just shakes loose, just like most other earbuds, and that's why some designs have rubber attachments that wrap around your ears. However, I didn't buy that model, I bought this one, and having to push the bud back in from time-to-time is far less annoying than having to strap on a crazy hearing-aid style wrap-around, personally. Also, since it comes with three different sized rubber earbuds, it is moderately customizable to your ear. The "wireless charging" is awesome. How it works is the little USB chargers have two prongs in the center of an indentation that has a magnet behind it. The earbud sticks to the magnet and slides onto the prongs. If you practiced, you probably could throw it at the charger and have it start charging. I really can't stress how simple it is to attach, it's mildly magical. The magnet latches on and about a second later, the blue LED on the earbud turns and you know it is charging. Pairing it with a bluetooth device is simple: When the earbud is off, hold down the button for about 5 seconds. At about second 3 you'll hear a slightly accented voice say "Device On" and then at second 5 it says "Device Ready to Pair" (I may be paraphrasing here). At that point you need to tell your bluetooth source (be it your phone, or your laptop, GPS, car, whatever) to start searching for a bluetooth device, and it should find a GoNovate G8 and then pair up after about 5 seconds or so. Then the voice will say "Device Connected" and you may even see the G8's power bar on your bluetooth source's screen. I can confirm it does this with the iPhone 5s, but does not with the MacBook Pro, for whatever reason. You can have the G8 paired with multiple devices and run them simultaneously. HOWEVER: It will play audio from only ONE at a time. So you could be listening to music played by your computer, that would be interrupted when your phone gets a call, for example. Not as cool as playing both at the same time, but still useful. Basic operation of the G8 is pretty simple: Hold down the little button for 3 seconds to turn it, listening for the voice prompt. You can pause or play music by clicking the button briefly. You can answer calls by clicking the button, or deny them by holding the button for 2 seconds. Plus, like starting it, you shut it down by holding down the button for 3 seconds. That's it. Just 1 button with different hold times, and everything is identified using voice prompts. MY ONLY NEGATIVES: Firstly: The sound quality isn't great on this thing. I would describe it as a bit "muddy", with a lot of different tones bleeding into each other. High notes are reasonably crisp, but voices and anything pushing into the bass ranges tend to lose distinction. Personally, I use the G8 to listen to podcasts, which don't require great sound quality. Everything is easy to hear and understand, but you aren't going to want to listen to complicated orchestral pieces on it. The G8 is designed for convenience and portability, and at $18, it is really cheap. It's not exactly a surprise that it can't match my over-the-ear, Sony Studio Monitor Headphones. What is crazy about modern technology isn't that the G8 isn't as far away from those Sony's as the price would indicate. It's no masterpiece for sound quality, but it is sufficient, and that's a long, long ways away from cheap headphones of twenty-years ago, or even ten, or possible even five-years ago. Secondly: The original shipment arrived with a Flexible USB charger, and a non-adjustable Car USB charger. The Car USB charger worked perfectly, the Flexible USB Charger didn't fit the G8. So I contacted the seller and the immediately shipped me a second Car USB charger, which also works perfectly. I don't know if this is the case for all of the Flexible USB Chargers, but I must commend the seller (in this case: Ken from GoNovate) for rapidly responding and correcting the issue by providing a second Car USB charger for free. Now I have two chargers, as advertised, and they both charge the earbud perfectly. CONCLUSION: It is cheap. Its battery lasts a long time. It is very easy to use and setup. It doesn't hurt your ear. Charging it is very easy. It is cheap. The sound quality is good enough to not be annoying. It can be used by multiple devices. Plus: It is really quite cheap.

comfortable, good value
I wore it comfortably for 9 hours, most of the time I didn't even know it was there. I like that I can use it in either ear. Sound is adequate, not as good as more expensive ones but a good value for the money. Note that it has a proprietary magnetic charger which uses USB-A port. I bought an adapter usb c female to usb a female, which fits in the included case and charges just fine that way. Does not have separate volume control, uses device volume.

