Works great for my Genesis
The XTOOL Anyscan A30D OBD2 Scanner is a solid, affordable tool that’s easy to use and quick to set up. Registration and software download through the app were seamless—just create an account, enter the activation code, and you’re ready to go within minutes. The app is clean, intuitive, and handles updates automatically. One thing I really appreciate is the fast scanning speed. It connects quickly via Bluetooth and pulls codes and system data without lag, which makes diagnostics much more efficient. It also works well with Genesis vehicles, with stable connectivity and access to multiple modules. Most importantly, it supports electronic parking brake (EPB) service functions, which was a key reason I chose it. That makes brake jobs much easier without needing a more expensive scan tool. Overall, great value for the features—especially if you need bi-directional control and reliable EPB functionality.

Great purchase!
Husband absolutely loves it. It tells you everything wrong with the car, even what’s going bad but isn’t bad yet. He did lots of research before choosing and I was skeptical cause it was cheaper then some but actually turned out very perfect. He even connects it to his tablet for live data and reports. Took him seconds to set up. Doesn’t seem to have any connectivity issues and did explain why our check engine light was on, why the car kept stalling and confirmed parts we already knew were going bad like the converters etc.

Huge bang for your buck here! Stop browsing and try this one out!
I've tried many an OBD-II scanner. From the first Bluetooth models that paired with Android Torque, to some of the newer dealer clones. I must say, this device shows great promise. The tech support is relatively responsive, depending on the time of day. There are a lot of language breaks in the software, but once you're used to those then you'll be working just fine. You WILL need quite a bit of space on your device if you want to download ALL of the manufacturer modules. Each car manufacturer has its' own download, along with some of the other functions having their own module. The software works pretty well, but definitely there's a lot of room for improvement. However, it's still a huge value. In testing my aunt's Lexus Hybrid, just connecting to the engine module and getting live data took about 60 seconds to pull all of the data. But there were seriously around 900 data points that were queried. This thing is seriously way beyond any scanner you've used before. It will connect to any number of independent systems in the car, provide live data for each, as well as scanning for fault codes not otherwise shown on generic scanners. The best part is that there are a ton of actuation tests that you can perform. But you must be careful with these, and make 100% sure you know what you're doing. You could definitely screw your vehicle up if you just go poking around and trying different actuation tests. Depending on which device you purchase (the devices themselves are identical) -- you'll get a license code that will enable certain of the special functions. If you plan to use on multiple cars, then get the most expensive one -- you'll get plenty of use out of it. Get yourself a good protective case for the unit also (it should come with one, seriously.). Save the tiny piece of paper that comes with it (or take a picture). Using an iPad is the optimal experience, but again you'll need a bunch of free space. I got free space errors even when I had 128GB free on my 256GB iPad so it can be finicky for some reason. If you have a technical mind then you will be in heaven with this device. With free lifetime updates, this is a major steal and you should jump on it now! I bought one for myself and one for my father. Don't wait... Just click and buy! You can always return it if you dislike it for some reason! (Plus it has a flashlight built into the adapter! Major WIN! LOL. The device is very well built and not flimsy feeling in the least bit). You can generate exports in PDF format of all of the data collected in live scans, but you cannot export raw data from a capture. This is the only big downside in my opinion. If you're trying to diagnose something and want to review live data, the best you'll get is reviewing it on-screen after recording. It even has space to enter your business details so they can be added into the PDF reports. Huge huge value, no kidding. I was not compensated or encouraged to leave this review. Good luck! --Josh

Great scanner to do most everything a DIY person will ever need. For a high value and low price.
I recently purchased the Xtool Anyscan A30D OBD2 Scanner Diagnostic Tool. I installed the application on my phone. Connection is simplistic. Plug the scanner into the vehicle with the key on and not running. Scanner should light up with real time voltage indicated in the LED display. Using your phone's blue tooth setting attached to the scanner via the phone's blue tooth. Scanner will beep once connected. You can then run an automatic scan in the application. It will find the vehicles and its modules. Telling you if modules are ok or faulted. Interface is simplistic and easy to navigate. Information is really quite extensive for the price. I was even able to read some settings on my Volvo my friend's 900 dollar scanner was not able to. It has saved me much time and money in helping diagnose some of my vehicles. Resetting faults I would have previously not been able to. I was even able to diagnose an ABS issue with the front wheel speed sensor faulting on my Volvo. I replaced the sensor which even told me which wheel it was coming from. The live data I have found is very handy. I am very pleased with the item and would definitely purchase it again. One last item. There is no monthly subscription for application.

Think twice aboe a A30D for Ford
I bought the A30D mainly for traveling in case of check engine light. I wanted to be able to see engine temp, oil temp, trans temp, engine oil pressure or any other PID's that would leave me stranded. My 2020 Ford Edge dosen't show the TCM module and my 2025 Ford Maverick shows nothing. the Maverick shows some PIDs using OBD button. To call them is like about $.50 a minute being in the UK. I tried the chat with us and it fell on "deaf ears", but I did get a 100 points to use. I bought this in the beginng of March plugged it in downloaded software to make sure it worked which it did and packed it away until later. I been trying this week to see what it will do and have found that I have been had.
