I already have a strip of these lights which I bought 2 years ago, and they're still going strong. I decided to buy a second strip to go on the other side of the room. There was a fault with the second strip after a few months which meant that the colours wouldn't change properly - Govee customer support was excellent, and I have to say, my experience with them is a big reason for me giving this product 5 stars and recommending it to you today. After I'd submitted my video demonstrating the problem, they got back to me the same day, and provided a replacement the next working day. It was crazy how good the service was. Adhesion - the strip is easy to apply. It's on a spool so all you have to do is peel off the adhesive protection, roll and stick, roll and stick. Mine have been installed on the ceiling for years with no sign of coming unstuck. Colours - the colours are fun and you can use pre-programmed colour change patterns, as well as programming your own. I will say that it's difficult to get a true yellow or pink with the lights, but I think that's the nature of RGB lighting. Once you do find a colour you love, you can save a shortcut for it in the app, so at least once you've found a decent shade of pink, you don't have to worry about finding it again. App - the app is easy to use. If you have multiple Govee products, you can name them and see them all in one place to toggle them on/off. There's a sound feature so you can pair the lights to your music, or play some preset sounds with matching light patterns (e.g. rain, jungle sounds, lightning storm, whale song). There is also a timer feature on the app - I like to have mine turn on slowly over 15 minutes before my alarm clock goes off in the morning. Often, the light alone is enough to wake me up, and I find it's a more natural (and nice) way to wake. Length - I bought the 10m version and found it a really generous amount of lights. The length from the plug to the beginning of the lights could be a little longer, but it does look as if you could probably put an extension lead between the lights and the plug if you wanted to. I have one strip of lights going around the top of my room, and the cable was long enough to reach from the wall socket (at at a conventional height) to the ceiling with a little slack. There is a control panel along this section of the cable, which you are able to stick to the wall with a pre-attached 3M adhesive strip. This means I have an on/off button physically attached to the wall, for times when I want to control the lights without my phone. I would definitely highly recommend these lights. A lot of stuff that I buy on amazon comes from brands you've never heard of, so you don't know what kind of support you're going to get. Now that I've experienced great support from Govee, I will continue to buy their products in the future.

These strip lights are around my room which I really love. A few LEDS stopped working properly after half a year which has been disappointing. However for £15.99 at the time, it was worth it. Most still work perfectly so they will be up in my room for a bit longer.

This is my 3rd Govee light strip (others are in different places). They are very good value and work really well. I say in the title no frills, this is because unlike other more expensive LED light strips, these have no cover over the LEDs or exposed bits of circuitry. Don't let this put you off if you are looking for an inexpensive LED light strip that can be controlled my the app or "Smart Assistants". They stick really well and bright for the price, I have some Philips Hue light strips which were more than 3 times the price, but they aren't 3 times better than these. These don't require a hub (hue hub £50+), the app is simple and easy to use and Govee customer service is A+ They are great for the price, have good features and work really well.

UPDATE 2: in the bin. LEDs dropped like flies after 6months use. By 7months they were useless. Great idea, but the quality of the LED strip itself is shocking. UPDATE: purchased in September 2021, and by February 2022 the LEDs have started to drop like flies. First the different RGB elements failed in a few LED, meaning some couldn't do certain colours. This spread from 3 to circa ~30 now. Also seeing a handful that have stopped working completely now. Very poor experience indeed - looked fab at first, but as per my first review below ....they just won't last long at all. Bought these to brighten up my home office. Having smart RGB lights that also reacted to music/sounds appealed. They went on to the wall easily enough, sticking well. Setup is painless, and they worked with Alexa perfectly. You can use an app or your favourite digital assistant to set the colour, scene, brightness and mode. This all works great. The colour range is good for the money. So why four stars? In the time they have been on the wall a small section of four LEDs have started to fail and not display the full range of colours (e.g. they just show red, green or blue and not different hues). Great, but concerned they might not last.

Perfect lights for my television

So first things first the seller is super responsive and keen to resolve issues. I just think the quality of the LEDs or discrete components used on the strips are of a low quality or the soldering isn’t great as too many people are reporting failures. For context, I bought these to put up in a room and for a few weeks they worked great with basic commands such as colour and brightness controlled through Alexa. They were very easy to setup and connect with Alexa through the Govee app and unlike others I’ve not had any connectivity issues but sometimes they have been slow to respond or just ignored me entirely. However after a few weeks a group of 3 Blue LEDs failed. This makes the colours off where blue is required and clearly when blue is selected they are off. I contacted the seller who was very helpful and no quibble sent me another set out. Whilst waiting for these to arrive (which they did today) another 3 LEDs have failed again blue. It will be alot of hassle to remove and fit new ones due to the stuff in front of the wall they are on now so I’m considering getting the joining clips you can get and using the off cut to replace sections instead as I have a feeling that from the other reviews that even this new set will fail so why bother and just patch up instead. Anyway, great seller, hit and miss product, so you makes your choice based on how bothered you are they may fail but in the knowledge the seller will support you if they do.
