People complaining aren't putting it together correctly.
First, I got the silver one. The top is absolutely aluminum. 2nd, people complaining about the top not being flat, aren't putting it together correctly. I did it wrong the first time and they are right it isn't flat. Took another look, rotated the table top 45 degrees and presto, a flat top. You really need to put the table top upside down on a fairly flat surface to press the legs in right. Light, easy set up, packed small. Can't beat that for my purpose.

Scratches easily but otherwise good

Nice and compact for storage but not very sturdy.
It's OK to set stuff on but don't put too much weight on it or press down. It will collapse. It had a coffee maker sitting on it and when I tried to push the Keurig lid closed it tried to collapse. It will work fine for what I mainly bought it for which is just as a side table for when we are camping and need somewhere to set our drinks and phones and such.
