By all means - Go for it!
I couldn't be happier or more impressed. I had tried the Fr*ud/D*ablo nets (probably a decade or more ago) but they were a miserable disaster and total waste of money, so my expectations were pretty low concerning these nets from 3M. Well, these net discs are fantastic; I'll never go back to regular paper/cloth-backed discs again. No more useless clogged discs, no more 12K RPM disc projectiles, no more 5-minute gritless discs, this is a really superior product for an excellent price. When sanding over numerous pine knots in several grits, there is zero resin loading on the disc. The durability of these discs and the grit retention is insanely good, regular discs can't even begin to compare. What's crazy is that these net discs are similar in price to average, and below average, regular AO discs. You can't lose. It doesn't occur often but, in this instance, performance exceeds cost. Good job 3M. I have soft density interface pads on all my H&L sanders. Adding that sponge cushion buffer to your backing pad makes the work so much easier and they add life to the primary pad. Sanding contours or rolling edges is so much smoother. With these discs on buffer pads, you can do anything and do it well. After 50+ years of woodworking I'm pretty depressed that I didn't give these 3M nets a shot years ago.

good sandpaper, but...
this is probably the best sandpaper i've ever used. no swirls left from stuff clogging the grit, it paired very well with my vaccum on the sander (thats to say it didnt leave anything left on the sandpaper), unlike the diablo sandner stuff i was using before. (dont buy that trash). it held up really well to sanding on this walnut end table i made, with only one disc, whereas with the diablo stuff i went through probably about 1 or 2 per 2 square feet of proper sanding and still ended up with grit swirls due to it crumbling apart while sanding. PROS: very high quality vents through the mesh very well to clear almost any and all dust out grit doesn't get caught on itself and create swirl marks like with some other brands CONS: rather pricey, i've seen it on other sites for a good bit cheaper, but the shipping on those sites is also absurd (we're talking 20 dollars for basic ground shipping), so you're probably spending the same regardless poorly designed box. would recommend having a separate sandpaper box to transfer all of it into once you open it

Best Sanding Discs Available
I have stopped using and even gave all of my Diablo sanding discs to a friend because these 3M Xtract Cubitron sanding discs are sooooooo much better than anything else available. There is truly no fair comparison to make. In most cases, I can even start sanding with a 120 grit instead of 80 grit and get better results in less time. I highly recommend that you use a vacuum attachment to remove all the dust possible while working, and these discs will stay much cleaner and cooler than the competition, allowing you to complete more of the project with far less consumption or waste. I usually buy them in a pack of 50, resulting in a cost of 69 cents per disc, which is a true bargain because I can easily use them 3, 4 or 5 times longer than any other disc. These are a pleasure to work with, and they actually make sanding more enjoyable than ever before. Try purchasing a small sample pack of various grits and you'll see what I mean. Then you'll be back to stock-up with larger quantities of each individual grit. These were a well-kept secret for the first couple years, but the secret is out now and they are worth every penny.

Just better sanding disks and cheaper to use
I've got about 10 hours now using these disks (in 120 and 180) and I'll never go back to paper disks. Yes, they cost around 2 times more than the name brand disks that I've been using (mostly Norton and Diablo), but they last 3-4 times longer, so I'm actually saving money. They also sand better (smoother) and collect dust better (when sander hooked up to a shop-vac). The only downside that I've run into is edge fraying. These aren't good for sanding into corners. They're great for flat surfaces, but if you're hitting corners/edges, then the edges of the disk will fray. It doesn't really affect the function of the disk, but just something to know.

Great product but needs additional purchase
Overall product does an amazing job, however, if you are using a regular orbital 5in sander. You will need to buy an interface pad so that it does not slide off.

Get a loop saver
I love this sand paper. I would recommend getting more than you would think and also getting a loop saver. the common complaints are they wear out quickly and it messes up your sanders loops. This is true but it' because it's a net material. The actual grit lasts forever and the loops wear out again because it's a net and they come through. Knowing that before hand, the performance of these are fantastic and the best discs I've ever used. Won't use anything else again. Also use a dust extractor or shop vac for the best performance.

Cubitron
Used a lot of sandpaper in 45+ years of woodworking and this is far and away the best paper that I have ever used. Cuts very fast and leaves a great finish even on soft woods like pine. The only draw back that I have found is when using it for sanding on the lathe - if you let the heat from the sanding get too hot it tends to melt the mesh. I just finished cleaning up some epoxy that I used on a critical joint and this sandpaper cut through it like it was a hardwood. I used one the crepe sticks to clean the epoxy off of the sandpaper and was able to continue using the disk. Recommended.

Time is money
This is hands down THE best sanding product I have seen! Does an amazing job sanding, and each disc lasts way longer than the cheap stuff. Be sure to connect your sander to dust extraction/shop vac and not only will it keep the discs from clogging with fine dust, but it will keep the disc cool and improve the quality of your sanding. Sands MUCH faster than cheap sanding discs. How much is your time worth?

Deja muy buen acabado al lijar , y permite excelente extracción del polvo. Lo unico malo es que yo compre 5” y recibi 6”. Tengo que recortar cada disco que use.

I have always purchased the 100 or 200 sanding disc packages for 20 or 30 dollars and never had any success as they wore out quickly and never removed much even when pushing hard on the tool. I finally read a report about 3M sanding products and tried them. They work fantastic. They are slightly more expensive but they really do the job they were intended for. Not only do they remove material without forcing your sander into the wood but when you take the disc off, just blow it off with air and its ready to use again. very impressed.

They work great on my Richardson 5” handstands but will not work my Festool sander.
