The whole system is weather resistant and durable. Just make sure you don't lose the O-ring that is used to seal the computer when you install its battery. I suppose the same might be true for the sensor itself although I may have already lost that O-ring. When calibrating the system, the manual has a chart that you can use for different wheel sizes. It also suggests measuring the actual circumference of your wheel. I highly recommend measuring the circumference, as the accuracy was spot-on for me when I did it. Also, my wheel size was a teeny bit larger than any entry on the chart. The computer itself, being wireless is easily detachable and small enough to put in a pocket. I strongly recommend doing that unless you stop or park in highly secure areas. That was how I lost my previous bike computer, within 2 weeks.

Update: After messing with this thing for several weeks I find it to be completely unreliable. It'll read great one day and the next day it will vary between showing zero MPH and 15 MPH. I don't know if the cell phone that I carry interferes with the wireless signal or what but this thing does not work well at all. What I wrote below was how I felt in the middle of my trials. The physical installation is not difficult - tie wraps and such. No big deal. What is difficult is working out the distances along with the particular configuration of your bike. The distance from the computer to the sensor is critical. You get beyond or even close to the 60cm distance from the computer to the sensor and you will get very erratic readings or no readings at all. Same with the 3mm distance between the sensor and magnet. 3mm is about 1/8 of an inch! I have a trail bike with wide forks. That presented an issue in getting the sensor close to the magnet AND also having the sensor not too far away from the computer. I had to try about 8 or 10 configurations where I finally ended up with the sensor tie wrapped on the INSIDE of the fork up close to the brakes (had to keep within the 60cm distance from sensor to computer) which allowed me to get the sensor and magnet within the 3mm distance as well. Once I got those distances happy and figured out how to mount the sensor in the wide fork spacing, everything worked great! Nice features on the computer and you can tune the wheel diameter to get the mileage distance more accurate.

Works ok but eats batteries. About every 2 months it’s dead. Looks like it’s off but apparently running enough to kill the battery in the background

My father-in-law recently purchased an electric scooter and he wanted to know how fast he was moving up and down the sidewalk. At times he has a hard time installing small items like this but he didn’t have any issues doing it by himself. He said it’s been pretty accurate, and the battery life has been really good as well. Display size is good and he’s able to read and understand the screen. Good item for a part time speedster.

I measured the tire using the instructions because my old 10 speed bike didn't match their table. The install was pretty easy. Sometimes I hear a click sound when riding. The vibrations from going over rough roadways occasionally makes the device closer to the spoke. I've been having to adjust that lately. It has a temperature reading which I think is awesome! The max speed for me so far is 22.8 mph going down a hill. I have about 43 miles on the odometer. It uses bluetooth to connect to the spoke to measure. So far I haven't had any wireless connection issues. It seems reliable. When you press a button the screen lights up. I would recommend it. It's not a fancy device that connects to your iPhone, but if you are looking for a device to provide the basics it is awesome. The thermometer to measure the air temperature is a great bonus feature!

I’m training for an MS 150 ride and new to cycling. I want to ride for the charity event, but don’t want to break the bank getting into the sport. I purchased an older but high quality road bike and wanted a speedometer to help me train. After looking at several other models this one had thousands of reviews, and most of them were good. This one was under $20, wireless, and had very good reviews. The item arrived in under 48 hours, and I spent about 15-20 minutes installing the speedometer on the bike. It is easy to read on day or night rides, it was easy to calibrate/configure, and I’ve had no technical issues thus far. I’ll be putting on several hundred miles in the next few weeks so it will be a good test for the new equipment. Some of the reviews mentioned that it worked well for the first month or so and then stopped. Time will tell. Other than that, I have no concerns about the product.
