PULACO Aquarium Internal Filter 3 to 20 Gallons, for Turtle Tanks, Reptiles, Amphibians, Frog, Cichlids, Newt or Fish Tank

As mentioned before I am an Engineer as well as a long time Cat Rescuer. At one time we have had 18 cats living full time in our home with us. We have also lost several to kidney disease. Two factors contribute - Dry Food (ALWAYS FEED WET as primary) and not free drinking enough. We are writing a book on 34+ years rescuing cats and painful lessons learned. Good sources of clean water they willingly drink from is a MUST. I had tried many water fountains for cats with bad results ranging from falling apart, to hard to clean/re-assemble, to virtually no filtering. I had the idea to try to repurpose fish or reptile water fountains/filters. As a lower cost alternative to the awesome, but much more expensive commercial cat filter/stream we have also. Some of our cats prefers this one and others the expensive one. All I do is have a very large (11" wide) stainless steel water bowl, a Mason Quart Jar, and velcro straps (looking for silicon rings instead) to hold the jar to the filter and stabilize both AND reduce the splatter from the waterfall. Works like a charm and low cost enough to have two...one clean and ready while the other is cleaned. Filters are easy to find, lasts long time, and low cost to maintain unit. So far we have been running two of these in two rooms for over a year (this third one is to have the cleaning rotation mentioned above) I highly recommend this one for both needs...aquatics and cats. Its a great product i just had to remove the little sponge part on the filter because my turtle started to chew on it he wouldnt swallow it just rip it up, keeps my 10 gallon turtle tank very clean i use to clean his tank every week but now i do it every 3 weeks also very quiet not loud at all, and cheap and easy to use ive had it for about 3 months now.

Perfect for my turtle she goes under it all the time and it keeps the water very clean.

This stopped working after 2 weeks. I have another filter also, so my tank was crystal clear. This just stopped working out of nowhere.

I ordered this filter for.prime day specials. After taking a week to get here It came damaged and incomplete . There were no sponges and the filter lid was cracked. So returned it and I tried to just have the item exchanged but I had to get a refund then reorder at a different price because it wasn't under prime day anymore. I know it was only a few dollars but it is the principle. I feel like I was sent a crappy item just for prime day then couldn't exchange it for the same price. Because the defunked item took a week to get here. Filter was not even wrapped in plastic it was just the box with a shipping label on it. The filter I am.sure works fine the new one is coming today which now that it's not prime week can mange to get here overnight So the filter sounds great it is the scam of prime week I have a problem with.

I had acquired a baby snapping turtle ,, and she needed to be nursed to strength and fed and then released back to the wild. she was frozen and appeared to have been caught by a bird and just dropped in the middle of a neighborhood .. I was sure she was far away from home... it was in the 40's that day . she was so tiny but she also needed fresh clean water. sand to burrow . the water a specific temperature . and the right evening warmth and the right lighting for uva uvb I was worried because I needed fresh water ( snappers have not very un nasty poops even babies ) and I wanted her to have fresh water .. I was so grateful that this worked in just a couple inches of water . and I made the other side a beach that she could climb out of the water with a few small rocks to block the sand from slipping all the way into the water.... I would highly recommend this pump.. I recommend taking all turtles and switching them into a feeding container and not putting their food in the actual tank they live in . it will clog up the filters too fast and turtle pellets smell bad too .. once I started feeding her in a separate small tank it was much clearer and stayed that way . instead of changing out the water every other day I got to change it out less .. happy turtle ownership .. but this one is going back into the wild. I could only keep her unless I had a back yard and a pond and a place she could grow and get bigger .. they get large and they deserve to be with their own kind....

This filter is great for the price. Yes, it could be noisy if you have low water level, but if your water is about 4 inches from where the water falls down from, it makes basically zero noise. My tank add cloudy and after putting this filter in it, within 6 hours, my water was clear and that's in a 30 gallon tank. This is one of the quietest filters I've owned. So far, in happy with this purchase.

Looked very positive and was working, then after an hour the motor stopped working. This was set up exactly as per the instructions. No blockages evident.

I bought this filter to make a fountain for my cats. I bought activated carbon to put in it and everything works perfectly for a very affordable price. Cats now drink like drunks. On the other hand, if I had to do it again, I would choose a compact filter that has no part that sticks out on the side. This takes up a lot of space in the bowl and you have to find a very large one that is twice the width of the filter so that the water jet can be in the middle. But it's a bit out of the ordinary. Otherwise, this filter is silent, efficient and I am very satisfied.

I've bought several filters which all had the same issue. But I thought this one might work due to the reviews however after a couple hours it just stops, the motor completely shuts down and it won't turn on again. Disappointed to say the least
