Made on a woman's 'last' so woman's foot shaped... check! Sturdy.. check! I really wanted to love this hiking boot. I waited months for it to go on sale, and my mom and I each bought a pair..... And we both ended up sending them back. We thought a company like "Columbia" would be more in tune with hiker's needs since they are an outdoor fitter company... But we were very disappointed to learn there is ZERO support I. The actual boot for your foot.... The insole was hard with no cushion, shock absorb, memory foam, foot cintouring, or arch support. I was uncomfortable walking across the house... I can't fathom what an actual hike would be like. Mama had the same issue. We had been so excited to get them, and were very disappointed to have to send them back. To Columbia: please do better... Put foot support in your hiking boots
