Mostly good, overpriced though.
Mostly good, some not so fantastic points though. I got this for a “broom closet” solution and found a damaged box through Amazon warehouse so it was only $185. For that price, it’s worth it. Had I paid full price though (which was almost $300 when I bought mine), I think I’d be disappointed. It functions really well, has ample storage and solves the lack of closet problem we had (we did have to leave out the shelf in order to fit the broom and vacuum)... the doors are thin and rather flimsy, though. The top isn’t finished at all, which isn’t a huge deal except it seems for that price point, it should be. We can see the top because it’s next to the knee wall on our stairs to the second floor, so it’s just something to note if you’d also see the top. (We plan to put a top on it like a wood counter or something). All in all it’s decent but it should cost less than $200, imo. Check the warehouse before you pay full price ;)

Where You Place it is Important
I bought this cabinet knowing that it might be flimsy based on other reviews and those reviews are correct. It needs more horizontal support than what is designed. On the bright side, at least for me, it worked in my favor. The space that I intended for the cabinet was almost an exact fit. Anything that didn’t have a little play wouldn’t have been able to slide, shove and cajole into place. See my included photo. Even with the play it was a bugger to get into the cubby. Tight space aside, this is an important thing to know, it does best when it has two walls to lean on and secure it to, three is perfect. I have the cabinet tight to the left side wall and rear wall. I did put in the top safety strap because it is tall and I didn’t want it to fall in case of earthquakes or other natural phenomena, me putting too many heavy things on the top shelf. I also put one long screw into a stud on the left side and this cabinet is going nowhere. The construction is probably easy but since I had to build it in place, my tiny laundry room, it took a little time, most of my day because I was working out the logistics as I built. I didn’t exactly follow the directions because it was impossible but for most people it’ll be okay as the directions were easy to follow. My modifications were because of space only. I had to leave the cardboard backing off because frankly, I couldn’t get back there to nail it on and since it’s cardboard it doesn’t really contribute to any stability. In getting the doors and drawers level and fairly even I had to drill new holes for the right side door and raise it so it wouldn’t interfere with the drawers. The left side only required careful placement. In another review someone said they leveled their drawers by tightening the inside slides. I tried this trick and it worked. While the doors and draws aren’t perfect it’s good enough for government work. Overall it’s a good looking cabinet and with its placement and my own attempts to secure it to a wall I think it’s pretty sturdy. Most importantly you have to be aware of what you’re buying. I have furniture from Ethan Allen and this isn’t even in the same universe but the price is right at less than $300 as getting a built in would have cost 9 times what I paid.

Great storage cabinet, looks good, too!
This storage cabinet was exactly what I needed! Putting it together took awhile, but it wasn't difficult. The instructions were easy to follow. You will need an extra person at a couple of points during assembly for lifting and rotating, but other than that, I put it together alone. It holds all the stuff that was making my kitchen a crap trap. I also keep my vacuum and brooms in there, since my house doesn't have a broom closet. And I love that it's not ugly!

