Lace Up Punk Sneaker Review: Very Unique Shoes for a Great Price! - Originally, I had my heart set on getting some legit Chuck Taylor Knee-Hi Converses. There was nothing stopping me from spending my money on those shoes. Well, until I saw these for a fraction of the price. So I decided, hey-what the heck? Might as well try! I've had these shoes for a little over two months now, and I am LOVING them! West Blvd has so many more colors to choose from than Chuck Taylor, and when I bought these shoes back in March they were only $19.00. Iโm pretty sure the price jumped back up a bit (from what I can tell), so I was glad that I got these when I did! So far, my pair is holding up pretty well. I usually wear them for causal reasons, as well as around the house because I feel like a badass when I wear these. Iโm always getting complements on these shoes and once I get some more money Iโm going to order another pair in a different pattern! As for the size, Iโm going to tell you right now-ORDER A SIZE UP. Iโm a size 9 usually, but most of the reviews I had read before ordering recommended ordering a size up. I have to say they were right. A size 9 would never fit me, so I ended up getting the size 10 shoe. It fits very comfortably-thereโs plenty of room for my toes to move around in the base. However, just like Converses these shoes are completely flat. I fixed this by sticking some insoles inside in order to give my arches some support. Now, I have some pretty muscular calves-but theyโre not huge by any means. Iโm really not sure what counts as โhuge calvesโ, but thatโs something to take into consideration when ordering this kind of shoe. These shoes are easily worn with knee high socks, leggings, tights and I can even get my yoga pants to fit inside the shoe. Jeans, however are out of the question, as well as very thick pants. If youโre going to get these, make sure you have an outfit that youโll be able to wear with them. I wear yoga pants all the time (except to work) which works out very well for these sort of shoes. And the BEST part about these shoes is that you donโt have to lace them every time you put them on! When they arrive in the mail, you have to lace them up-which is a pain in the butt. Once you get past that part, youโre good to go! Thereโs a zipper running along the length of the shoe on the inside! All you have to do is zip and un-zip your shoes to get them on and off! Itโs really easy once you get the hang of it, and apparently nobody but whoever is wearing the shoes knows that thereโs a zipper because I am always getting people asking me if it takes me half an hour to get my shoes on and off. So, to recapโฆ West Blvd looks like Converse, but costs WAY less. They hold up pretty well for what you pay for them. ORDER A SIZE UP. No, no for huge calves. Easily worn with thin material. Only have to lace them up once. Yes, there is a zipper. Zippers are wonderful things. In the end these shoes are AMAZING, and theyโre VERY AFFORDABLE. If youโre torn between getting legit Converses and this, I would recommend West Blvd. The price makes it a very good buy! Review: Fantastic Shoes - These shoes are fantastic, I get a ton of complements on them, people are always asking where I got them and you can't beat the price. One small issue I have with them is that this pair was a bit too big on me but I bought a size up from my usual fit so that's to be expected, and as long as I wear thick stocks they're perfectly wearable. If I don't wear thick socks they have a tendency to bunch up around the ankle but again this wouldn't have been an issue if I'd gotten the the right size and it's easily avoidable with thick socks or shoe insoles and a tightening of the laces. A lot of other reviewers suggested buying a size up but I've purchased two of these boots, one in my usual 7 1/2 and one in an 8 and I can honestly say the size 7 1/2 fits perfectly, although the 8 is still wearable. They are a pain to lace up (I think it took me an hour to get both done) but after you lace them once you're good to go since they zip on the side. One thing that makes me a tad nervous are the zippers on the side, I wish the tongue of the zippers were just a bit sturdier but I've been careful when zipping and they've yet to break. The boots do catch lint like nobody's business so invest in a lint brush, especially if you have a cat, but that's just a minor thing. Some people seem to have issues with the laces being too short but I've not had that problem. They're quite comfortable, they're flats so if you have to do a lot of walking I'd suggest insoles to support the arches of your feet but that's just how flats are and doesn't reflect on the shoes, that said I've been able to walk two miles in these comfortably. There are some loose strings around the zipper area but the shoes have held up wonderfully for about three and half months now, even after extensive wearing so I'm not convinced those are really a deal breaking defect, not at this price. Bottom line I'd recommend these shoes, they're awesome looking, they fit as measured, and they're great quality for the price.

