12500 Peak Watt Home Backup Portable Generator, Remote Electric Start with Auto Choke, Transfer Switch Ready, Gas Powered, CO Sensor

This generator (model Westinghouse WGen9500c) was a surprise as it is very well made, and very sturdy. It started right up on the first try using the electric start button and first try using the remote. The remote worked extremely well and will come in very handy. Another nice surprise was all the printed information that gave detailed instructions, and descriptions. The generator came with a funnel, quart of oil, and all tools needed. The large size wheels were easy to mount as were the feet. Although the generator is heavy it was fairly easy to maneuver with the large wheels. We are in our 80's and thought we would have an issue moving it around but did not! So far we are very pleased with out purchase and based on the above info would recommend this generator. Hopefully it will provide extremely good service in the years to come.

This is a really nice generator.Setup was simple for someone even with the slightest mechanical inclination. The quick start instruction manual neglected to mention that the battery cable is disconnected. After going through the quick start manual, I hit start at the end and nothing happened. Only after thinking about it for a little bit, I remembered a previous commenter mentioning that the cable connection needed to be connected and wallah! It started on the first press of the button. I have since gone through over 48 hours of power outages and it has been able to run my entire house, including a 5 Ton heat pump I use to heat my home. During both power outages the outdoor temperature was below 32 degrees F, and ran nearly continuously. It is an inverter heat pump, so it's gentle on startup. I was also able to take a shower and run my electric oven to cook a pizza at 450 degrees. It didn't struggle even in the slightest. It's as noisy as you would expect for a generator this size. I wasn't shocked at it's noise level and neither should you. I was expecting it to be larger, but it's still large and heavy, but smaller than I was expecting. It rolls out of my garage easily with the supplied handle. I wouldn't expect grandma to be able to roll it out with ease, but if she was determined enough, she could do it. I highly recommend this generator. I wouldn't go out and buy anything more expensive that has the same output. Just buy it and you won't be dissapppointed.

I received this generator today. I have had a Generac 3250 generator for 14 years and replaced it with the Westinghouse 9500C. I was surprised that this generator is about the same size as the old Generac, which was only 1/3rd the power. This generator is better built than the Generac. For example, the handle is much bigger and more secure, the tires are more than 3X the size and are MUCH better attached, and it has battery operated starting. I was pleasantly surprised that it was very easy to set up and run. It is a bit loud, but that should be expected for a powerful generator. This generator is also easy to move about. I am very happy with this purchase.

Very happy with the entire process... from purchase to delivery to set up & start up. The Amazon delivery guys, using a dolly placed the generator in the garage, making it very easy to proceed with assembly. Per the generator instructions... added wheels & feet; oil & gasoline; connected the battery. Generator started right up on the first attempt using the remote starter.Couple of small things that might be improved (nits at best):Oil funnel: glad the manufacturer included - noted that the funnel neck was angled - which turned out to be important to adding the oil. Possible improvement would be to make the downspout longer. At the current length, it was still a bit awkward holding the funnel in place and adding oil.Feet attachment: the instructions showed that the nuts for attaching the feet were separate. I was a bit puzzled when I discovered there were no nuts included... only 4 bolts to attach. When I checked the attachment points, discovered that the needed nuts were permanently incorporated in the frame.Delivery: the Amazon notice of delivery indicated it would arrive sometime between 8 AM & 8 PM... and that an adult needed to be present to sign for the delivery. It would be a plus if, once the item is loaded & out for delivery, the delivery window could be narrowed to 2 or even 4 hours. The crew told me they had loaded their truck around 9...which coincided with an email I received indicating it was out for delivery - however, the note still indicated that delivery would be sometime between 8 AM & 8 PM. The delivery took place shortly after lunch.

I bought this unit almost two years ago. It has so far gone 155 hours of run time, most of it under load. Almost flawless performance. Starts up effortlessly. It shut down on one occasion (hence my four stars) but after cleaning the air filter it was back up and running. I have gotten more than 10 hours under load on a full tank. Like with all generators, maintenance is critical. Follow the maintenance schedule (I even do oil changes ahead of the stipulated intervals and run it for half hour every two months if it has not been used) and it will be good for long time. Make sure to use the trickle charger to keep the battery charged and purchase a cover to protect it from dust when not in use. Also, add some stabilizer occasionally to the fuel tank to keep the fuel fresh.

I have a few of these generators, they are absolutely amazing! Wish they would just fix the wheels though. After about a year they fall off

This generator (Westinghouse WGen9500c) exceeded my expectations with its solid construction and durability. It fired up on the first attempt using both the electric start and the remote, which worked flawlessly and is incredibly convenient. I was also impressed by the thorough printed instructions, offering clear guidance and descriptions. The package included helpful extras like a funnel, a quart of oil, and the necessary tools. The large wheels and feet were simple to install, and despite its weight, the generator was relatively easy to move, even with my bad back! I’m very satisfied with this purchase and feel confident recommending it. I hope it continues to serve me well for years to come.

Pretty easy to use. I move from the garage to use. It is pretty heavy. Works great though.

I searched for the best value for the money and so far so good. Easy to start, powerful and pratical.

I am very pleased so fare with my product started well in cold temperatures and very easy setup and portability.
