Great stainless gooseneck kettle by Cozyna
I've used this Cozyna Gooseneck Kettle about 10 times a day since it arrived to heat water for tea & coffee but also to add boiling hot water in the sink when washing dishes & to help sanitize the cats' food dishes before washing with soap. It's been great, heats quickly, pours a nice narrow stream of water, easily directed to where I want it to go. It's a good size, not too big or small & looks nice on the kitchen counter, doesn't take up too much room. Comes with a thermometer that I'm not currently using. But I did cut & keep the list of temperatures recommended to properly prepare different types of teas & coffee that was printed on the side of the box. It's completely stainless inside with only a very small (maybe 1" x 1/2") piece of plastic inside that's attached to the handle & is just inside the rim where the lid clicks in. When I fill the kettle, I don't add so much water that it covers this piece of plastic. If I did, water would overflow out the top when boiling. So I'm not concerned about having that little bit of plastic inside. The lid comes off completely which I think is a plus. I read many reviews for other stainless kettles, some much more expensive, that have a button to pop the lid open but seems the button can wear out after a while & then you either can't open it, or close it properly. All in all, I'm happy with it & recommend it.

Good deal
Works great, love the little thermometer. Worth the purchase. But the base is kind of flimsy. It's attached all right, but it's kind of thin plastic. Suspect it's easy to crack or break. But still worth the price.

I really like it so far and have only had it for ...
The kettle arrived when it was suppose too. I've been a coffee drinker all my life and decided to try green tea for a change. I have never used a regular kettle or electric kettle before so here goes: Not rocket science right? Common sense says to run water through it first before you use it and so did the instructions. It heats the water quickly. I mean really quickly. As soon as I start it, in about a minute and a half, its to the desired temperature for green tea (170 F). I usually have two cups and when I pour the second cup, the water is still hot. The On/Off switch is really functional. It's a lever on the rear of the electric plate and is large. If you leave it on, it will reach it's max temp (212 F) and automatically shut off. There is an indicator light to let you know when it's off or on. It comes with a thermometer that you can insert into a hole in the lid to see where the water temperature is when heating. I really like it so far and have only had it for two weeks. Time will tell but it looks well made. Very functional. I received an email from the rep of the company who sells this kettle and she was very courteous and was wanting to know if everything was fine with this purchase and item. Good business practices as far as I am concerned. The instructions are self explanatory and about the only challenge I am going to have, is cleaning it later on for scaling. Also listed in the instructions.

Looks and works great!
When I first received this my first reaction was..."They could have made the cord a little longer." I couldn't even plug it into a counter outlet. I got an extension cord and used it like that for a couple of weeks. Then I was moving it one day and turned the stand part over to reveal the cord was wrapped up underneath it. Bright! I hope your are laughing with me and not at me. Or if you are laughing at me, please don't point. Now for the kettle itself. I haven't timed how long it takes a quart of water to get up to temperature, but it's fast. If you leave it on, it automatically shuts off when it gets close to or at boiling. I rarely let that occur as I like to pour the water through drip through coffee in the 175-180ยฐ F range. The kettle pours easily and it is easy to control how much and where the water is being poured. I even use the kettle to fill my silicone "BIG" ice cube trays. The thermometer that comes with it is okay, but I use one of my instant temperature thermometers so I know exactly the water temperature.

Useless toy.
I'm returning it without trying to put in water. Opening a box, I've seen that it was already opened before and a kettle had small water smears inside and outside. I'm sure I'm not the first one to return it. In general: it is very poorly made. It is not only very lightweight, like a tin toy, but also is very unstable on the base. A base itself is very thin and lightweight plastic plate. This kettle is very loosely fit on the round protrusion that connects it to electricity. In addition, a cord is very short and hard, and retains coiled shape after you unwind it from under a base. Was very difficult to squeeze it in a groove on the base, and coming out of this groove it lifted light base for a little bit. If you add it to the loose fit of a kettle on a base, you will have an electric device that supposed to have water standing slightly uneven. I'm not taking risk of having water and electricity mixed in the unstable device. Will not take a chance of another kettle of this type. I guess, Iโll better stick to a traditional model that is sturdy on its foundation.

