I have several guitars , gibson, fender ,peavy and i saw this guitar , i loved the design , read reviews and decided to buy it . Well “ right out of the box this guitar was ready to play except for tuning the strings . I plugged it in and started playing , and i was amazed at how it sounded and how it felt , the intonation was dead on , the action was almost perfect , i had plans to upgrade the pickups , and put a bone nut , i probably will wait quite a while to upgrade the pickups , the ones on it thru my marshal iss amazing , it has a 70s kinda sound and is great . I still will put a bone nut , but i am really happy with this guitar , it is built well and the quality on this 1 is great , i have a les paul i spent over 1,000 for , and i say this one is just as good maybe even better . If you are new or been playing a while , you wont be disappointed, the only thing i did was , took the strings off , oiled the fretboard with fret oil , put 9 gauge strinfs and tuned it up , i played about 4 hours and i really like this guitar , definitely worth more than the price asking .

Yeah thats my son giving a look of approval when it arrived. I was out of town told him to send a photo.. I do builds.. edits... upgrades.... and repair on guitars. I bought this as one of my edits. Overall? Yeah needs a good intense setup... Yet. Thats to be expected even with instruments alot more money. I was rather impressed. Grover tuners... The finish is nice. Seems to be straight. Yet as I broke it down to see what i was going to add and upgrade... I found the electronics very wanting. The 3 way switch was falling apart at the hinge. And the craftsmanship was.. Well hurried. Glue drips off the neck joint.. Clear coat way too thick in cavities. That effects tone guys.. Thin coats... None internally. So that will be sanded or stripped out.. Put at least sheild paint in there and continue on. Like I stated. If this guitar was my first or even my spare guitar id have little to say negative. Other than it pops and craclles cuz the electrical setup is wanting. I build guitars from kits... Old parts.. Take junk... And make it play... And play well... After all not everyone can afford $800+ on a production model guitar. Or repairs that cost 10x the value of a guitar grandpa gave you. Thats where I come in. Getting strings in the fingers of those who otherwise couldnt afford anything worth playing. Or taking the laughable pos that sat in aunt julies basement since 1978 busted sad dejected and ashamed. Breathing new life into it. Make it play better than it ever dreamed of... even new. Every guitar deserves to dance at the ball... No matter how dirty and busted.. Thats my motto. Anyway... Its cool for the money... If my edit draws intrest ill be buying more... Because there is NO way I can compete with a guitar that is just over 200$. Its well worth it.. Just get a good setup and enjoy.

Verrrrry cool present from my Wife. Unexpected. When I opened the Box I was Shocked that it was from Amazon. I've never bought a guitar online or one that I didn't play first. This really surprised me, after a set up (neck, action, pickup height and intonation adjustments) its actually a really NICE Guitar. Before the set up, unplayable. E, A & D saddles needed to be turned around for intonation to be possible. I'd never compare it to a my old Gibson. However, Compared to other guitars I've played in Sam Ash, Guitar Center and local shops near me, this Guitar is definitely more than worth the selling price. I'd say its comparable to at least a new $400 guitar. The Grover tuners look great and they work well. It stays in tune better than my OLD Gibson SG ever did. Pots are smooth and not scratchy. Fret work, fret board, Nice after a cleaning and oiling. Pickup switch and output jack could be better. Over all, IMO, this is a GREAT Guitar for the price. I added a pick guard and silver/black control knobs. Was planning to upgrade to some blk Wilkinson hardware (bridge and saddle) new pickups and locking tuners, but its not necessary. The Guitar looks Great the way it is, stays in tune and the pickups are GOOD. I'm going to keep it the way it is for now. I definitely recommend this Guitar for a beginner who knows someone who can do a set up. If I was a beginner I wouldn't know what to do with this when I fist opened the box. I hated my 1st guitar, it buzzed, when it was in tune chords would be out of tune, it NEVER stayed in tune, etc... Very discouraging. Now I know whats up with that stuff and its easily fixable. A beginner may not know what to do. Beginners should, I think, go to a guitar store for their 1st Guitar. One that is already set up or pay someone to set THIS up. Its worth paying for a set up for this guitar. So, I'm Not comparing this to a Gibson. For the price, the quality, sound, feel and over all everything, I give it 4.5 stars for quality/price. Pick guard- KAISH Black 3 Ply LP Guitar Pickguard with Black Bracket for Epi Les Paul Control knobs - Musiclily Pro Metric Size 18 Spline Electric Guitar Speed Knobs for Epiphone Les Paul SG Asia Import Guitar Bass Split Shaft Pots, Chrome. Update--- Over one year later, this is still my go to. I have other Guitars I've paid MUCH more for (Gibson LP, BC Rich, Jackson, Ibanez). This one is the one I'll always have out and play 1st. Changing things and updating a guitar is something I do to them all, even the Gibson, so its modified and will continue to be, like all the rest. I Still recommend and will probably get another one soon. All new wiring, switch, jack and Alnico 2 pickups. Original tuning pegs. Update 2 - 6/24/25 Still the guitar I keep next to me in the livingroom. Annnnd, I got the Matte Black. Blacked everything out and gutted it. New Pots, wires, capacitor, switch, tuners, etc... Wasn't necessary, just wanted to. Update 3 - 11/25 - Matte black is my #1. Gutted it again and installed the ZW EMG kit. Very Good guitar. Love em' both. I still recommend them.

