Has anyone had a problem where, once it’s been set to “warm” for a bit, you can’t set it back to “low” or “high”? It just doesn’t get hot again?

Can you put the pot directly on a hob to brown off meat before slow cooking?

I am usually cooking for 4, but sometimes want a bigger crockpot to carry to parties, etc. Does it work to cook smaller amounts of food in a big unit?

Thank you for your question, J W. It is not necessary to fill the stoneware liner to capacity with each usage. The liner should be filled at least 1/2 to no more than 3/4 full to avoid over and under cooking. When only half full, you should check for doneness 1-2 hours before the end of the recommended cooking time.
