Best Roll Pin Punch Set & Mallet for Manly Men, 9 pc Comfort Grip Tools With Bonus Storage Case, Great for Gunsmiths, Jewelry and Watch Repair & Handyman, 1 Hand Pin Remover Tool Kit! - desertcart.com Review: Great Quality: Great Price - Sometimes you have to remind yourself that there is a difference between cheap and Inexpensive. This goes on the Inexpensive side with good quality. You could be a pin set like this for twice to three times as much just because it comes from a big name in the gun industry. While this comes in under 20 dollars and did exactly what I needed it to. I used the set to put together a stripped lower and upper receiver. Pins are the right side and the knurled texture along with the two material mallet head made it a breeze. Review: What a bargain if you need a punch and hammer set - If you do any home gunsmithing or just gun maintenance this set is amazing for the price. The punches are super well made and come in a pouch that is clearly marked for the sizes of each punch slot. The hammer is just the right size and has non-marring and sparking heads. Highly recommended.

For the price its not a bad punch set ... same holds for the mallet.
My first use of the punch was using the 1/8" punch to remove and then reinstall a fairly snug fitting spring pin on a revolver grip ... and in that instance the 1/8" punch did the job with no apparent problems. And this wasn't just a test ... I actually needed to disassemble the revolver for cleaning and the pin had to be removed if the revolver grip was to be removed. I also tested the 1/16" punch on a pin on another revolver's front sight to see how well that might work ... as I suspected if there would be a problem it would likely be with this smallest of the punches (in this case I used the 1/16" punch on the front sight of a Ruger GP100 with the 3" barrel). I just wanted to see if I could get some movement out of the sight pin. I was able to get the movement but at the same time it evidently was a bit too much for the small punch. It bent a bit ... though I was able to straighten it out fairly well afterwards. I didn't risk using the 1/16" punch to push the pin back into place but instead used the 5/64" punch. The 5/64" punch did get the pin back into place without a problem. I do like the storage pouch. Its very handy and easy to store away. I think its clearly true that these punches don't rival Starrett punches for quality and durability. But then you can't get a Starrett punch set for this price either. In fact I think an eight piece Starrett set would run over $55 and that wouldn't include a mallet with the punches. I would say that this punch set and the mallet are good tools for the price. For my present need they're fine. Based on my present need I would buy them again.

Great build quality, nice hammer
Absolutely well built *heavy duty *perceived feel. Tight holding straps. Easy to handle hammer with 2 sides. Works like a charm. Maybe more correctly price at 14.99

Cheap effective little tool set
Needed this to remove a gas tube pin off of a surplus SKS that wouldn't budge. These worked great and have now used them on multiple firearms.

Great punches, but cheap hammer. Still totally functional, and ideal for working on your firearms.
The punches have rounded heads, which works great for all my needs, and it has all the sizes I needed from tiny cotter pins, to full size sear pins. The hammer is just the right weight, and the faces have a dual density. I discovered the head is just a press-on part, though. The handle spun, and the head popped right off when I tried to center it. I just slipped a piece of wire in and crammed the handle back on. It is on solid now, but construction of the hammer is quite cheap. The pins and case are fantastic, the hammer is very useful but low quality, so I give the package 3 stars overall.

Decent Value
Used these roll pin punches for some minor gunsmithing, and they did the job. Was a bit worried that some of the pins would be broken upon arrival, but every one of them turned out to be fine. Some of the smaller pins curved out slightly, though for the money I'm not complaining. I was mostly using the smallest punches included, and they didn't break on me even when I had to use some force to knock out and/or replace some pins. Only thing I would recommend is a standard hammer or a watchmaker's hammer as the nylon/rubber one included just doesn't feel like it carries enough power sometimes. Overall, it was a worthy purchase.

Quality is too poor, despite the low price of $18
Cheap, but not cheap enough to justify the poor quality of these tools. 1. The hammer's handle was skewed to the right, so when you hold it the head doesn't line up with the handle. 2. The rubber striking surface pads are loose and turn freely. 3. The rubber striking surface pads are so soft that they deform when using the punch set 4. The punch set is weak and bends very easily. The only positive thing I have to say is that the red case is good quality and a great way of organizing your punches. Overall, stay clear unless you are doing very light work. I tired to use these on my firearms and it wasn't up for the job.
