Perfect cycling commuter helmet for all seasons.
I started commuting to work on a bike about a year ago, and since then I've been gradually upgrading my gear. I was looking at options for a helmet upgrade, and after doing hours of reading up on different types, brands and styles of helmets I stumbled upon this one from Bern. I absolutely love the fit and feel of this helmet. I have a 60cm noggin, and the XL fits me perfectly with the summer liner installed. The helmet is the lightest I've ever held, and the built-in visor is great for both shade from the sun and keeping sweat out of my eyes. After wearing some of the other styles out there, I think this one is the best looking by far. The other helmets either left me looking like an extra from the set of Spaceballs, or like I'd hollowed out an oversized Nerf football and stuck it on my head.I really like that they offer a winter liner that is better insulated with ear covers that I can swap out for the summer one. I'll be picking that accessory up next, for sure. One more thing - I added a rear view mirror to it by using four adhesive Velcro squares (two on the brim of the cap, two on the base of the mirror). It works like a champ!

Comfortable, stylish and truly large-sized
Bought for kayaking and rafting. Hard to find a helmet to fit my head, which requires a 7&3/4 hat size. That's not huge by any realistic measure, but most consumer products are aimed at the "typical" person which is smaller than me.It is rather comfortable, largely due to the visor/padding. When installed, the visor is really an internal shell. It is soft and covers the entire surface area of the helmet.

Great Helmet
I do a lot of cycling but I don't like the conehead/space alien look of your typical cycling helmet. The Bern helmet have a cool look to them, and a couple of neat features as well. I used to own the Bern Macon, which is an EPS helmet. This means that the shell is made of a hard, thick molded plastic. It's super tough, but heavy. The Bern Brentwood is made using the "Zipmold" process, which appears to be a thin layer of polycarbonate over a hard foam liner. What this means is that the helmet is a lot LIGHTER.Zipmold is a good bit more expensive than EPS, but it's TOTALLY WORTH IT for the lighter feel on your head. One other thing that stands out about the Bern helmets, they have an interchangeable liner system. The Brentwood comes with a visor similar to a baseball cap. On the 2014 model, you can flip it up to keep it out of your eyes. You can snap the whole liner out and replace it with cold weather earflaps, and other stuff. Pretty neat feature.Overall, great helmet if you're looking for a different style than your typical bike helmet.

i have a big head
It's supposed to be pretty low profile but its not because i have a big head even though im wearing a small. still its pretty durable and will definitely save my life when i get hit by a car because i bike.

Sizing too small
I bought a XXXL helmet, and measured the size of my head, it showed this helmet to easily fit from the description, but it was too small to fit my head. I bought a Giro Remedy large, and it fit my head fine, and it is a full sized helmet. Something in the math from Brentwood is off, and the proof to me is that the Giro sizing was accurate.

Good helmet, good price
I bought my four year old son a trailer bike and decided I should get him something more substantial than the Walmart helmet he had. I did a fair bit of research into bike helmets and found the Bern Brentwood to stand up to the scrutiny. The price is excellent...nowhere else could even come close. The quality is great and my son likes it. Not sure about ventilation yet. It doesn't seem like it would be that great but we will see when summer rolls around. Thought the visor was just a gimmick but it is actually effective. I might just have to get one of these for myself.

Great Helmet ...watch the sizing
Love this helmet...much better design than all the pointy, goofy coloured ones that are common. This is the second one I've ordered. First one was from a different source and only had the one size, so back it went...too small. I measured as per Bern website, but it was way too tight. (XL). Found it on Amazon at a great price with good size selection. XXL fits like a glove any very comfy. The visor is a big plus too. I definitely suggest ordering at least one size larger than what your head measures from the charts.
