beautiful garden product
Super way to garden. Produce has been fantastic. Tried to garden in past with poor results. So many of the plants have floutished. Green beans produced well, tomatoes and peppers in top are gigantic. Eggplant, lettuce, plant what you enjoy and watch it grow. Would purchase again. Good quality produck. Purchase dirt for hanging baskets for light weight. Worms composting, such a cool way to fertilize. Enjoy.

Great for condo dwellers growing greens.
This is my second year using the old version of this product (same idea, just a different size) in snowy northeast Ohio. And I've gotta say, I'm impressed. As a condo dweller, I do not have a lot of room to grow veggies on. I use self-watering containers for my tomatoes and green peppers, that take up most of the room on our patio, so had no room to place containers for lettuce, kale, zucchini, cukes, broccoli, etc. Placing the Garden Tower in a flower bed solved that, while remaining so attractive that the condo association gave us no problems. In fact, the president loves the way it looks. All that, and the tower has provided us with salads & greens for smoothies steadily. I love the integrated composting. Again, there is no way the owners association would have permitted us to compost. The tube, and then red wrigglers have solved that problem. The only thing that stops this from being a five-star review is that the back of the unit is not productive once the plants facing the sun grow. The plants grow okay during the spring, but the shade soon stunts them. Last year, we planted a broccoli in a north-facing slot that did not head. Wiser this year, we planted spring lettuce in the back. As expected as of now (mid July), it has petered out. The lettuce hasn't gone to seed .Instead, the plants are just... dying. Still, highly recommended. Especially for condo-dwellers. UPDATED 04/20/2016: It looks like this now rotates, so the back-side die-off may be a thing of the past. That said, being a tinkerer (should have been an engineer, I think...), I know that the more moving parts a thing has, the more apt it is to fail. So I'd be interested to know how solid the bearings are. BTW, planting this for year #3 in about two weeks.Just add a little compost and organic fertilizer and minerals and I'm off. :-)

Love it !
I received my garden tower about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks ago and I love it. I live in the mid west and first started planting in mid June so am getting a little late start, but my beets and kale are coming up fine. My daughter and granddaughter helped me plant it. It was also easy for me to put together. Good instructions! We put the beets in the top and in the top tiers. I also have flowers, strawberries, cucumbers, squash, mint, and other herbs. I used to garden but due to age and replacements can't kneel or bend like I used to so this is a God sent for me. It rotates so if one side needs more sun than the other, you can turn it. Everything is doing fine so far and I will update later in the season. Great idea from the Garden Tower Project. I can dig in the dirt again !

I really enjoy the Garden Tower but it would have been nice ...
I really enjoy the Garden Tower but it would have been nice to get some directions with the product and a guide on what vegetables to grow. I never had a product in my life without directions. That is the negative. Straight form the heart. Paul T

would be nice to have a castered base. Mobile base offered too expensive
interesting concept, very expensive if it doesn't produce as advertised.

... setting up my garden tower and boy I'm so happy that I did
I finally got around to setting up my garden tower and boy I'm so happy that I did. The garden tower was easy to set up and has been incredibly easy to maintain these past few weeks. I can't believe how many plants it will hold. In fact, I've run out of new herbs that I want to add to my garden. I'll have order some more exotic herbs online. The garden tower's compost system has been easy to maintain too with no mess and no need to turn the compost. The tea that collects at the bottom of the tower is easy to pour back into the tower, making daily watering a snap.

Dried out SUPER FAST - You can NOT plant as much as you think you can
I like the idea and the concept and tried it. heres the issues in New England. If I was still in my return window I would - Personally I feel I wasted my money!! 1: Water all you want in the morning, come afternoon its bone dry in the summer, so It needs LOADS of attention. 2: Just because it have xxx planting spots, you CANT use them all. I planted Bush beans , basil, lettuce and cucumbers - BIG BIG MISTAKE - The cukes in the bottom row - even after super watering are bone dry by mid day and wilting. The bush beans block out the light , NOTHING Else can grow. as the light is blocked in the next 3 rows below it. So bush beans in the top and top row - the next 2 rings - BAREN. If I was In my return window I would send this back

Problem with product shipped but manufacturer took care of problem - great customer service
Great idea. Disappointing quality control on the unit I received.. Many of the "pegs" (which fit into the grow ring below) were warped out of shape and had sharp protruding plastic distortions which prevented a fit. I was forced to trim several with a knife to get rid of the rough edges so that they would fit into the corresponding holes. It's like nobody checked before it was shipped. I eventually was able to get rid of the plastic distortions and put it all together, but you shouldn't have that issue with a product as expensive as this. There's no way to know if this is a common or "one-off" problem. The design seems good, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs here in Hawaii. But my assembly experience was terrible. Update 1: the people at Garden Tower Project responded proactively and took care of the problem. Update 2: they've made even more of an effort of outreach to take care of the issues. Their customer service definitely deserves five stars.
