High quality struts
These are amazing. I used them for a trap door. The weight is calibrated properly. Very quick and easy install. It's sturdy and durable. It's easily compatible since it has a swivel and the functionality is exact as described.

Great product
Worked out excellent for my cellar door. I did have to move the location and angle to get the right strength/angle to hold the door up the way I wanted it. So, if you use these and they don’t work, just take a breath and take them back off, try again. This application used a 4x8, 3/4” treated sheet of plywood along with 1x6 treated boards for the trim to make to more sturdy. Dang thing was heavy and dangerous if it falls. These gas shocks were the ticket. My wife can grab the handle and pull it up. Pulling it down is a bit stiff, but acceptable. I added a pull rope for underside so I can be down the stairs a bit. Great improvement and should last.

RV under bed storage. Works great and supports the weight.
We bought the BedStory 14 inch Firm Queen Mattress for our RV. The mattress was a bit too heavy for me to lift to get to the storage compartment under the bed. My husband bought this to support the weight and now all is good again. Lifting it up is easy for me now. Fits fine, functions properly, stability is great and lid lift operation works just fine now. My husband did the installation in just minutes.

Mounting bracket holes.
The struts are well-made and can take a heavy beating. The instructions were easy to follow and presented no issues for a DIY install. I also looked at several videos that explain the process in similar steps, which really helped. The only issue or fault encountered with it is the 8mm mounting holes. ENTIRELY too big. After several attempts to reduce the size of the hole using grommets. I gave up and ordered new brackets with 4mm mounting holes. After installing them on my Clam Lid for my worktable, I realized they were too strong for the weight, so I had to purchase another lift with half the capacity.

Wrong struts sent.
Ordered struts from ARANA for storage cabinet I have built. Lid weighs 93 pounds. Order was for a pair of 445N 20" struts. The vendor's description on Amazon specifically states they are for lids 85 to 110 pounds. I mounted them on the cabinet and lid. I am glad I had a safety strut in place when I released the lid because it came down very rapidly because they could not support the lid in any way, shape, or form. I began to check the order information, packaging, etc. to make sure I had not made an error. When I examined the shipping label on the plastic sleeve that contained the struts, I noticed the part description on the label had been altered. The load value 100 LB had been crossed out and the number 35 had been written above it in pen. No wonder the lid came down rapidly when I released it. I am assuming there was some kind of mix up during packaging somewhere during the process. Possibly the wrong label was put on the sleeve for a pair of 35 LB struts and it was manually corrected but the bar code was never updated. These struts are going back immediately for a refund. I will shop elsewhere for a proper pair of struts Be sure to read the label carefully if you purchased from ARANA. PS - If your life experience has taught you to be a skeptic like me your thoughts may be I did the overwrite. I can assure you T did not. It's so easy to return Amazon purchases it makes no sense to do so. Beside my printing has never been as good as what is on that label and now being in my mid 70's with arthritis in my fingers it's even worse.

Weight calculations...
I'm not gonna be super mathematical here but... I ordered the 150lb set. I'm 200lbs and my body weight wasn't enough to compress ONE shock. That's about 400+ lbs of lift force for the 150lbs kit. I manage to angle them just right and find the proper leverage to get them to work but it was kind of an edge-mah-kated guess at best. They came out fine and they work great but there's alot of unnecessary force being applied somewhere under there. Anyway if you pay attention to the "very detailed" picture in the add it says to weight the end of the door vertically at about 45" from the hingle?? Lol idk about that.. whoever's reading this might be smarter than me and thats ok but.. to the rest of us.. good luck!

Very strong so size correctly.
These struts are legit. I do recommend that you pay attention and calculate the weight you are lifting and give it a solid support. I only needed one for my 11 foot by 5 foot pool equipment cover.

It is not very often that I take the time to write a review; I am either extremely displeased, or extremely pleased. In this case, it's the latter. The struts are safely packaged with clear unpackaging and mounting instructions; best read them before you get all excited and poke one end of a strut into your gut. The mounting brackets do not come with mounting bolts or screws. I understand this since the mounting surface and thickness will vary in many cases. The brackets however do not include lock washers and should because the nuts securing the strut to the bracket can easily back off. The struts work extremely well as long as you (once again) read the notification provided by the seller before selecting the correct length and weight strength. I built a decent quality generator box with the cover shaped like a standard hip roof including shingling etc. for water proofing. . The struts did exactly as advertised. In my case, I can lift the cover with my small finger. Awesome deal and great price.
