dont be put off by the lower price point, this is an amazing lens and half the size of the ones i've seen other people use, AND i get better images and optical zoom than they do! i am so pleased i got this over the £1200 or more expensive lenses, ALSO its very light weight compared to the larger lenses that offer the "same" optical zoom, if you are on the edge of buying it, just buy it, i wont buy another lens for my camera with a larger zoom, dont need it, also because its smaller and lightweight its far far easier to get pictures of moving targets and stay on target easier without swinging a huuuge scope around and smacking someone in the grille! (happened to me a few times with over zealous people) honestly worth the money!

Great lens - expensive but worth it. Good autofocus and sharp images even at 400mm. The longer you go the less the quality but it’s perfectly fine for personal use - not quite professional standard but a third the price of a pro-lens. If you’re a keen amateur it will do you just fine.

This is the best lens that I use on my Canon R8. The images are always so crisp and clear. I’ve recently used it to photograph some Red kites in flight and the images were stunning. It is as equally good on slower moving objects or even still objects. It is light weight and so versatile. The autofocus feature and stabilisation and fantastic for this lens. As with all of my Canon RF lenses the overall quality and fit to the body looks and feels great.

Reasonable optics, build quality is good for the price point. Lens is quite light so is easy to use without tripod. Auto steady feature is effective when using longer focal lengths. Aperture at longer lengths (F11 I think) can be a bit restrictive Not weatherproof so be careful when using in inclement conditions. All in all a great lens for the price.

Absolutely great lens. Extremely good value. Light and sharp. Use with R10 and R6mk2. Struggles a bit in low light but just up the iso.

It's not a typical wildlife lens that's for sure, but it's a nice lens to have on camera when walking around a local park where animals are more used to people around. It's fantastic for all this landscape photography when you need extra focal length. It's lightweight and compact, doesn't draw too much of attention. It's fun lens to have and I'm using it much more often than I thought I will. I find IS and AF working nice, it's not as good as L series glass (even EF adapted to RF body) and I wish it was brighter but for the money it costs and how comapct it is - I never regretted this purchase. Fantastic lens for the price. Paired up with my R7 I get an effective full frame focal range of 160-640mm. It is relatively light weight and compact, making it easy to carry whenever I take the camera out. My RF 100-500L is of course a better lens but it is also a fair bit bigger and I don't always want to carry that with me. Auto focus performance is really good, I have not had any issues with it myself and the same goes for the IS. IS works well enough that I can hand hold videos with the lens extended fully to 400mm and shoot at slower shutter speeds with acceptable results.