Fantastic Shoes

Good deal for the price.
These sneaker boots are great! They're so comfortable, and fit my wide feet perfectly without being too big at the sides. I can wear them all day without discomfort, and that's saying a lot for shoes. They're my first pair of sneaker boots; I usually go for black battle-boots, but I wanted something more casual and comfortable- no regrets buying these! I love the pattern; I would have preferred simple black (my size was sold out), but the graffiti pattern is cool without being too loud, and the two sets of laces (black and white) are a nice touch. The best part is that they keep my calves warm, and fit nice & snugly under pant-legs. They arrived on time and as described- no issues on that front. I give these 4 stars instead of five for two reasons: 1.There are strings coming out from the inside seams, all over the place. The canvas was trying to unravel the moment they came out of the box, so much so that strands got caught in the zippers. This isn't a big deal to me, since I paid only $10 for them, and a bit of fabric glue will prevent further unraveling. 2. There is little to no tread on the bottom. It's almost like wearing socks, and there is a danger of slipping on non-carpeted floors or wet grass. I have to adjust my step on certain surfaces in these shoes, but for $10 I won't complain too much. For a pair of knee-high Chuck T. knock-offs, these sneaker boots hit the mark. Just be careful on slick surfaces, please.

Read reviews, and thanks to that, these boots fit, and are awesome!! :).
The boots arrived two days late due to recent weather conditions; it had nothing to do with the seller. Bad weather happens! The seller shipped them out right on time. They arrived pretty quick, and I instantly went to lace them up and try them on. I am grateful I read other reviews, because they do run small. I bought these to replace my other converse style sneaker boots that got chewed up by my roommate's dogs; they were size 9. I would have gone with Size 10 if it wasn't for the other reviews, and the boots would have been to small. size 11 is more like size 9, and I went with size 11. They fit well, though need to be broken in. I bought the black and blue boots, and wasn't too concerned about the short laces I heard about considering I didn't have too many issues with my other sneaker boots. It turned out the the boots came semi laced to do double lacing, and included black laces as well as the blue ones; so I have the opposite Problem, too long of laces. though I like that.:). I am really happy with the boots. the only down sides is they don't come laced up, though I believed that is so you can lace them as you desire, and that there are no anchors for laces on the tongue of the boots. though very very minor in the fact the I replace my Air walks like these (that retail for 29.99) for 19.99, and my Air walks were falling apart. I am really happy with these boots. I feel they have a little cooler style to them as well. highly recommend these, and the seller. Rock on!!:). Addy R. :).

Quality matches the price.
I read that these shoes run somewhat small, so being a size 9, I ordered a size 10. I haven't laced them up, but I tried them on with no socks and they seem like they'd fit good with them laced and with socks. The reason I'm giving 3 stars is because when I pulled them out there were these white threads everywhere along the zipper seams and the seam on the back of both shoes. There is also this weird residue along the back seam of the shoes. Glue maybe? I have no idea. There is also a lot of glue residue where the rubber meets the canvas material of the bottom the shoe. But it's not all that noticeable unless you're examining the shoes. The canvas material is also cheap; a lot stiffer than I was expecting and carry a lot of visible wrinkles. Hopefully breaking them in will help. I was contemplating sending them backfire an exchange, but honestly I don't want to hassle with getting a new pair and them Probably being in a similar condition. So I'm just going to put in the time (quite a bit) to scrape off the residue and cut all the white threads. Obviously they aren't of high quality, but for the amount you're spending I find it worth it for what I wanted them for. (Concerts, Not an every day shoe) If you want them prestine, or to even wear right out of the box, and of better quality, I'd shop elsewhere. I'm curious to see how long they hold up.

