Great tool to use for root pruning and plant removal.
This tool is awesome. It was a suggestion from a friend who said that the retired garden center staff used it. I put it to the test and removed 11 bush honeysuckle in one hour. It took a little longer to delicately cut off suckering roots on ninebark and spirea without damaging the plant but overall the sharp V in the front and the serrated blades on the side cut right through the roots. Ergonomically I liked how you could step on the plate and use your weight and the handle to pry up roots. Seemed heavy duty.

Game changer this root slayer!
Title: Clearing Green Giants With Root Slayer - A Game Changer For Gardening Veterans and Casuals Alike Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) I am writing this review fueled by profound admiration, respect, and surprise, carried in the sturdy metal hands of the Root Slayer. This was not only my preferred tool for uprooting a particularly stubborn bush in my yard but also a magnificent symbol of design, functionality, and superior quality. The Root Slayer's effectiveness is a notch above standard shovels and speaks volumes about its intelligent and practical design. It's like an empowering extension of your will over green behemoths, making you feel like a gardening superhero. As someone who has toiled with many standard shovels, the sheer efficiency of the Root Slayer has shattered my expectations of what a gardening tool can achieve. One fantastic feature is its patented blade design - built to cut through the toughest of roots. This technology sets the Root Slayer apart from its competitors, ushering in a sense of invincibility in the face of notorious root networks. I was particularly impressed by how smoothly and cleanly the Root Slayer managed to extract a bush that had held command over my garden for far too long. The edges of the blade are toothed to ensure more significant cutting power and allow for an easier, less back-breaking experience. The strength and durability of this tool are unmatched. The material feels robust, yet it retains a weight balance making it comfortable to handle during prolonged use. Ergonomics-wise, this tool truly shines. It is designed to reduce stress on your hands and back, making your gardening tasks less of a chore and more of a enjoyable venture. Usually, uprooting a stubborn shrub is a daunting task, but the Root Slayer turned it into a recreational activity. It's safe to say that it does not merely live up to its name but surpasses it, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the realm of gardening. In conclusion, the Root Slayer is comprehensively better than a standard shovel. Its distinct features and stellar performance make it an asset for every gardener, be it a seasoned professional or a casual enthusiast. The Root Slayer is not just a tool; it's a revolution in the gardening domain, picking a fight with roots, and winning every single round. For anyone looking to uproot the seemingly impossible, look no further than the Root Slayer. This tool is a game-changer.

Got soil with lots of roots? Get this!
High quality and well made! Short handle design works well for a 5'4", 69-yr.-old woman. Great for digging holes to cram in even more plants in tight spaces with lots of roots in the ground. Narrow head doesn't bring out a lot of dirt at once like a regular shovel. But it's weapon-like design cuts through problem dirt areas very quickly! I like the raised tread design on the 2 areas where you put your foot so they won't slip off in heavy wet clay soil. This looks and feels very solidly built and should be able to withstand a lot of use! Just used it to plant 6 climbing roses in uneven areas that were not easy to access.

The perfect shovel!!
This shovel is an investment in my collection of the best garden tool. Radius is my new favorite brand. The design is perfect. I have given this shovel as gifts twice. Very sturdy & easy to use. Not too heavy, weight is just right. Love the teeth which cut right through the soil. Brilliant design in every way. Easy to grip and control the handle. Everyone need this shovel in your garden.

Best Transplant Shovel Ever
Best transplant shovel I’ve ever used. I originally bought it to remove running bamboo, and it is ok at sawing through rhizomes, but where it really shines is transplanting or invasive removal. I’ve planted over 200 trees with this shovel now, and it’s still sturdy and strong. I’ve sharpened the teeth once with a flat file, but other than that no maintenance. It is the perfect tool for digging up rootballs, and can remove invasive Himalayan blackberry with only 3-4 steps. The widened flange and step are excellent for delivering a lot of force to the roots, and it’s light enough to carry easily on long trails. I got the XL version as I’m taller and it’s the perfect height, although someone shorter <170cm might want a smaller size. It has good grip alongside my hori-hori is one of my most used gardening tools. Highly recommend. I’ve even had professional excavators inquire about the shovel after seeing it and ask where I got it.

This is a great tool
I am a metal detectorist. I've been doing this for several years now. I use the heck out of this shovel. 3 to 4 hours almost daily. This shovel performs Beyond its price point. I use it daily to dig in hard pack dry clay. It does well, and the serrations on both sides make short work of roots, and occasionally a sprinkler line.. oops! Definitely would recommend this, and I've had this for nearly 2 years now. I would recommend regular maintenance on the blade with an occasional sharpening or light coat of oil or silicone on the blade after Water contact. Would buy again

Solid
Other than it having a weak point and bending on its first usage, is pretty darn strong. And good at what it’s advertised to do. Sure makes life easier. I have a few, I would buy this again, but be a little more careful. I like the weight and how it helps pierce through soil and roots.

Great Smaller Version of Root Slayer
Great smaller version of the standard Root Slayer. Digs easy - cuts through the dirt, roots quickly. I use the smaller version in tight spots around plants.

fantastiskt verktyg

Szpadel używany w ciężkiej glebie, głównie glina - do rozsadzania roślin. Sprawdza się świetnie. 4 godziny pracy w godzinę.
