I love this thing!! The only drawback is that I can't see how to replace the bulbs. After trying to find info I just bought another one. I do seed bead weaving and this thing is the best! I had my first one for many years and can't see myself without it!!

Magnifying area us not fully usable. Only center due to obliqueness of lenses near edges. So the bigger the lense the more actual viewing capability.

I bought this magnifying glass, so my husband could tie flies for fishing. Even with his glasses, he has trouble seeing small pieces, but he needs both of his hands to tie. The magnifying glass is blurry unless you are directly under it and very close to it. I tried to read a book using it, but I couldn’t believe the book on the table and look through the glass. I had to hold it right up to the glass which means I could not see the entire page. I returned it.

Very pleased with this product. I like that it plugs in (does not need batteries). Good magnification strength for me.

Overall . . . quite effective as a table-top magnifier. 10x is good for stamps, insects. removing splinters, etc. I wouldn't use it for reading, because the field isn't broad enough for the page of a book. The lens isn't glass, but it is heavy acrylic plastic and seems sturdy. The lights swivel, but they illuminate the field of view at the extreme angle. You could swap the magnifier for a tiny lamp shade, but I wouldn't buy it for just the LED lamp - there are better, brighter lamps available. I use it for pinning insects, and the working distance is perfect for me - just the height of the "head" at a 90 degree angle, or about 6.5" above the table top. The base is heavy, which keeps the magnifier from tipping. I would have only given 4 stars because it is mostly plastic, but then the price vs value is very good - so it's truly excellent in it's category. Note - an 8x version is available, and given the good quality of this unit, I would think the 8x would be better for reading with the book resting on the table.
