We bought these to replace the boring, white string lights we had on our home and over the patio. Hanging them took some time, but set up was easy and the color options are phenomenal! You can customize each and every individual bulb or by string or you can pick from their wide array of themes. The app is easy to use and allows for saving your favorite custom selections., The options range from steady on to 'dancing' lights. We were so happy with the lights, we bought a second set! As for the GOVEE company. We did experience an issue where the power cord stopped working on the lights. This happened after 6 mos of having the lights installed. We reached out to the company via email from their website. We explained we knew it was the power cord because we used the cord from the second set. GOVEE was extremely responsive and asked for a brief video showing the issue. We provided the video and within 24 hours they had another set mailed to us. We were expecting just a power cord to replace the one we took from the other box, but they sent an entire new set! I would also give GOVEE 5 stars for their stellar customer service!

These Govee string lights are seriously awesome. I got the 96ft version (two 48ft ropes), and they’ve completely leveled up my backyard setup. The colors are super bright and fun, and I love that you can also switch to a warm white for a chill vibe. The app is easy to use, and the lights work great with Alexa. I’ve set up different scenes for parties, dinners, and even just relaxing at night. It’s also cool being able to control everything from my phone without having to go outside. They’ve held up great through some bad weather too—no issues at all with rain or wind. Everything feels solid and well-made. If you're looking to add some smart, colorful lighting to your patio or backyard, I totally recommend these. Great quality, easy to set up, and they just look amazing!

I was looking for some lights to not only use at Christmas but to keep up all year for just hanging out on the patio. These Govee lights fit the bill to a T. I had bought one other Govee product at that point (PC lighting) and loved it so I thought I'd give the brand another shot. These lights (got two strands so 96 feet) work perfectly! They seem to be well made and the ability to connect them to their app makes them so easy to control too! I love these! Pros: Seem to be very well made. Connects easily to the app. Totally controllable from the app. You can pick different light setups that are on the app (which I did for Christmas as they had like 5 different themes you could do premade) or you can totally make your own rules. You can control every individual light and have it be whatever color you want. It's a little bit of a pain to do but I messed around with it and had some cool patterns going. My favorite part is I have the lights set up on a timer. Every day at 4pm the lights come on and they turn back off at 11:30pm. I never do a thing unless I want to change something. You can even open the app and turn them on like at noon (dark rainy day) and they'll turn on and then it goes into the scheduling and turns off at the 11:30 mark. Very cool! Great light set! Cons: Just two things I can think of... 1) You can only turn them on or off unless you use the app ( and only white steady on) so if you hate having to use apps I'd leave these alone. 2) The controller that is between the end of the light strand and then the power cord doesn't appear to be waterproof. I wouldn't trust that it is anyway. Kinda weird when they are outdoor lights. I bought a waterproof box to keep it watertight. You can barely see the box in the bottom right of my picture.

Pictured, a small portion of my Govee lights heading for the trash! Over a $1000 wasted and a hundred hours of careful planning and installation. Sickening! I decided to turn my backyard into a hotel quality experience. I invested heavily in low voltage lighting to really accentuate the layout and beauty of the patio. I went with Govee mostly because of the ecosystem, all controlled by a single app. The app, for the most part, works very well. And I've enjoyed playing with it. Regrettably, and when I say regrettably I mean to the EXTREME, I've become a slave to Govee products. I have over 20 instances of their indoor and outdoor lighting products. Their indoor products for the most part have worked reliably. However, there is not a single outdoor product that has not already failed me at least once. Many have failed multiple times. I am OCD when it comes to installation, my father taught me do it right the first time so you don't have to do it again. Unfortunately, both the power supplies and the controllers are constantly failing. And you cannot simply replace them you have to replace the entire product. Meaning I have to get back up on ladders, crawl on my hands and knees, and remount, replace, and retest each and every time there is a failure. Such a huge DISAPPOINTMENT! For two years now I have been chasing one failure after the next. I can honestly say there has not been one gathering of family and/or friends, where I've had several of the products out of service. It looks horrible, it looks like my DIY efforts have failed, when in fact the only failure was my choice to go with Govee. I do want to give them credit, with each failure they have worked with me to resolve the issue, and sent me multiple replacements. But at this point, they could back a truck up full of their product to my house and I would ask them to take it away because I simply don't have the time to deal with the constant failures. I will start where I began, I REGRET that Govee products do not work more reliably. They've done a great job with their smart app Wi-Fi control. But at this point with each new failure I'm replacing it with an equivalent that is NOT GOVEE. It's almost certain at this failure rate I will not have any more outdoor Govee product within 6 months. Govee, I'm done!

LOVE my patio lights! I've had them for over a year and they are still going strong. They re easy to use, you can program them individually or choose from a bunch of presets. They have held up in Newfoundland weather !! A wonderful mothers day gift that I would recommend to anyone.

This product is super cool. It’s nice and long, almost 100 feet (30 bulbs spread over 96ft I think it was…), and the styling is nice the way the lights hang off the main cord. One of my favorite features is the fact that they are plastic bulb covers, so you don’t have to worry about hitting them together or dropping them and glass breaking, or the bulbs burning out since they are LED and last forever. The app to control them was very easy to install and connect to the lights, and it lets you control the color of each one of the 30 bulbs individually, which is the coolest feature. There are also a whole bunch of premade color/movement patterns built in. They have made themed ones for almost any occasion (Christmas, Halloween, Birthday), as well as ones to mimic places like carnivals or nighttime skylines, and things you find in nature like galaxies, sunsets, fireflies, or ocean waves. They’ve even got ones to match your mood. They are all really fun and there are too many options to list. Highly recommend and will likely purchase more for other areas. Would work great as Christmas lights wrapped around an evergreen. These will go around the deck come summer time. Got them because Costco had a set that was half the length for $60 on sale, but they had nowhere near the amount of features that this string does. I wanted to see comparables on Amazon and saw these on sale for just under $100 as the deal of the day, so pulled the trigger, and I’m SO glad I did. They are so fun, easy to use, well made, and stylish. 10/10.

Great lighting features but had some issues with shipment I initially loved the Govee Smart Outdoor String Lights. They offer vibrant colors and tons of lighting options, from carnival scenes to custom modes you can create with AI or find online—all easily controlled through the app. They're perfect for mood lighting, not for bright illumination, but they add such a unique ambiance. Unfortunately, my first shipment might have been damaged as the box looked like it had been dropped, and the lights stopped working after a few weeks. Despite that, I love the product so much, I’ll be trying them again because the value is great for what you get.

This review is for the 48ft Govee outdoor string lights. As mentionned by others, the lamps are great and the app works just fine (Tested on android). Simple to adjust from your phone on the go and fairly easy to use. The colors and brightness are fine, the little hooks built on each lamp base make it for an easy setup. Again, as mentionned by others just be careful to keep the plug and built in controller out of the water despite the ratings.
