I bought this as I am a pensioner and have arthritis in both my hands and I can honestly say that it is incredible have used it on all sorts of jars and bottles. I was sceptical about using it on previously unopened jars but it opened them with ease. Thoroughly recommend.

I have arthritic hands and have spent several months searching for a jar opener that I could successfully use. Having made several wrong purchases I then search for jar opener and this appeared. Had I been presented with this battery operated jar opener I would have chosen this, so why is it hidden from view on jar openers for arthritics. This battery operated jar opener is a must-have for everyone - it will even open a new,sealed jar in seconds. Put in two AA batteries and place the opener on top of the jar. Hold the operating button down while the opener grips the jar and until the top opening gripper starts, release the button and the opener then opens the jar lid, releases its grip on the jar and switches itself off. All without any effort whatsoever.

This jar opener is great, some jars are so tight it’s impossible to open them and this product does it with ease. Great for people with dexterity problems. If I have one complaint, it doesn’t come with instructions. Don’t get me wrong it’s very easy to use but sometimes I’ve had to press the button a few times before it will grip the jar lid and wondered if I was doing something wrong. Also I found with mine that if it’s a very tight lid the machine doesn’t adjust itself properly and go back into its original position, again I wondered is this ok, with no instructions it’s difficult to know. These are just small things that wouldn’t put me off buying this product, I really could not do without it now. Would definitely recommend.

It's big and clumsy-looking, but it works. You put the jar on a table, put the opener on the lid and press the button. Once it grips the lid, you can let go until the lid pops off. We have tried other openers, and this is the only one I have found that will open a vacuum-sealed jam jar.

Fast delivery. Well packed. This was a game changer for my mother who suffers from weak and painful hands and wrists. Very easy to use.

Did a great job of opening a jar lid with chamfered edge which other tools would not grip. The written instructions differ from the pictures (in how long to hold the "start" button (the only button). It says to press the release button ? to reset the unit. However there is no way to turn it off, so I just took the batteries out
