GLX GX11 Compact Full Face Motorcycle Helmet w/ Tinted Visor, DOT

This is a pretty nice helmet! I had been wearing a cheaper Triangle helmet for years, and following the general 5-year rule I decided it was time to replace. I'm glad I did!The pads in this one are much more substantial, and the shell feels sturdier while only being slightly heavier. It did feel pretty tight putting it on the first time, but after the pads have broken in a bit, it's gotten more comfortable. Just be aware that it'll probably feel a bit small if you're coming from a helmet you've been wearing for a while.I appreciate the addition of the free tinted visor, and while I generally prefer to wear prescription sunglasses under a visor instead, it's a nice option to have if I ever want to swap it out.I like the color a lot too - it seems like the vast majority of helmets are solid black or white, or an extremely ugly pattern of some kind. I like the simple matte olive green since it looks nice without cooking your head under the hot sun like my old black helmet did.The ventilation is good - it keeps your head cooler on warm days with the vents in the top and chin. They aren't the best and you're still going to get more effective ventilation by cracking your visor, but they do help. The vents are also styled in a nice subtle way that don't make it look like you're trying really hard to look like you're from the future like a lot of the other cheaper ones.My biggest complaint is that the ear padding is really thick, and it's hard to keep earbuds in if you're wearing them while you ride. I have to cram my hands into either side to reposition them into my ears before I ride, which adds a solid 90 seconds of fiddling with the helmet every time before I get on.Another minor complaint is the nose redirection thing to keep your breath from fogging up the visor. If you have a schnoz like me, it's going to hurt whenever you put the helmet on. Thankfully, it's easy enough to pop out though.Overall, this is a really solid helmet! It's on the higher end of the cheap no-name helmets, and I'm glad I sprung for the better quality one this time. I have a hard time justifying an expensive new one every 5 years, but a quality helmet at a good price point like this one encourages me to actually swap it out when I'm supposed to.Update after 4 months of near-daily wear: the biggest issue I have noticed with this helmet is the visor. The screw on the left side (while wearing it) has a tendency to come loose every couple of months and needs tightened. It's only popped out once on me, but it's a mild annoyance. I think it's because the tab to lift it is on the left side, so every time you open the visor, it loosens that screw a tiny bit. It's not enough to ding it a star as this has been a great helmet, but it's something to consider.Update after about a year of use - I hit a low slide at only about 25mph but felt my head bounce off the road with this helmet on, and it only has small scratch on it where it hit the road. If I hadn't been wearing this, things would've turned out worse than just some road rash and annoying repairs. Wear a helmet people!Update after 1.5 years of use - This helmet has seen better days, and based on my low slide, I've decided to replace it with something nicer. I can confirm over time that the biggest issue is definitely the visor here. It's fogged up pretty badly with micro scratches from cleaning it with shop towels and LA's totally awesome cleaner, and while it's served me well, it's time to upgrade. If you're considering this, I'd strongly suggest spending just a little more money and getting something with Snell or the even more rigorous ECE 22.06 certification. DOT unfortunately doesn't mean much anymore. Scorpion and HJC have some good options. Best case scenario, you have a nicer helmet for several years, and worst case scenario, you come out on the other side of a crash with less injuries. So if you're absolutely broke, this will work, but I'd really recommend using the money you save by not driving a car toward something higher quality.

For the price this is excellent. Fits perfectly. The chin strap is comfortable. It’s design is new to me but so far I like it. It was easy to adjust and fits snug. Padding is soft and easy to remove. I installed a sound system with no instructions in about 15 minutes. On the highway the noise level it not bad at all. The Bluetooth speaker canceled out any wind and I highly recommend getting one or rocking ear buds. Around town it could be better with airflow through the vents. At stops I just flip up the visor. It’s got decent aerodynamic design. At higher speeds riding upright ( I have mini apes) it cuts through the wind. Side drafts are the only time I feel my head getting pushed. Comparing it to my half helmet it’s a million times more enjoyable. Especially on the highway or during longer rides. I might shelf the half and use this full time. I can’t speak for the sun shield. I double up visor and glasses. I ride to work in the sun and go home in the dark. The mat green looks as pictured and finish is flawless. I’ve only been on a few rides but I’m already a big fan. Only complaint is that the vents at lower speeds don’t seem to cool you as much as I’d like. Which is common with full helmet’s. But you don’t get the irritating sound of wind when the vents are open at higher speeds. So I guess it depends on how hot it is and how fast you ride and how many red lights. It has a wire mesh screen in the upper vents which is nice if you ever had a bug fly into your helmet. Also has a soft mesh that closes the gap below your chin and neck.

