i was able to get it installed. it worked just fine. i messed up a lot with installing it. given other reviews on here i found that experience relevant to this review. i attached the bolt first. when i tested the slide of the bolt it kept caching. making it hard to slide. it turned out i had over tightened the screws. loosening them a little fixed the issue. the bolt was secure to the door. yet slid along its track easily. i thought the latch itself would be a problem. i used the longer one. my door was recessed. and i couldn't see enough space to fit it between the door and frame. it fit fine though. i also tried to install the latch wrong side up. when i tightened the screws they went right through. i redid the same latch right side up and it mounted just fine. i should have looked up tips for mounting this sort of hardware. i didn't do the best at it. it is still working perfectly though.

First off , this is a great lock. I love how easy it is to use. I do find the screws were too short. & you have to watch which replacement screws you buy because the flat top can only be the same size as the ones it came with it fit in the hole or else it will not work. Take the screw with you to the hardware store

Product seems good for small doors or perhaps projects. Seems well made, just a little small for full size doors. I like that they came with two different styles of latch receivers or the female side. Nice finish and sturdy build.

I needed a cheap and effective solution and this fit the bill. I’m not great with directions especially those with no words. That said here is a tip: install the female part first (i.e. the part the lock slides into). THEN align the bolt and install that part. I recommend using painters tape or something to secure the pieces while marking/screwing. Once installed, both secure and attractive.

Super easy to install, took me about 5 minutes. And it works! My Bedroom door won't latch closed so my dogs and cat easily push it open and claim my bed. This is way easier and cheaper than getting my door rehung properly. Would be perfect to keep kids out too if you have the non furry kind. Only caveat is you can only use it while inside. Fortunately for me my bathroom opens to my room and the hall so I can lock it up and keep them out even when I'm not in there. It's small and not really an eyesore, either. Win win!

Purchased in September, 2022 for $10.32. Current price is $12.xx. Today product broke. The loop that holds door shut split apart. Both included loops are very thin material. Not usable until I fabricate or find a loop replacement. I’m confused that it says Belwith as product name because the packaging name is Security First. Upon searching for Security First found identical product for less than $8 which is appropriate pricing for item.

Inexpensive and simple to install and use. I bought it partially because it is rust proof, however the screws do not appear to be stainless steel. My suggestion is to substitute ss screws if you use this item in a hostile environment such as the beach.

The product is what I expected and it was delivered as advertised. The only thing I want to say, if anybody is reading this, is that the packaging was not completely sealed and the item fell right out. I was lucky to get anything at all.

I needed it on a door with the rectangular latch not the padlock shaped one. Basically it is impossible to fit as the hole is offset. I will have to get my Dremel out and cut it down. I would not recommend this to anyone without a Dremel. I would send it back but my wife likes the colour and knows I can sort it.

This is not a heavy duty item, and was needed just to keep a door closed, not to prevent unauthorised entry. It was easy to install, but as with any installation, care is needed to get it right : measure twice and have the right tools. A 3mm AO driver is needed for the screws; the slot for the tongue can be cut out with a 5mm twist drill. Keith Davies Jones