I bought the US flag single cutaway version as the foundation for a project, so all I cared about were the fundamental aspects: Mahogany body, mahogany top, mahogany neck, laurel fretboard, stainless steel frets, Grover tuners, and nice paint & finish. And this has all of that. No obvious dings or cracks in the finish or binding was a nice plus. My intent even before buying was & is to swap the pickups out for an EMG 81/85 active pickup set, swap out all the electronics accordingly, give it a complete fret leveling & recrown as needed, dial in the intonation, and give it the best action setup it can handle. So because I plan to do all this work on it, any of it that the factory has already done WELL will just be more nice plusses for me, and I won’t be mad about having to do any or all of it. And that’s how you should really approach buying this - or any - guitar at less than $200. Don’t expect a professional-quality player right out of the box at this price-point. Instead, expect that you’re going to have to do some work to it to bring it up to your playing standards. But if you’re like me - a closet luthier in addition to a closet rockstar - that’s half the fun anyway, right? By the time I’m done with what I intend to do with it, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better playing / better sounding guitar for $400 (which is what I will have invested into it at that point). Another $100 or so for all-black hardware, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a better looking guitar - period. A solid foundation for my project, Leo Jaymz. Thanks!

When I ordered this guitar I thought it’s cheap, probably arrive damages or broken. I carefully unboxed the guitar that was in a protective bag and styrofoam cut out for shipping. Everything was fine upon opening. After a quick tune I plug it in, H.O.L.Y S.H.I.T. I couldn’t believe it had true Humbucker sound! At most it just needs a set up and #9’s for me. It comes with 10’s. The finish is flawless. I thought a flag guitar would be cool, but for $180 I didn’t expect much. Absolutely has no cosmetic flaws. Beautiful. The fretboard a frets are done well and the tuner keys are authentic “Grovers”, card on the string and all. The headstock and neck are damn near spot on and the nut really is bone! The frets ends are beveled and super hard Blackwood fretboard with set in neck. All mahogany. The pot are smooth with speed hats. The pick up selector switch seems light. Everything is installed and secured properly. The action was high, but again, that’s part of the set up. I’m taking it to Kyle at GC Tempe, Az. to set it up, change the strings, lower the action and check intonation. It also comes with a patch cord. All in all I’m impressed at almost every level of this guitar. For $179 what do you expect? Especially since I’ve been playing 50 years and played many fine fiddles and own a real LP, SG etc. myself. I’m now going to put some black P-90 pick ups in it with the set up. (Going for the 50’s sound) Incredible performance for $180. I’m sure I’ll be playing this one for a while. Strongly recommended UPDATE: 10.29.23. Last pic is most current. I had Kyle GC Tempe, AZ install neck/bridge P-90 humbucker sized pick ups and set it up. This guitar sounded good right out of the box, and I was hoping for the Les Paul 1953 sound. Well… This is insane, Kyle set it up, intonation, etc and the pick ups. I can honestly say it’s so close, it’s not a Gibson LP, but I can only tell the difference in Leo Jaymes and Gibson is Leo’s P-90’s are nuts. (I’ll save the P-90 sound dissertation) so yah… best sounding Paul in the bunch for $179 guitar, set up $100, $40 pick ups. And BTY, it’s a “synthetic” nut, self lubing and harder than bone and the sustain and resonance can’t be overstated. Leo’s LP is my cheapest LP, yet now it’s close to my favorite. Definitely the most versatile. Incredible quality. Not one person’s walked by this LP and not said “oh, cool”. It is. Sounds better and the flag speaks for itself. Strongly recommend.
