Overall I love this device, especially for the price. Great screen quality, so many games, and so much customization available on the menu, controls, save states, and more. It was a little confusing at first but I feel like I mastered how to navigate it in one day. Plenty of helpful YouTube videos to hell customize and use.Limitations: SNES and PS1 frame rates can lag a little...apparently there are customization methods to make it run smoother but it isn't perfect on these. It advertises no duplicate games but there are multiple files for one game released in different countries. That being said, it has had every game I've looked up thus far. I still give it 5 stars, recommend it, and will be buying more as gifts.

Awesome little game! An almost endless stream of entertainment with sooo many games. Only negative would be that it really does take a while to figure out where to find the games on the device. And a little difficult to remember exactly which file you found it in. Not very self explanatory for anyone and especially a child. But once you spend a little time figuring things out its totally worth it!!! I bought it for my 8 year old son and after a couple of days I think he has it mastered.

These are my initial impressions, so I may update as needed.Unit powered on right out of the box, which suggests that someone tested the unit before shipping. I did some minor testing of my own, and put it on to charge, so I can't say much about battery life, but I don't expect great things there. Running an LCD screen with the volume at full blast is kind of my deal.The manual is....something. I've been into electronics my entire life (well, aside from that pesky liquid diet and diaper stage) and I've seen the entire spectrum. This one lands well into the broken English territory, but if you know basic electronics, you'll figure this out.The screen is bright and sharp, with no dead pixels.Sound can be surprisingly loud at full volume, which I approve of, and the sound quality is clean.Language defaults to EnglishSystem comes with a decent stock of emulators, and each emulator has at least some roms that show up on opening. Emulator choice is a little wonky, some picks I wouldn't have gone with when I build a system, but nothing terrible. I did encounter a weird bug, opening the SNES emulator took me to a handful of lettered folders with SNES roms within...but none of the roms would load. I reset the device, opened the same emulator, and those folders are gone. What now shows is a pretty standard folder selection. Opening the roms folder leads to folders broken down by system (rather than emulator name, which might be bad practice for a product market to newbies to emulation) and the SNES files are in a folder labelled sfc, which I'm assuming stands for Super Famicom System. The files in this folder work, but they aren't as numerous as what I initially found, and some titles I'd consider mandatory are now missing.I haven't played with the video viewer, music player, or e-book reader, nor am I likely to.Still need to hookup to PC and see how well file transfer works. But I also bought a 512gB memory card, may back up the existing card and swap out.Update 12/2023: Updating the firmware proved to be a PAIN. Took 4 or 5 attempts before I found the right version. Updating the firmware means you lose everything, so I had to re-download the ports and emulators, but there are more than what comes stock, so that's all to the good. There is a Discord channel for the RG300, and I found it to be very helpful.Cannot seem to access the second microSD card, but with a 512gb main card, that may not matter.3D printed a Fresnel lens mount (pictured) and that works extremely well. Makes text much easier to read.

Worth every penny. I purchased another emulator in the past, it dos the trick for a second. But with this one... there's honestly so much to choose from. Not just throw away unusual games.

Awful. Hard to navigate. RACIST AND OFFENSIVE GAME TITLES! Don't buy this for a kid.Also glitches ans froze after playing with it for 2 days. Returned.So sad. Was looking forward to playing some classic games on it.

Originally was using my phone to play my roms but wanted something physical to feel buttons and wasn't ready to shell up 100+. This little - about half the size of the original gameboy - is pretty cool. I really wanted it for Gameboy and SNES and this guy runs these perfectly! I had several issues running any of the sega ports and the ps1 roms ran absolutely terrible, do not buy this for the ps1 emulation. The sega stuff was hit or miss and even some of the roms pre installed for the GB, GBC, GBA, NES and SNES where pretty messed up and wouldn't load but lucky for me they weren't games I was too attached too, except for clayfighters but I have my own rom on my pc that works miles better that I may try and install on to this little guy later. Last two issues, she runs HOT, extremely HOT to the touch when running some of the GBA games and PS1 titles, I had to put it done a few times because it was just uncomfortable. But all the systems I mention before that I wanted it for - GB, GBC, NES & SNES minus the GBA - never got the system hot enough to annoy me. The speakers on this guy are also hit or miss, when they work its great but every now and again the sound just cuts off or starts really high. I got around this by tapping around the speaker and after a couple light taps the sound would pop back into place. There are a ton of excellent games, emulators and even skins to choose from - I haven't tried the music, video, or image play back because I have a phone for that stuff but if I do ill update this review. Oh! Lastly, the battery is Meh at best, running GB and SNES the battery stays pretty healthy but load up GBA, Gamegear or PS1 and BOOM! There goes all the charge in like 40mins. For the price and what I use it for, i'd say its a pretty good starter, all the games I already enjoy where preinstalled and work flawlessly. Its perfectly travel sized for a pocket, side of bag or just leaving near the restroom. I do think I'll be upgrading to the Anbernic RG351V in the future just cause its a looks slightly bigger and more sturdy, or just wait till my steamdeck shows up, but for now this is good little handheld emulator with some problems but if your like me and really just wanna play some GB, GBC and SNES games while waiting for Nintendo to port them then yeah i'd recommend this guy. This transparent edition is super cool looking too, glad I picked it over the standard grey version. Before I forget, the system uses "select and start" pushed simultaneously to open the emulators menus during gameplay on most emulators BUT NOT ON THE GBA and GBC emulators! For that you need to push the right shoulder button to open up the menu and access the scaler, quality, save states or exit the app. Just a friendly tip since the booklet didn't mention this anywhere. If they were to add one extra thing, I'd love a "favorites" section to mark the games I play most, cause is it a pain and a half scrolling through the hundreds of games in ABC order just to get to Super Mario land 2. This is really cool. It works really well but understand you are buying copyrighted games.