Fantastic gooseneck kettle! - Stopped working after 15 months
Revised 05/15/18 - Although this gooseneck kettle is amazing, it stopped working after 15 months. There is a two year warranty on it but I've contacted Cozyna customer service with no response after two emails. The kettle no longer turns on when I push the button. I didn't get the outside of the kettle wet and I didn't wash the base, so neither piece has been exposed to water. It just mysteriously stopped working. Sad. This electric gooseneck kettle has changed my life. I make coffee using a Chemex every weekend and this has made that process so much easier. The water heats up so much faster than in the microwave and the pour is silky smooth. My coffee tastes so much better thanks to this kettle. I love it!

The thermometer is very difficult to read, which defeats the main reason I selected this electric kettle.
I like the appearance, like the relatively speedy heating, love the way it pours. My only problem is with the thermometer, and that is a major problem. My vision is corrected to 20/20, but it is very difficult for me to read the thermometer, which has a medium grey background with the relevant text in colors. Being able to have an integrated thermometer is the main reason I chose your electric kettle. I want to be able to heat water to the optimum temperature for coffee and teas, and this thermometer makes it just not very usable. A less colorful but more readable thermometer would make it a much better product. I should not have to stoop and squint to see what the temperature is.

Still Loving It (1 year update)
I plan to update this review after a year of using this kettle but so far I love it! I was looking for a gooseneck kettle that I could travel with and use wherever I go, especially to make coffee in my Chemex or AeroPress. Having a gooseneck kettle makes ALL the difference when making pour-over coffee because it gives you complete control of pouring rate and direction, and prevents the water from dripping down the spout (which is likely to happen with any other type of kettle). This one seemed to have some of the most consistent and good reviews so I went ahead and purchased this and have been using it for a few weeks now. - What I love about this kettle is that if you travel and you want to make your own coffee in a Chemex or AeroPress (which I use both depending on my mood), you don't have to worry about where to heat your water. And compared to other electric heating gooseneck kettles, this one has a smaller, less bulky base under which the cord wraps around, making it easy to pack and bring with you. - Having the thermometer turned out to be a lot more useful than I thought. When using my AeroPress I can turn off the kettle once it reaches the first green area (165-170). When using the Chemex I let it heat all the way to 210. And this kettle shuts off on it's own once the water reaches that temperature, so I don't have to worry about keeping an eye on it. - The rate of heating water of this kettle is definitely faster than using a conventional kettle on an electric stove-top (which makes this a better option for water heating even when using it at home) but I have used other brands of electric-heating (non-gooseneck) kettles that heat water faster. I don't have a fire gas stove so I'm not sure if that works faster. The only thing to consider is that you can't use this kettle on your stove-top. It has to go on the electric base that it comes with. - This last part is personal preference, but the design is simple but nice, and I can display this openly in my kitchen without worrying about it being an eyesore. So far I'm loving it. I would absolutely recommend it for the job it's designed to do. I will update this review after a year to see how it's holding up. Update (after 1 year): I'm updating my review after using this kettle for over a year and trying out a few other brands of gooseneck kettles. My five star review holds firm after a year of using and comparing it to other models. For this price I think this kettle outperforms many other kettles in this category, and even performs better than some of the more expensive ones. Sure, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles as some more expensive ones do but what its designed to do, it does very well. The thermometer has come in handy so much more than I expected. As long as I let the water boil to the coffee indicated temperature I get a good solid cup of coffee with low to no acidity and great flavor. I use this at home and bring it into the office with me and it's very easy to transport. I have not experienced any leaking (which I did with a couple of other kettles). Another thing I experienced with other brands was dripping down the gooseneck when trying to pour small amounts at a time to bloom the coffee. I did not experience any dripping with this kettle. I like this kettle so much, in fact, that I just went ahead and bought myself a backup to keep in the office. Final verdict, after a year: Love it and, for this price, I highly recommend.
