Topical Lidocaine 5% gel is terrific!
This works great as one of the key ingredients of my homemade "Boo-Boo" creams. It blends easily with the other ingredients and numbs the affected areas in 10-20 minutes and lasts until the other ingredients kick in to relieve the source of the discomfort. Anti-fungal Boo-Boo cream: Works great for heat rash, topical fungal infection, diaper rash, insect bites (or try antibiotic Boo-Boo cream listed below). Combine equal parts Lidocaine 5% gel, Ketaconazole or Miconazole (*see tinactin cream) and lastly, Hydrocortisone 1% cream. Antibiotic Boo-Boo cream: Combine equal parts Lidocaine 5% gel, Hydrocortisone 1% cream, and Bacitracin/Neomycin/Polymixin B cream (combination topical antibiotic). The lidocaine relieves the pain, while the Hydrocortisone & Bacitracin/Neomycin/Polymixin B relieves infection and inflammation. You'll see a remarkable improvement overnight from my "Boo-Boo" creams.

Used for tattoos, it WORKS!
I got this product to help with the pain associated with getting a tattoo. I will admit, it did not work well the first time I tried to use it, but it was because I did not apply it correctly. Tips for application: DO NOT rub it all the way in like lotion. Simply put a light film over the skin and leave it, do not rub it in. The reviews I read on here said to put it on 30 min - 1 hour prior to tattoo. The reality is about 2 hours prior is optimal. Lastly, use plastic seran wrap to cover the area applied. This seals in the product and opens the pores. When applied correctly, this product took my pain from an 8-9 all the way down to a 1-2. There is no other way to get tattooed after using this product. The only way it works, however, is when it is applied CORRECTLY. Enjoy!

Best for pain
I have severe RA with hip and knee replacements and I’m in my 50’s. I have been in tremendous pain since June and working with my doctor. Using pain meds haven’t helped. I put topicaine to see if It would do anything and boy did it help!!!!! I just wish it was made in a larger tube. Everyone is different but it’s worth a try!

Great for electrolysis
I've been using this product for almost 2 years and it works very well for me. It's very true that you need to give yourself a minimum of 30 minutes to let it kick in after application. I usually give myself enough time between application and electrolysis (45 minutes to an hour). With that time-frame electrolysis is almost pain-free... Discomfort in super-sensitive areas will still occur but it won't be so painful. Aside from numbing the area for treatment, it actually makes my skin feel softer. I find that to be a plus. However, my only problem is that product description states that it "does not dry out upon application like other products." When I first started using it, I tried to use a sparing amount (this stuff ain't cheap but I am!). Now, I find that I get the best results when I use A LOT of this product when I do applications and that I need to cover treatment area with a clear plast wrap (per my electrologist's suggestion, since it did seem to dry out somewhat). Voila, it does it's thing and I can get beautified essentially pain-free. =) So here's the gist of it: (1) it works (2) use a lot especially in sensitive areas (3) cover it area with plastic wrap to reduce any dry-out (for me, it helps the active ingredients work it's way into your skin) (4) not cheap, but i find that it's cheapest on amazon (thank god, that i only go to electrolysis twice a month now so the 113 gram bottle lasts me about a year)

Relieves itchy painful rash.
I ordered this in a small tube and was very disappointed because the cap was very hard to open. I ended up tearing it as I tried to open it so I was not very happy. I love this larger tube. It works well and not only taking the pain away and it also works on itchy rash. It is expensive but worth it. I ordered it again.

will not be ordering this again
probably works fine for hemorrhoids but I bought it for a topical anesthetic, for pre- treatment hair removal almost no numbing at all.

I highly recommend
I originally bought this product to help with pain relief during laser hair removal treatment which I can tell you is very painful. This product did not get rid of the pain but it certainly helped me get through the treatments. I have also used it prior to my tattoos and it helps with that as well.

Completely NUMB!! Awesome.
This is a great product to use prior to getting a tattoo. You have to apply it correctly to get full effect. You will be numb. I love it. I will never get tattooed again without this product. Hands down excellent!! I am on my third tube.
