When Women Pray: 10 Women of the Bible Who Changed the World through Prayer [Jakes, T. D.] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. When Women Pray: 10 Women of the Bible Who Changed the World through Prayer Review: Enlightening and Empowering! - Thereโs power in womenโs prayer. We are more nurturing, compassionate, and natural critical thinkers. We can multi-task while taking things slowly, and weโre more in touch with our innermost feelings and emotions. Society perceives these things โ namely the emotional stuff โ as weaknesses or as โgirly issues,โ but theyโre not. They are signs of strength. Internal strength is just as, if not more, valuable as external strength, and that is why a womanโs voice is so vital in a church or ministry. WHEN WOMEN PRAY illustrates just how powerful a womanโs prayer can be, and how God uses women to unify and strengthen those around them. T. D. Jakes does a wonderful โ and unpredictable โ analysis on various women in the Bible, and how their prayers elevated them and those around them. Why unpredictable? Because he touched on various notable female characters, anyone from Mary, Esther, Sarah and Hannah. I expected to read about those women in this book, but Iโm surprised that Jakes hadnโt addressed other notable people, like Ruth, Rebekah and Mary Magdalene. Instead, he wrote about the Samaritan Woman, Rhoda (from the Book of Acts), Anna (a prophet from Luke), the bleeding woman, etc. These women โ a few of whom remain unnamed โ had made their mark in their time because of their unshakable faith and strong prayers, but they get little love from people who study the Bible. Jakesโs takes on womenโs prayers are so refreshing. Some modern-day women might interpret his Woman Art Thou Loosed and other studies as โmansplainingโ female Biblical figures, but his takes stem from his admiration for the strong women in his life, like his grandmother, mother and daughter. He encourages women to follow their paths, whether that path is as an entrepreneur, a mother, a ministry leader, or all of the above. Love him for that reason! I cannot recommend this book enough. I devoured it from start to finish. Downsides? I would have liked to read his takes on Mary Magdalene and Ruth (he does one on Naomi instead, which is great too). Other than that, this is a must-read. Five solid Ginger and Cinnamon lattes, with creamy oat milk foam. Review: To get get a understanding you have too have read your Bibleโฆ - I loved reading this gave me more insight on the women in the Bibleโฆ

Amazing!! Prayer is the best Tool.
This book is just simply divine. One of the best advice ever given by anyone in general is to change your perspective in order to live a happy life. Now to live a joyful and fulfilling life, a woman must pray. This book shares that beautifully with examples of other womenโs trial turned testimony stories. It shares God isnโt surprised by anything and everything works out for your good no matter what. The key to unlocking miracles = prayer. Jonah prayed to be saved from the whale. Daniel prayed for a release, and the lionsโ mouths were shut and he was spared. Moses prayed and the Red Sea departed, leading to freedom. Of course King Jesus prayed for Godโs will to be done, he was risen in 3 days and became king of all nations of all generations forever.. on Godโs right hand side of the throne. Now this book shares what prayer has done for the women in the Bible and where it lead them. It gives us a blue print to follow. It gives us an example to keep going and be strong in Faith. God rewards always. Just like Job, he received 10-fold the amount. I didnโt mention any lady examples because TD Jakes explained it BEST in his book and I didnโt want to spoil. Of course we heard the stories but maybe some havenโt or I donโt want to overlap what he beautifully explained. 10/10 I would recommend to any and everyone. Such a beautiful read. It really touches the spirit and youโll feel a sort of liberation after reading. Thank you TD Jakes. I will always cherish this book.

Great book!
This book is awesome! I loved the way T. D. Jakes introduced each women, briefly discussed their particular story, then how she prayed, AND brought about a change. I read this book in my book club; we thoroughly enjoyed this book!

Modern take on women from the Bible
This book accurately draws from scripture to tell the stories of 10 different women from the Bible. I love how Jakes used women who we don't normally read\hear about in scripture. He practically ties these stories to the modern-day lives of women and how we can use prayer to overcome obstacles. I took off one star for Jakes' unnecessary insertion of his political views. Not that I necessarily disagree with Jakes, but it was very random and turned me off to the next couple of chapters. Overall, it was a very good study for our women's Bible study this summer.
