The Wheel of Time Box Set 1: Books 1-3 (The Eye of the World, The Great Hunt, The Dragon Reborn) : Jordan, Robert: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Buy it for endless enjoyable light reading g - Compulsive. Each book is the size of 4 normal books and I’m now on the 6th. Can highly recommend, though the central premise that the anti-creator is trapped in a hole in the corner of a continent and the dozen small countries that are found there have single handed kept him in his hole for thousands of years whilst the rest of the continent, world, galaxy, universe carries on its normal life oblivious and unaffected by the anti-creator struck me today after 6000 pages as a little odd; maybe it will be explained in the later books. Review: Perfect, exactly as it says - I actually ordered the entire set at one go as a present for the wife. She had always wanted to read them, had gotten great reviews from friends who have read them, but was unsure of watching the TV show before reading them so got them all ordered. The set itself with the others look really good stacked side by side on the shelf. The paper quality and print is standard but very good. Only issue (which is more personal than quality) is the print is quite small so she has had to limit herself to how much she reads at a time as it was causing headaches (others have said the same so may not be just her)

So nearly great, just a little bit of cost-cutting evident
Bought after reading a previous edition of The Eye of The World from a second hand book shop. The good: No print or binding issues as reported in other reviews (perhaps they were the initial print runs?). Spines seem strong enough for a paperback (I doubt you’ll be re-reading the series frequently!) No large Amazon logo on the cover of each book as seen in some early reviews. Perhaps they removed them in following print runs. The not so good: Chapters can start mid-page. This seems a bit of a penny-pinching exercise to reduce page count by 20-30 pages/book. Box is not as thick as indicated in the product graphic. It is not a “formed” box - there’s a flap tucked in at the back - it does help keep books aligned on the shelf and protected in transit, and if you get the the whole set it’s probably better to have think boxes so the artwork across all 15 spines appears continuous. Spines artwork alignment - the cover from book one appears on the edge of the spine. Paper thickness seems adequate. Not as thin as other photos have shown (again, they might have improved this in later print runs). Overall I’m happy for my needs. I just feel that Orbit could have spent a bit more time on quality control and let each chapter start on a new page. Maybe they’ll do a hardback set (I hope so!) as I’d probably buy those instead.

Haven't read the books yet, they were a gift. Watched all seasons, fantastic. The came well packaged and had no damages. Would recommend if you like fantasy.

Liked the books loved the audiobook by Rosamund Pike
Being a new mum I struggled to find time to sit and read the books continuously, however I discovered the Audiobooks and I've become addicted to the series through them. She THE BEST narrator I've ever come across all the characters came to life and I was in the edge of my seat the whole time. If you are struggling with the book get the audiobooksor even relive the books through the audiobooks, you won't regret it.

This box set is brilliant. The quality is great, the covers look fantastic, and it takes pride of place on our bookshelf. These are some of our favourite books in the series, and having them together in one set is perfect for collecting or re-reading. The price was also the best I could find online, Amazon was noticeably cheaper than other retailers. A must-have for any Wheel of Time fan!

Excellent condition and awesome books. Nothing to complain about, besides maybe the font size might be too small for some, but it doesn't bother me. Highly recommend!

This will prove quite divisive, but here we are again...I bought this box set to find out what this series was really all about, before watching the Amazon TV serial...and I have to say that these proved to be some of the most overrated and boring books I have ever read. Not "bad" books, mark my words...just plain boring. And I read Laurence Sterne, so I know what I am talking about. I understand that the basic idea, here, is to set the scene for a grand epic tale...but I just find absurd having to wait for more than three books, to be able to really understand a few bits of what is really going on. Now, of course, since I have started this, I will someday be forced to come back to the tale, re-read the books and perhaps even get to their end, eventually...but in my humble opinion, it will still not be worth the read.
