Great, reliable old product
This stuff is great for getting road grit, grime and blacktop/tar off of car finishes. It is NOT really a scratch remover although people use it for this. If you are trying to remove a scratch with this stuff, be prepared for a lot of work and elbow grease, as the product is not really perfect for deep scratch removal, regardless of what the advertising says. When Turtle Wax says "scratch removal" they are probably referring to the kind of light spider webbing in the clear coat finish that comes from rough cloths or road grit, not DEEP scratches that go down to the metal. For this kind of scratch "removal" (this word is misleading; the best most polish can do is HIDE the scratch somewhat by blending it into the surrounding finish), I use 3M Auto Care Rubbing Compound, 03900, 8 oz, which is sold "for professional use only." They say this because it is possible to remove the paint if you get too rambunctious with it, so some degree of care and finesse is required. As for the Turtle Wax polishing compound, it is for a lighter duty application. Also, it works great with faded headlight lenses and is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than most products sold for that purpose.

for removing some bad scratches off door panel caused by a very heavy ...
Used this product for 2 different applications. 1, For headlight restoration. 2, for removing some bad scratches off door panel caused by a very heavy and windy storm that dragged a metal reclining lawn chair across a yard and into car. For headlight restoration this thing was awesome. DO NOT buy one of those headlight restoration kits, buy this instead. It is by far much cheaper, it works, and it serves the dual purpose of a scratch remover. All you need to restore your headlights is this polishing compound, a slightly damp rag ( any rag will do ), and a bucket of water. It's that easy. Dab some compound onto your rag, scrub onto headlight, rinse with some water from bucket, repeat if necessary, wipe and dry off with dry side of rag. These are original 1999 headlights with wear of over 170,000 miles without ever being restored. As a scratch remover it took a lot more elbow grease to get it off. It worked for the most part. It took about 4 or 5 rounds of rubbing heavily into scratch, wiping off with a microfiber cloth and letting rest ( also resting arm ) for 5 or 10 minutes at a time. Finish up with a wax job to help protect the clear coat. My suggestion is to try this first for scratches and if you can't get it out then go for the heavier Nu Finish scratch remover. The idea is that you want to take it easy on the clear coat especially if your car is old and the paint wasn't maintained well. Conclusion, buy this. Great bang for the buck

Pros: - This polishing compound does a great job bringing back the shine to car paint that has been treated with rubbing compound - The tub gives you a lot of product, easily enough for 4 - 6 complete car jobs - Works great with hand application and rotary buffer Cons: - If you let any polish dry on any car panels or glass for too long, it takes a lot of elbow grease to remove. Because the polish is white, it leaves very noticeable splatter - Polish is a paste, so it does dry much faster than its liquid equivalents Overall, this product is a great value. You can't beat the price and it does its job well so long as you cover up any parts of the car you aren't working on and you are quick to clean up after any splatter as it happens. It's also important to note that this polishing compound is made gritty enough to help remove lighter scratches and overspray. If you have deeper scratches or heavy oxidation, this polish will still work, but will require more passes with your rotary buffer. While this polish does give a pretty good shine, if you find it lacking you may consider following up with a finishing polish

BEWARE: Only works on micro scratches!!!
Bought this because my car got scratches from a wire for a car cover that was blown over in a thunderstorm. I was cynical at first based on some of the reviews, but wanted to give it a try anyway. It was easy to use. Get a damp microfiber towel, put some compound on it, and wipe in a back and forth motion. Then wipe away with a dry microfiber. Got to say, it works, but only on very small light scratches that is hardly noticeable unless you look at it really closely. On a little bigger or deeper scratches, it won't work at all. I am glad it works on the micro scratches, but I should have listened to the reviews as it couldn't do anything more If you buy this for anything other than superficial scratches, ie minor scratches on the clear coat, then you will be sorely disappointed. Just know what you are buying and what this is capable of. You have been warned!

Removed Hand Sanitizer Stains
I bought this because I had tried several products to remove several annoying whitish alcohol-based stains where I accidentally spilled hand sanitizer on the console of my car due to my paranoia during the early COVID-era (April 2020). Since that time I've searched the internet for suggestions, and tried a few products I had on hand (including one from a well-known car detailing brand. I also got my car detailed, hoping that would work but had no luck there. This is the only product that worked. It took a bit of elbow grease, but got the stains out of the metal. I dabbed a decent amount on a dry cloth, then on the stain itself, let it sit for a second or two, then rubbed it in - either back and forth or in circles - with some force. I buffed it with a clean section of the cloth and then removed final traces of the product with another part of the cloth. The first time I did this I noticed some of the stain was disappearing so I just repeated the process several times until the stain was gone. This worked perfectly on the metal portion of my console and very well on the clear plastic part. It didn't do much on the darker (plastic?) part. I wish I took pics, but this product worked well for my purpose.

For very light scratches
When I originally bought this the product image shown was for a light to MEDIUM polish. So I was pretty disappointed when I got one that was labeled just for light polishing (a different container than the one you see now). I used it anyways to see if it worked for the slightly deeper scratches on my car, which it didn't. I then used it on my oxidized headlights, that also didn't work that well for the condition that they're in. Now they have updated the images on the product page so I will update my review. This product is intended for light scratches (surprise), and nothing more. I used a drill with a polishing wheel and polished all the micro scratches on my trunk and it did the job. I do like how the product smells but that might just be me.