Warning review from a professional assembler.
I really hate leaving a bad review for Sauder because they have gorgeous products in the furniture area. Sometimes, people just don't know what they are doing and screw crap up while they put it together, but i put my own furniture together and other peoples so when i say this was garbage its coming from an area of expertise. BUT, they have excellent design taste only they lack in durability. It took me four hours to put my cabinet together, then another two hours to properly organize it (gently- because it has a thin cardboard back that gets nailed to the left and right backside of the cabinet and I'm not an idiot i get these things are not the greatest). Once its together its incredible to look at and the first thing i let slide was the slight misproportion of the cabinet doors but they were slight and unless you're just staring it down you won't notice it in passing. i needed this to act as a linen closet because i recently remodeled and took out a closet to create a hall. And for the price i figured it must be better than the reviews I see. Well it is- until you try to move it. even gently sliding it and pushing at the bottom jacks this thing up. as soon as i placed it i opened a drawer to put n a single pillow case and it slid out and popped off its track and i was like "ok maybe i pulled this too hard i need to be more gentle" NOOOOO!!!!!!! no matter how gentle you are this thing falls apart every time you touch it in some way, shape, or form. I wouldnt be so upest if it wasnt for the fact that the money i used to buy this thing was a gift from my mother in law who recently passed away, and i feel like i squandered her kindness away on something ridiculous. so now, not only do i have this cabinet that wants to keep falling apart every five seconds, Im leaving a warning review to anyone else who may be wanting to purchase this thing. its gorgeous it has plenty of storage space but it will take a while to put together and then five seconds to break. its just not worth almost 400 they ask for it. my suggestion is to find a matching dimensional wall space to slide this thing into so that it protects this cabinet. It CANNOT be free standing with both the left and right sides exposed because it does not manage weight dispersment properly and the middle piece that connects both outside ends are not screwed into anything but MDF which wears too easy. Unless Sauder figures out a way to make the body of this cabinet hold together better this is a waste of money. I BUY ALOT from amazon and this is the FIRST thing I've bought that i am legit unhappy about. You've been professionally warned. ( please know- it was delivered in stellar condition, impeccably packaged, completely undamaged with all its components PLUS extra is you needed it. But it legit lacks the durability needed to be functional.) Add- I’ve reinforced every bit of this thing that I could adding another hundred dollars to this- and I still can’t get it to sit right I don’t want to have to fix it to the wall but it looks like that is going to be my only option. No worth it. And I don’t think I’ll get my money out of it before I just burn it!

Not easy to build and thin sides.
I usually have had good luck with Sauder Furniture but this Sauder Select Multipurpose Bedroom Armoire was not their usual quality. While it looks very nice put together, I found the thin sides hard to handle while assembling(5 hours). I have an alcove it fit into snugly, so I felt that would keep it secure. I use it for adult size everyday shirts, socks, underwear, and shorts/jeans. The hanging rod wouldn’t hold much. I bought storage bins to organize the clothes.

It was okay while it lasted
Update: I called the Sauder company for a warranty claim. I didn't have high expectations. But it was very easy. I explained that I would like a new door shipped to me & the lady gathered my info & is shipping one out to me right away. They provided excellent hassle free customer service. It a fairly plain cabinet but it did it's job. We use it as a "coat closet" in our living room, right by the entrance to the house. We have no closets etc (123 year old house) so we put our bags, most frequently worn shoes, coats, etc in here for 2 adults, 1 child. But 9 months after purchase and one of the doors (the one above the drawers) fell apart at the seams. All of the them. Now this door comes pre-assembled. So it wasn't that we assembled it poorly. It comes preassembled and we only had to screw the hinges on & attach it to the cabinet. Well, it fell apart. We used wood glue on the seams and the wooden pegs to put it back together but that only lasted about a month and it fell apart again. Wish I had bought the insurance, but I didn't.

A little pricey but well worth it for the extra space
Yes its a bit more expensive than other cabinets of similar design, but that's because it also has about 50% more space - primarily its deeper than any other cabinet you'll find. We've converted it into a printer cabinet for a couple large laser printers, a inkjet printer, and several other tech devices. All neatly tucked away out of sight in this nice cabinet that matches the decor. It was also very easy to take a holesaw and puch holes in the back of the cabinet for the power cords.

Disappointed - Was falling apart while putting it together
I purchased this item so I had a place to store our ever growing pet supplies. While the product didn't appear to have any damage, while we were putting it together the particle board started to fall apart - specifically the shelf in the long open side. We had to improvise to save the shelf by putting a "cleet" board in on both sides since this shelf is essential to the structure. While I understand this is not a high-end, real wood piece, I would at least expect to be able to at least put it together and get some use out of it before it started to fall apart. Very disappointed - and my husband who put it together reminds me all the time why I shouldn't buy these types of things (SMH). Just hoping it last a few months to get at least some of my money's worth out of it.
