Clear Nutrition Drink, 0g fat, 8g of protein, Blueberry Pomegranate, 10 fl oz, 12 Count, 10 Fl Oz (Pack of 12)

I am allergic to milk and never learned to like milk or milk-tasting products so do not like the flavor of any of the protein drinks which taste like milkshakes. I searched and searched for years until I found this Ensure Clear Nutrition Drink with 8 grams of protein per bottle. Granted, 8 grams is not a huge amount of protein but it is enough to give me the protein boost I need if I drink 2 of them each day. It is non-fat and does not contain a lot of sodium, either, both things I have to be cautious about. All of the flavors taste nice and there is NO AFTERTASTE! Not even a smidgen of one! My mother-in-law (she switched to these from regular Ensure after tasting mine one day) likes to say that "These taste like something one would sip poured over ice while sitting on the porch on a hot summer afternoon." and she is right because these do taste delicious, light, fruity, and refreshing and we have, indeed, sipped on our Ensure Clear while sitting on the back deck on a hot summer afternoon as we watched the boats in the cove, the neighbor children fishing from their dock, and turtles the size of dinner plates as they climbed out of the water to sun themselves on the branches of a tree which had fallen into the lake many summers ago only to plop themselves right back into the lake each time they were startled by a boat going by and then watch as those same turtles re-emerged a few minutes later to start their cycle of climbing, sunning, and plopping back into the lake again and again over the course of the afternoon. Our favorite way to enjoy the Blueberry Pomegranate flavor is to pour it over a couple of ice cubes and add a twist of lime. The Mixed Fruit flavor is not as strong a flavor and we do not like to risk it getting watered down from melting ice so we pour it over frozen berries - the frozen berries help keep the drink cold and we get to eat the berries when we finish the drink. In the autumn, we switch over to the Apple Flavor and serve the drink in a glass which has cinnamon sugar on the rim. These drinks are a little pricey but they are the ONLY protein drink which tastes good and has no aftertaste. **edited to add: We continue to use Ensure Clear Nutrition Drinks as we remain very happy with the product other than the price increases. We may eventually have to change to another product when we get priced out, but will remain faithful users until that time.

This drink is delicious and very refreshing

Tastes great and is easy on the stomach.

I had major jaw surgery that required a strictly liquid diet for nearly 3 months, nearly a year ago. In preparation for recovery, I had to stock up on powder and liquid essentials that would provide me the most adequate nutrients to help me heal. I had bought protein powder, a variety of nutritional shakes – Ensure Plus – and anything else that the surgeon gave me the OK for like soups. Having never tried protein powders or shakes before, I luckily tried them before the operation to realize that they were repulsive and if I had to drink strictly those two items, I would much rather just not drink anything at all. Instead, I sought alternatives. Luckily, I had a friend who had the same procedure done and had a similar adverse reaction to the thicker milk type beverages. She suggested Ensure Clear. For those 3 months, I effectively had a strict diet of soup, and Ensure Clear. Ensure Clear is exactly what it sounds like, it's a nutritional drink that has the taste and appearance of juice, which to my stomach at least is far more preferred than milky substances. It's sweet but doesn't taste too artificial to the point where my body begins to question its origins. It goes down easy, and admittedly it doesn't make you feel "full" but at least you can be assured that your body is getting a hearty amount of nutrients. As a whole, I would highly recommend Ensure Clear products if you need to go on a liquid diet and dislike milkier alternatives. I also recommend this as just a supplement to your daily diet, because even when I was given the go ahead to begin a soft foods diet, I continued to drink my excess Ensure and it did wonders in how I was feeling.