Great Shoes, Run Small - Order up a half size
I am normally between a 7.5 & an 8, usually an 8. I read the other reviews and was going to get an 8.5, but they were out. Since the price was so good, I took a risk and went with a 9. It is definitely a little big, but I'm confident the 8.5 would have fit perfectly. The 9s will fit with an insert. Some reviews said the calf was small. I disagree. I have very athletic calves and I often can't fit into tall leather boots. Most tall boots are somewhere between 14.5" - 15.75" around. My calves are about 16" - so solidly outside of the norm. These fit fine. I was able to lace them up with enough laces left over to tie the shoe (though it was close) and the sides overlap the tongue. It looks totally normal. If you don't have skinny calves, you won't be able to pull them tight enough to touch each other, but I think that would look weird, anyway. They have a zipper that runs up from the instep, which is really nice because it means that once you have them laced how you want them, you never have to do it again. The soles of the shoes are a little weird. They're rubber, but they're hard, so they feel a little bit unstable on slick floors. However, I'm pretty sure once I wear them on pavement and rough them up a bit this won't be a problem anymore. I bought the red ones for a homemade Wonder Woman costume, but I like them so much I might wear them after Halloween, too.

Poor Quality, Specially the Sole
I've owned and worn numerous pairs of Converse/Chuck Taylor and Vans imitations and originals ever since I was a toddler (I'm 18 as of writing this review), and I decided to try out these thrifty imitation knee high Converse style sneakers for size and see how they faired against the original titans. They sucked. A lot. It's very poorly made and fit somewhat smaller (around a centimeter less, but it really bothered me because my toenails were scraping against the front which is *eugh*). I ordered the black with blue laces in a size 8 and it arrived almost completely unlaced. It arrived with an extra pair of black shoelace, which is nice. (Vans and Converse I'm a 7.5, otherwise I'm an 8). The sole's glue is visible on the black canvas, and the sole has a weird fuzzy material over it in the middle, for reasons I do not know. Also, the sole is completely concave/depressed, not as if it were used, but it seems that it was produced that way. It does not lie flat, nor does it form to your arches. From the amount of reviews I've seen, the fuzzy sole is very common. I would not try my luck with it. The zipper also had problems zipping up and down. I would've sprayed on WD40 to fix it (if you don't have a can of this, you need to add it to your cart right now), but I wanted to see if it had anymore problems, which it did. It also had some white threads stuck on there, but they were easy to remove, I don't consider this a problem and doesn't affect my view on the quality of the shoe, but I am wondering how/why they are on there. Would not recommend at all unless you have an arch supporter insert and it doesn't rain often where you live, or you don't need to walk on smooth areas (such as tiling). I'd rather save up and dish out 100 or so bucks on the brand name one as it is quality made and lasts for an extremely long time (each pair lasted around 3 or 4 years when I was going to school, which included required physical education classes and weekly mile runs. I usually had another more special spic and span pair saved for special school events such as open house or holidays). I had hope on these, maybe I got a bad pair, maybe they're all the same and people are less sensitive to this type of stuff. Nonetheless, I'd rather stick with the real deal.

Great buy...thicker calves/ larger feet beware!
Like everyone says, these shoes are cut small and narrow; I wear anywhere from a 7.5 to 8.5 normally so ordered a size 10. The 10 is cut to where I can JUST fit them comfortably so if you are any bigger than a wide 8.5 or narrow 9 these shoes are likely not for you. I have a medium sized calf and could JUST close the sides over the tongue when leaving the laces out of the top two holes so if you have larger calves, they probably won't close completely. I'm 5'2 and they come all the way to my knee, maybe over lapping my knee just a bit. All that being said, these boots are SUPER cute...very nice looking, don't look cheap at all! I'm not sure how well they would hold up to daily wear and I will probably buy inserts to add some cushioning for comfort but they are PERFECT for my concert outfit I bought them for :) Excellent purchase for the money! Oh yes...AND it came with both white and black pairs of laces as a bonus!
