Great for a small flock of chickens ok for ducks
I have 5 runner ducks and 2 chickens they have a half acre to forage on as well. I fill the food up full every other day. The feeder if you have ducks can become compacted as ducks eat with water so when I fill it up I check for compaction. When it does compact I just scoop it out with my hand it's always almost empty even if I find a compaction and it for the most part is rain and weather proof. Mine are exposed to the elements. They are easily fillable no fuss. For ducks the waterer is not ideal as they need to wet their entire beak but it is an easy way to offer fresh water. If you have ducks this should not be their primary water source they need a pool or bucket to clean their beak. I fill the waterer ever day some days empty other days it is not. I spray out the red resinous if they have mud in them. Over all it is very pricey. Knowing what I know now I probably would have chosen another option especially for the ducks but quality wise it is impeccable for what you pay for. This option is better for chickens but doable for ducks.

Highly recommended, used for over 2 years
I’ve been using Royal Rooster chicken feeders for the past two years, and love them! I wanted to update our watering system and grit holder, so I naturally turned to this company. The waterer is great- I don’t trust those “nipple” feeders, chickens drink by dipping their beaks into shallow water. These waterers fit the bill! The “duck feeder” is simply a larger version of their chicken feeders, with one plastic divider in the hooded part instead of two. The feeder does its job and is sturdy. I’ve priced out making these myself, and it’s cheaper to buy these from Royal Rooster than it is to buy all the PVC pipe and fittings. Plus, it’s 90% assembled with precise construction- certainly better than what I would do! I highly recommend Royal Rooster.

Not great.
The waterer leaked from day 1. No issues with the ducks using it. The feeder is small with a too-small opening for the ducks to get food out. The shape of the feeder bowl also doesn't allow moisture to escape leading to the bowl getting clogged with food crumbs. I have 4 ducks, 2 rowen, and 2 Peking. I would not use this again or recommend anyone buying them.

Feeder great but waterer is leaking
I purchased these for my chickens. I also have a type that is more of the small automatic dish type that I liked so I figured I’d give these a chance. These work on a “flapper” type mechanism. When the flapper gets too low it fills with water. One seems to have a faulty flapper so it just continues to fill with water until the unit is empty. It seems to be a design flaw because when I raise the flapper up manually the water stops but it just goes back to the original spot and the water flows again and there’s no way to adjust this. I noticed because only one of my waterers would be out by afternoon, I watched it and yea it was because the water just keeps running. Unfortunately I am a few days past my return date but my other one works well, I had ordered two sets. Maybe it’s just a faulty flapper… of course I didn’t see it until after the return date :(

Takes up little space in coop area gives hydration and meals to my ducks without crowding their space. Easy to fill and hang. Highly recommend.

Works good to limit mess but water one grows mold looking stuff in span of a day
I bought these for my chicken and rooster as a way to keep the feed and water clean. Wild birds kept coming and throwing parties in their food and water bowl so the design of this was better to keep other birds from doing that. So far works good for that. My rooster and chicken caught on very quick that this was their new water and food source. The water one I clean every day but it still gets a black layer that looks like mold in the spout area on the blue flipper. There are also small black circle marks in the water container iteself. I wash it out everyday so I am able to clean it before it sticks but it scares me that mold or something that looks like mold is growing so fast in this thing that's made to hold water. My old water bowl never got these black mold looking areas. Other than that I really like these things. I take down the food one at night to keep critters away.

Works great
Easy to put up and put together. Ducks started using it after a few days. I have 4 ducks and the water needs to be bigger to that many ducks, it does not last a day since the duck got big. Good amount for when they where little though.

Broke within a year
The plastic pieces on the back that hang these feeders and drinkers broke. The guard that goes over the top of the feed port also broke. The water attachments leaked water and are broken. These are way too expensive to break like this and after buying 4 including 2 chickens and 2 for my ducks, I am definitely not recommending these. Lastly, in the summertime that PVC heats up even in the shade and the water gets really hot in there it’s just not a good solution in my opinion

Not bad, but…
I prefer dine a chook for the same price, they have carry handles on the screw down lids so you can take them to the water not the other way round. I use the feeder for partridge as the ducks I have would clog it up in no time, I think they’re better off with a washable, removable horse rubber feed bucket. All works though, not bad delivery and looks clean and tidy.

Fonctionne bien
