How big of fish would this catch?

I've used this net as a hammock, I weigh 190 that should give you a rough idea

Do I need a boat to set it up?

The Gill Net is for small streams. You tie the top rope to a tree and the bottom rope is a sinker rope. It should stay on the bottom of the stream. But a boat is not necessary.

He said "There’s no metal weights, the bottom rope is a polyester blend rope used in the longline industry it’s a “sinking rope”. That top rope is a poly floating rope" I hope this helps.