Good product, needs better QC. Stop using adult actresses for your voice prompts.
I bought this because I like the idea of a magnetic, set it & forget it charger. The G10s have a small barrel/pin charger, so those were out. First things first. This comes with two of the magnetic chargers. That's good, because I tried to straighten the first one, and it broke straight off; like it had been glued in position or something. Not a great first start, but the second charger was fine, and at the price.... This earbud sounds good. Not great, not abysmal, just good. And for $16, good is better than expected. You're not going to be blown away by deep bass, but you're poor eardrums are also not going to be assaulted by tin-ny high-ends. It's just a capable ear bud at a great price. Although, I'm assuming that if you're an audiophile and concerned about bass, 1) you're not looking for a single ear bud experience, and b) you're going to pay for better fidelity. The fit on this is okay. It small and really, really unnoticeable for a long wearing period. I wouldn't think to try too much activity with this, because unlike over ear hooks or in ear wings, this has neither to keep this little sucker in your ear hole. That said, its so small that I can go to the grocery store wearing a beanie hat and no one gives me the look of scourge which says that I'm being unsociable by wearing headphones while getting my shop on. Because, you know, I've made SO many random friends at the grocery store. Bluetooth distance is good, and while there is some lag when watching video, this actually seems to catch up and correct itself after a minute or so. I mostly use this with my iPhone 7 plus - I should really try it on my 2009 iMac, which is notorious for Bluetooth lag. Battery life is as advertised, in my experience, which is really, really good considering how small this thing is. Volume is pretty loud and controlled by your device. If anything, I with the volume output could be turned down. When I put my iPhone down to 1 volume bar, the output volume on this is still pretty loud. So loudness is not an issue, but quietness may be. If there's one thing I'm going to jab on it's this - What is WITH those voice promt, GoNovate? Are those retired porn stars? That voice is ridiculous. Just go with some English bird like Kate Beckinsale or some Oxford sounding lass, like everyone else does. It's really bad.

I love it.
First the good. It fits comfortably in my ear. I was surprised by that, I have problems sometimes with ear buds falling out. This one is light and secure for what I use it for. I got it to listen to podcasts and talk radio. I got this one and a different brand. This one is more comfortable and I find the tone more pleasing. I don't care for the way music sounds but that has more to do with listening to music with one ear than the device. My hearing isn't very good anymore and I am apprehensive about using things like headphones and ear buds. If I keep the volume at a low level I find it very easy to listen to speech through this. I mainly use it at work in the lab. I also love the chargers. Its very easy to connect to the contacts. My concern though is that the blue charging light only lights up for a few seconds. I'm not sure if it's really charging. I only use it for 2 or 3 hours and so far it has not run down the past few days that I've used it. I am going to see how long it lasts before it runs down, and see if it will recharge. Apparently this is an issue for a few users judging from the reviews. Hopefully it will not malfunction. I like this one so much I may get another as a backup, hopefully customer service will make it good though. If I have no issues in a few weeks I will bump my review to 5 stars. Other than the questionable charging issue it's perfect. eta: It's humming along just fine. I think the issue with the charging was because it wasn't run down enough to need to charge long. I've been using this for over a week now, it's been great! Update #3. I love this thing so much I got another! I get 6 hours of talking. I even used it answering the phone a couple of times and when I asked people how I sounded they could hear me just fine. I really love the charger. So much easier than the micro USB. I got 3 different ear buds and this one is the best. I'm surprised at how far the Bluetooth goes. I can go anywhere in the lab and not disconnect.

