Is there a lid so that the balls don't roll out if I transport it in the trunk of my car?

There is no lid, but there are two fiberglass (?) bars which move into place preventing the balls from falling out. I put a full baskek in my trunk and have not had one ball "escape." The ball basket is great (I got rid of an older, very heavy, all metal Hoag), and am very happy with the purchase.

There are two rods confined in slots on each side of the top. When the rods are positioned closest to one another by squeezing them together, the resulting configuration prevents the balls from rolling out of storage.If you're asking if there is a cover to prevent the balls from getting wet if it rains, then no, that is something you'd have to rig up. But with the top in restraining position, the balls are secure even if you invert the container to pour them out.

Has any owner of this one used Gamma Ballhoopper Pro Plus 110 (holding 110 balls) before? How's the weight and maneuverability in comparison? Tkx!

The weight is not a problem. The wheels are great to roll it around the court. Only problem is the screws for the wheels fell off and one of the wheel came off. I have to replace the screws and now I keep a close eye on the screws. This is a great Ballhoopper. I teach tennis to small kids and they love to use it to pick up the balls.
