Steam Controller Wireless Receiver

I heard the usb dongles were still in production, and I was sick of the issues my steam controller was having over bluetooth (the range was fine, but other technical issues cropped up) I have a launch edition SC, but the included dongle broke years ago, so I ordered this replacement. After looking up a simple tutorial on how to pair my controller to the new dongle, it connected immediately and now using it feels much better than it did over bluetooth. Poling rate improvement, no connection issues and profiles swap much faster. The track pads and gyroscope also feel much better and less laggy and has no issues that might have cropped up when using the admittedly convenient but not intended bluetooth mode. If you need to replace the dongle to your steam controller, these work.

When it arrived it didn't work out of the box. I did some web searching and found out that out of the box it was set up as a Valve VR dongle but that there was a firmware update to switch it to the Steam Controller. That worked and the dongle works great. For me it was a minor issue but if you're not computer savvy it might be more difficult. But if yours doesn't work out the box that's what might be going on.

My pc doesn’t detect it

It works totally great, and comes in its own little box. The plastic shell around the USB feels super loose, and feels like an off brand receiver.

Easily able to pair my controller in Steam (Settings>Controller>Start Pair a Steam Controller>Hold X and Steam button on controller while off>Confirm Paired Device in Steam)

Great alternative to a MIDI. The range is okay and it allows me to access my desktop from my television in another room. Worth the money.

I wanted to get a second receiver so I could use the same controller on my Steamlink and PC without plugging the adapter in all the time. Unfortunately you need to rebind the controller every time, which ruins the point.

Worked perfectly - I lost my original receiver and this one had no issues.

If your computer is old or just sucks, then I would recommend this. It worked for me because my computer fit the first two categories.

Costs WAY too much for what it is, but you still have to get one if you happen to lose the original one.

Works great as an extra dongle as expected.