Was very satisfied....until it BROKE AFTER 4 USES!!!
PROS: - lightweight and comfortable - connects quickly - long battery life - pretty good sound quality CONS: - broke after only 4 uses! - customer service was completely unhelpful BACKGROUND: I purchased the GoNovate earbud because I was intrigued by the thought of having a small bluetooth earbud that was discrete, carried a long battery life, and had seemingly strong reviews. I expected to use this while walking about, and even while driving (since it is only in one ear) to listen to audio books mostly, and occasionally music. DESCRIPTION: I admit, I did not use this as much as I thought because I usually resorted to normal earbuds in both ears rather than this single. In the limited times I used the GoNovate earbud, I was pretty impressed with how quickly it connected to my phone or laptop, the sound quality was pretty good, the fit was rather comfortable, and the long battery life. Unfortunately, the earbud broke after ONLY 4 TIMES OF USING IT! I searched other reviews and there seems to be quite a few people that have the same issue. After some time, the earbud no longer charges, and then never turns on again. On the charger (I tried both), the blue light turns on for a few seconds (indicating that it is charging), then it just turns off. The earbud never turned on again. To make things worse, I contacted GoNovate directly and they refused to help, replace, repair, or offer any explanation for their defective product. I just received an apology that stated I was outside of my warranty window, which was never clearly expressed anywhere either. CONCLUSION: Definitely unhappy. Spending $20 on an item that works a handful of times and then breaks is ridiculous. Customer service was completely unhelpful. I recommend purchasing a different product that doesn't break after such a short number of uses, and from a company that actually stands behind their products.

Don't believe the hype
I bought this as a replacement for a Plantronics M165 marque 2 that I had lost; typically I just rebut the same unit (I have lost 3), this time decided to try something different. Pros: incoming audio is decent. Small size. If ear bud fits your ear, very comfortable. Cons: auto shut off sucks. My Plantronics would auto sleep, and could be woken by a single quick button tap; could last for days it seemed (at least 24h I think) in sleep mode. This gonavate unit auto shuts off in what must be way less than an hour; as a result I go to use it or answer a call, and it is off, and I have to long press the button for 3 seconds to turn it back on. That sucks. Also, it seems to have a delayed pick up of phone audio anytime it has been unused for about 15 seconds, so that when I am listening to navgation directions in the car with it, the first thing is always cut off, so I can't hear the left or right instruction. This also means I miss most alert sounds, and the feedback sound from Google now activating so I can't tell that it has responded to my voice. Within 15 seconds of last audio, or continuous audio, this in not a problem. Both of these faults pretty much kill the useability for me. Outgoing audio is ok (not awesome, but acceptable) if I speak loudly, too soft if I speak with my normal voice (which is on the softer side); I have to be a notch louder than I did with my Plantronics unit. Mixed: it blocks sound to whatever ear you put it in. Some will like this, I do not. I like listening to my car radio and this ruins that experience completely, so I am always taking it off, but if I am using it for directions I cannot do both at the same time anymore. The Plantronics allowed noise in around the unit, and I personally liked this better. For me, with my use case, this unit is not ideal. While I like the size, the cons are deal breakers. When I lose this one (a sure bet in the next few months) I'll be going back to my trusty, good value Plantronics M165 marque 2.

This earbud ROCKS!
This earbud rocks. I use it for podcasts and music, as well as Headspace meditation app (so nice to not have distraction of wires), audible yoga, and running. I thought I'd feel lopsided without two buds, but my brain quickly compensated after using for a few minutes, and I now find it easy to focus on what I'm listening to, but also easy to stay aware of my surroundings. The earbud works well for calls too, though I'll usually switch to my phone anyway out of habit. But no one can tell when I'm using it during a call. The Bluetooth reaches SO far, even farther than the spec's 30 feet says - I can leave my phone in my house while gardening in my garden 50 feet away! The battery really does last ~6 hours on medium volume as advertised, but since it conveniently comes with both a car charger and regular USB charger, I usually end up keeping it fully charged all day anyway by habit. I received a defective unit that didn't charge for my first order, messaged the company via Amazon, and promptly received a free replacement 2 days later, no questions asked. (If the blue light doesn't stay on while charging at less than full charge, then it's defective.) The only negatives: 1. Easy to lose. 2. No way to order replacement without receiving another case and charger set too (nice to have the extra chargers, but don't know what to do with extra cases.) All in all extremely satisfied, about to order another (because I lost it, not defect this time.) I am so glad I found this, the convenience for everyday life is amazing, especially if you like being aware of your surroundings while listening.

