The aluminum is thick, edges are smooth, and the rubber padding grips without scratching. The adjustable width mechanism feels heavy and luxurious. It holds my 15" macbook air rock steady, zero wobble, and the rubber base means it's not going anywhere on my desk. I was worried initially because the large MBA is really thin but big, so I was concerned that it would wobble or be off balance if sitting vertically. ZERO issues with that. This stand is rock solid. The whole thing has that dense, cold-to-the-touch feel of actual quality aluminum, not the hollow nonsense you usually get at this price. I bought this because it was "cheap" and looked "good enough" but you know what, this thing is actually pretty nice. It's stable enough for its footprint. The quality is pretty good. It looks nice too. It JUST fits my large laptop. I guess my only complaint is It might be nice to have screw holes to firmly attach it to a wood surface so it doesn't get accidentally knocked off. A very minor issue if it even is an issue. Solid buy.

I have a HP workstation laptop and this does the job. Nice premium feeling stand. It's simple and does the work! It has an adjustable knob to adjust the width and looks like you could open it up at least 1 more inch if you have such a thick of a laptop.

Best piece of equipment bought this season. Cleans up a lot of desk clutter. Works well on my dell latitude and MacBook Pro. There is lot of room to adjust the fit for beefier laptops. The base or wide and provides good stability. The build quality is excellent.
