Awesome barebones keyboard for DIYing!
This is a review for: FL ESPORTS MK870 CMMK 87 Keys RGB Modular Mechanical Keyboard, 80% TKL Wired Gaming Keyboard DIY Kit w/Hot-Swap Switch Sockets (5-pin) & Customizable Software Supported (Barebones, Frosted Pink) As stated above, I got the FROSTED PINK color. I've been experimenting with different switches and also love to customize my keyboard with different keycaps as well. I noticed that my previous keyboard wasn't working correctly and decided to get a new keyboard. Why I thought this would be the best option for me was because: 1. Other barebones keyboards were at least $199, this had a nice price point -- and they had pink! 2. I like my switches to be a particular configuration and having experienced the painful and arduous process of pulling the switches and installing them back on my previous keyboard, I REALLY didn't want to do that again 3. I had on hand extra switches and keycaps already, so I didn't want them to go to waste The keyboard comes well packaged, with a sturdy plastic cover over it. The box has: 1 barebones keyboard, 1 usb-c cable, 1 keycap and switch puller, 1 manual, 1 warranty card The keycap/switch puller is essential due to the fact that the edges are raised, so other thicker keycap pullers will not fit. I used my own key switch puller when necessary. Putting everything together was a BREEZE! The switches fit perfectly without as much resistance (previous keyboard made my fingers bruise) and also pulls easily too, so it's easy to switch around configurations if needed. The LED colors are gorgeous, bright and there is a LOT of different custom settings to choose from. The keyboard base is weighty and is very well constructed. Even the plastic body does not feel flimsy or cheap. Everything is quite SOLID and I think it is well worth the money. There are 3 usb-c outlets total, 2 are covered with a plug. The keyboard also has very good noise cancelling, so my tactile switches and linear switches actually sound almost similar in loudness! It's quite impressive. I would have LOVED if FL ESPORTS had a full sized model for this keyboard since I do use the number pad a bit, but hopefully I can get used to not having it. One meh thing would be that there is only 1 LED under the space bar, smack dab in the middle - which causes a lot of dead dark spaces for the key. Overall, super happy with the product! I'll update my review if I find anything after longer term use but so far super happy!

Best inexpensive keyboard available right now.
This is a great keyboard kit. I just loaded it up with Gateron Yellows, lubed and filmed. Nice nice nice. Of course, I did have the traditional few keys which got their leads bent during insertion, but that's not the keyboard's fault. Fixed 'em up, and typing on it now. Color setup, as usual, more complicated and versatile than I need, but finally got it settled down to a constant green, with tapped keys lighting up in other colors momentarily. For the money, this keyboard, some gaterons, and some see thru modest priced white caps results in a new feel, and another one of my nice keyboards. This one has THREE USB plugs, (one on top, sides), and best of all, a great clear plastic COVER. All keyboards should ship with one of those. I like is so much I bought another, and will load it up with Gateron Blacks, also filmed and lubed. Did not mess with the stabilizers. This little keyboard rocks.

Great beginner custom build
This was a great first custom keyboard build Little on the pricey side The brightness could be slightly better and the axis to plug it in is a little narrow so you can't universally use any c chord It would have to fit in the slots. Would benefit with a tether system for the plugs to not lose them.

Parts that work are great || UPDATE:Received a replacement board and fixed my one major issue
Pros: Looks great with Akko Chocolate ASA keycaps. Feels lovely with Box Jades. Built like a tank. Illumination is nice. Cons: USB port is extremely tight, but it comes with a cable that fits so that's not a huge deal. The real issue is that my "End" key doesn't work, and I tried multiple switches in that slot. I would return it but I would rather not remove and reinsert the 86 switches I have that work fine just to get a button I rarely use. Just gonna rebind scroll lock I suppose. YMMV. UPDATE: Seller was helpful with troubleshooting and determined a replacement board was in order. I have received said replacement and it works perfectly, so I've updated from 3 to 5 stars. Shoutout to customer service rep Terry.

A great beginner hobbyist board
I am thrilled with the ease of assembly. I used durock t1’s. I meant to get smokey, but clear is fine. Octopus keycaps. It’s a substantial board. Nice and heavy. The silicone seems to get heft and a bit of a thock. I love the rgbs you can have multiple mode going at the same time. They are south facing. I still need to open the switches and lube them, but it’s only going to improve. I’m extremely satisfied. Not a cheap build with all my extra parts, but this will be my board for the foreseeable future. Epomaker that is not hotswappable gateron browns in the background for reference. I have noticed my gaming has slightly improved, but I’m still a garbage gamer. 10/10 cuteness and deep sounding tactiles. Cons: why is the usbc port so tiny? Think a thin cord port on all 3 sides. I made it work. No fancy coiled cables for me. I love my board. It’s a nice “quick” build.

Keys not working
Sadly bought this keyboard base, was delivered and multiple keys weren’t working. Double checked my pins on my switches and everything. It was a problem with the base itself. Returned the product and got a new one. This second base also came with multiple keys not working. Have to return both bases tomorrow and got a refund.

One of the best out there
It's a great keyboard, paired it with the new snow blue gray, and after lubing the stabs with 205g0 and dielectric grease, using some car dampener (2mm) for the case and doing the tempest mod this keyboard really came to life, see the video as proof, this keyboard it's just really a beast, solid 10/10

Case is amazing!
This kit features south facing RGB LEDS, and also is hot swappable the modding potential of this keyboard is endless. I have gateron milky yellow switches and it sounds absolutely amazing!! 10/10 recommend. Only thing I have bad to say about it is the clip on design if you plan on modding this kit heavily I recommend getting a prying tool for electronics. Other than that amazing kit! ^_^