Amazing Sound Quality and Battery Life in a Tiny, Inexpensive Package
Amazing sound quality for a very small package. Comfortable enough, and small enough, for all day use and battery life to match. I typically wear it for ten hours a day (standby/audio/calls/Siri) and get well over the advertised five hours of audio play. I didn't except to use it for phone calls, Siri, or dictation but I do and all work extremely well. Call quality is better than the factory Bluetooth of my car (Sync in a 2010 Ford Fusion) and I switched off Sync in favor of using the GoNovate G8. The ONLY complaint I have is the volume being too high for some podcasts; I rarely use it beyond the lowest volume level. Music is fine for me at the lowest level but sound levels are inconsistent across podcasts (sometimes between episodes of the same podcast) and sometimes the lowest volume isn't low enough. For the price, $17, I expected to use it for a few weeks and buy a replacement as needed until I could purchase Apple's AirPods. Four weeks later, I'm still using the first G8 (haven't needed others) and I've postponed buying AirPods (I still plan to buy them but I'm no longer in a hurry). I've recommended the G8 to friends and coworkers and they love it too. While not a complaint, perspective buyers need to realize that the G8 does not let in outside noise. But, since the G8 is a single-ear earbud, I can hear outside noises and conversations perfectly well while using it. It just takes a little while to get accustomed to hearing from one ear. One of my favorite uses for the G8 is watching TV/movies on my iPad in bed while my wife watches something else or through the AppleTV while she sleeps. I assign the G8 as the outgoing sound source and watch without disturbing her. One last kudos to GoNovate. My G8 came with two magnetic charger and they are excellent; get the G8 near the charger and the magnet sucks it in. One of the chargers it came with was broken (the plastic housing was cracked) but GoNovate fast-shipped a replacement when I emailed asking how to request a replacement (zero conversation and zero hassle). Excellent customer service!

Nice fit , good for call , sound quality is clear and loud.
this product fits well in the ear , is easy to charge when not using just attach it to the magnetic charger and it starts charging without getting disconnected. Easy to use for call when you are busy working.

Really great..used daily.
Have had these for a few weeks and have been using them daily. Small (a blessing and a curse..have lost one already..) and discrete looking. Great sound (for small, bluetooth device). I listen to podcasts and audiobooks mostly and voice quality is spot on. Range isn't great but that's to be expected and not usually a problem as carrying phone round with me. Connection has been trouble free (Samsung S7 edge and S8 note), with reliable pairing and button responsiveness. Pop in ear, click to connect and click again to start book etc. Best thing is that I can have this popped in while I shower in the morning..very convenient. For reference I use a Sony SBH54 bluetooth device and Dunu Titan 1s for music. edit: now have 3. 1 for listening to books in bed, 1 for walking to work, and 1 back-up in case I forget to charge one of the others.

Third time lucky :)
So now I have three - single earbud earphones that is. My quest and test for the best has revealed that this is it. So far anyway. Quick delivery, a dinky zip-up case for storage of bud and ancillary bits and bobs (important in avoiding rage induced when being unable to find the tiny thing down the back of the chair etc), and a couple of extra silicone buds to cater for the fact that not all ear-canals are the same size and shape. Decent set of instructions but it's easily sorted intuitively with a bit of fiddling about. The sound quality, given the size of the thing is pretty good, with good bass, as much volume as you need (controllable solely from connected device). A battery-charge of about an hour lasts about five and a half hours play-time. Voice warnings for 'power on', 'device connected', 'device disconnected', 'battery high', 'battery low' (five minutes to flat) and 'power off' are really useful. So to summarise: given that you get a selection of buds, a hard-case, a really neat magnetic USB charger/connector (+ one spare), this is for me the best yet. Last and by no means least, the thing weighs next to nothing (4gm) and has passed the 'shake your head' and 'sprint for the bus' test without falling out. A great bit of kit and comfortable enough for you not to realise you're even wearing it. Highly recommended. PS: The phone facility works OK - not brilliant, but given that it's in your ear and the mic is integral it's OK, and at least you're made aware that you've got an incoming text or call even when there's a lot of extraneous noise. Just push the button (there's only one) to answer and once again to terminate, but be aware that if you click it twice then it's going to re-dial your last call. Highly recommended.
