Wondering if the metal inside will eventually rust and stain my white paint??

I wouldn't use this stuff on painted surfaces. The metal can get expose pretty easily. I used it to trim some plain stainless steel panels. I believe the metal would rust over time.

Will this work for boat windshield?

The fiberglass I install this product on was roughly 7/32”. It will probably fit wider material. I had to tap it into place with rubber mallet. Nothing crazy. But if the boat windshield is a little more flexible. Two people might be needed to install.

Will this fit on a 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4-door?

This edging is sold in a long roll that you cut to fit your door once you have it applied- ie apply to door by feeding it onto door & press in place- when you have it applied cut it off to the desired point on the door you wish to stop at- the edging has a metal part inside the edging that is pressed over the edge of the door to hold it in place- no need to glue or use anything else to hold in place It should fit any normal car door. I applied it to all four doors plus the rear hatch and had enough left over for another door I was impressed- it stays in place, provides door chipping protection and looks cool in the black on my Red Santa Fe

Does this fit 2019 bmw x3?

It should. I used it on my F150. But looking at it it’s multi use ready. There are small metal clips that hold it right on the door edge frame. I’m getting ready to put it on our BMW X5.

Got this for a Chevy Equinox that chips paint from the door edge if you just look at it. (Really. The doors do not get bumped in to other cars or garage walls....It just chips off.) This edging was easy to put on. I pushed it on with my fingers, and then took a length of rounded wood molding, and ran it up and down the edge to get the trim seated well. Worked great. Looks great. Very happy with it. Covered the chips, and will hopefully hang on and last! Would recommend. Oh - when cutting this, little flecks of metal will fall to the ground due to the design of this that allows it to bend and mold to a surface. I took a rolling magnet, and went over the ground to pick up all the little pieces.