The first time I wore this helmet was on a bike run and it was amazing. The vents are well placed and really keep your head cool. I've used it numerous times and I never feel like I'm overheating. It also fits very snugly and definitely feels like it would protect me in an accident. I highly recommend this helmet. I've worn it in 100° weather and barely broke a sweat.

I would give it 4 stars because a cardo is not very comfortable in this helmet, but I’m giving it 5 stars because I wrecked my bike yesterday and this helmet saved my life. It held up very well, and thought it will need replaced, there is very little damage to show on it. But I did not feel the impact, I have no head injuries, and I am very thankful that I was wearing it, and despite the low cost, it performed amazingly.

Great helmet for the price. Really stylish too. Fits as it should and has great ventilation thru the helmet with options to close the vents. I’m really satisfied.

Helmet is perfect for me and the price is not bad. I'm a size large. Comes with everything that is on the photos attached. The inserts can be purchased I believe. The GLX GX11 is comfortable and very light. That matte color and design is great. Yes you will leave finger prints but remember. The color is matte. Comes with instructions that tell you how to clean and maintain the helmet. I thoroughly checked this helmet and everything is intact. Nothing loose, ripped or missing. You get what you pay for.Remember this is not a Shoei or a Ruroc. So if you are going to complain about the GLX GX11. Then go spend the $300 to $500 dollar helmets and it will solve your problem. But remember some of those helmets don't come with a second visor so that is a couple hundred more right there. Always thoroughly check all helmets no matter what brand you buy. You can spend hundreds of dollars and the helmet will either be missing something or something is broken. So its the same for every helmet. Stop comparing this helmet with expensive helmets. I've tested GLX GX11 and it holds up pretty well. From riding in high speeds in a track to check if the visor opens. Visor does not open. Again those that say it does could of had one that is a lemon. Visor isn't hard to open. It's snug so it won't open when riding.The noise isn't bad but this is not good for those that ride a harley or anything as loud as a harley. Crouch rockets will be perfect and those that ride Rykers or Spiders. The chin strap is ok. Although at times I think it will come off but that's because that is all in my mind. It's locks pretty well and it's pretty snug.Always measure your head size before purchasing any helmet online. That way you won't be disappointed when you get the item and give it a bad review because of your decision for not checking.I make my own designs and will be adding some vinyl decals. Just to add extra flare to this helmet. Again, you get what you pay for. If your thinking to hard on purchasing the GLX GX11 then get the helmet you want. But when my instructor and other riders checked my helmet out. They were angry that they spent hundreds and they love the design of the GLX GX11. I would buy this helmet again if I have to. Hell I will buy another when I'm back on my feet financially.

I think my rating is fair due to some of my issues with my item. First off. Fast shipping. Decent price.Things I love about this helmet.I love the color. It's hard to find one like this that looks this freaking good.The fit.It comes with an extra visor.Comes with a bag.The packaging.Sizing is accurate.Has a quick release.Feels like a great quality build product for protection. This is my first helmet and I need something to protect my dome also to keep the head warm in the colder months.Things that kinda bother me.Mines had quite the few smudges even before I tried it on. I took pictures. Thought I could wipe it off with a slightly wet paper towel. Nope. Still there. Only bothers me if I really stare at it.I have one small raised bump in the front right in the middle of the helmet. I have one small indenture at the back just before the branding. My vent release part on the left side is raising up a bit.Really love this helmet. The color is nice!!!

Excellent, but air insulation is not good

I usually wear XL and used the measurements as directed but the helmet was small and tight. Maybe XXL would be suitable, not sure. Item returned

Measure head at 58cm, bought a Med as per the chart, I could get it on , was tight and painful at the top of my head, I think the large would fit perfectly. But sadly out of stock. I returned it. But it looks like a beautiful helmet for an awesome price. Very good quality and finish
