What size air compressor do I need for this sandblaster?

The AS118 requires a minimum of 4 CFM at 90 PSI with a 5+ gallon tank. Most standard garage compressors (3+ HP) meet this requirement. For continuous blasting, a larger tank (10+ gallons) reduces wait time between refills.

What blasting media can I use with the AS118?

The AS118 handles 6+ media types: aluminum oxide (rust/paint), silica sand, walnut shells (gentle), glass beads (smooth), baking soda (delicate), & silicon carbide. Use the included mesh filter & media guide for best results.

How do I prevent media from clogging?

Prevent clogs in 3 steps: 1) Use strictly dry media to avoid clumping. 2) Filter oversized particles with the included mesh screen. 3) For siphon mode, fully submerge the pickup tube. If using sand, always sift it first.

Is this good for large projects or just small detail work?

The AS118 excels at precision and small-to-medium jobs: auto parts, glass etching, tool restoration, & furniture stripping. For massive industrial jobs, use a cabinet system. The AS118 is perfect where detail matters most.

How long does the ceramic nozzle last?

The hardened ceramic nozzle outlasts plastic, offering hundreds of hours of use depending on the media. It's fully replaceable—just swap the tip when worn, not the whole gun. Replacements are available in our Amazon store.
