I purchased this backdraft gate for an exhaust fan in my basement. It’s opens with pressure from the fan and seals tight against the rubber gasket when the fan is turned off. It does exactly what I wanted and fit easily on my 8” duct pipe.

The part was used and damaged. Had to be repaired prior to use.

Wish I wouldn’t have waited so long. Spring retraction is super light so fan lifts fins even on low setting. Pro tip, take duct tape up with you, as it doesn’t seat perfectly. But I prefer oversized with tape than undersized and custom mods.

Worked well and had little foam strip seat to prevent noisy closing of flaps.
