This assortment of needle files is of excellent quality and craftsmanship. They are single cut with nice sharp ridges and made from a durable tool steel. The six files provide the right shape for any situation and they come in a convenient little pouch. They will leave a nice smooth finish on whatever it is you are filing. I would recommend having a good brush for clearing away the material that inevitably will get built up between the ridges when filing. Also the tangs are good enough to be used as is for light hobby work, but for anything that requires more force, a handle is also recommended. These files are quite small so get a handle that is suited to their size since a regular handle will dwarf them in diameter and possibly make them harder to use in tight places.

Since purchasing Nicholson 6 Piece Hobby File Set my annual income has skyrocketed, I inherited a beach house from long lost uncle and beautiful supermodels hound me night and day. OK... maybe not. Still I can say this set has proved valuable in projects around the house. Files live up to Nicholson reputation, perform job well and represent good value in my opinion. Plastic holder strong enough and should hold up for years if not thrown around too much or exposed to elements excessively. Had thought they might be made in USA at time of purchase but are made in China but more than satisfied with purchase. Great file set!

A quality set of mini files which I use to remove flash from my paintable plastic miniatures. They are the right size and the assortment is helpful with the different shapes of the files. Overall a N inexpensive, but quality set.

My original set of Nicholson files was handed down from my dad and is probably 75 years old now. Back then it was all American made. Today China pokes it head into this legacy product, but as best as I can tell after working with these files for a week, all is still good. Pleased with the precision that I can nip and tuck rail work on my model railroad projects. Would buy again.

I got this set, after returning a different set because one was already broken when I got it. This set is pretty neat. REMEMBER! This is a set for hobbies, not for anything major. I got this to make flutes when my wood dries completely. This is for small jobs, like toy cars and RC cars, and all that jazz. This isn't something you're going to be using to construct a residential home. These files are SMALL! They fit in the palm of my hand-i have huge hands. (I usually wear XL to 2xl rubber gloves). The tool has grooves to where it's great for sweaty hands. you'll grip it no matter what. If you can't, I'd think you're the issue.

Nicholson is the best for files - worth the money

As a journeyman machinist for forty years, I have used hand files all my life. Nicholson was one of two (Simmons is the other) of the best file makers. They are straight, flat, and made in many styles. My problem with them is they are now made in China, taking American jobs away from the USA. Shame on you Nicholson!!! I will NEVER buy a file from this turn coat company again
