Caillou Learns to Swim (Playtime series)

Gift. My grandson loves Caillou so I bought this book and others, all the books got his attention and they are children books not written with perfect English/ definitions but I wasn't looking to buy a children's book to criticize the author. Really... I read a review and thank goodness I'm not that parents child. This is a children's book for fun and beginning of life skills. Thanks for reading. Reviews help consumers.

My 3 year old is a HUGE Caillou fan. He wants to do everything Caillou does, so when it came to be summertime, we had to buy books about swimming and vacationing. We have read this book quite a few times already and can't get enough of it.

Bought for the goodie bags at my daughters 2nd birthday. A great hit!

I decided to buy this book because my 3 year old son loves Caillou and was about to begin brand new swim lessons. I wanted a story that would be relatable to his upcoming experience. It worked, it got him excited to start. The only thing about the book I did not like, and maybe things are different in Canadian pools, is when Caillou talks about entering the pool being "scary" because it's "dark". Pools here in Florida are never dark, but crystal clear and usually blue, so I had to defer my son from the fact that pools here can be scary.

The book is in okay condition but did not include the giant poster that was supposed to be included . As this is for a gift I am disappointed it is incomplete.

My grandson was not very comfortable getting into the pool (he is 4). We bought him this book to learn about swimming. When his dad read it to him and he read it with his dad, he went the next day to the pool and said that Caillou "knew what he felt like" and our son said he had to stop him from jumping into the pool. It seemed to be the turning point for him. Thank you Sarah Margaret Johanson

I was disappointed in the story. I was afraid it would make my daughter more fearful than she already is, so I modified the words as I read it. It's not a book she asked for after the novelty wore off (day 1). Perhaps better to have just borrowed from a library than to have purchased!

I have two young daughters who love water, my oldest is a little nervous about learning to swim on her own but the youngest is already trying to take off so this book is great for both of them. They love it!
