Originally, I was using a cheap spring base, high profile arm that I've had for 10 years maybe more. With my new desk setup, I found it got in the way, both physically and visually and looked messy. Not to mention the springs would make an awful noise when adjusting. The Elgato Wave Low Profile arm is genuinely better in every way. It's highly adjustable, sturdy and very supporting of my microphone (A Wave:3 on a shock mount). It doesn't get in the way, as it can be neatly folded away to the side of the desk, or even behind your monitor if your setup allows. When in use, it doesn't obstruct the monitor, keyboard or mouse and you can genuinely forget it's there while playing. The magnetic cable tidy tray is a nice touch that fits wide cables and makes the overall appearance much neater. Setup is incredibly easy, and the padded clamp is very nice for protecting the desk. Only complaint is that a longer arm could be better for giving more flexibility with where to clamp it on my large desk. It's pricey, but for how neat it looks on the desk, the quality and adjustability and the fact that mic arms basically last forever, I'm very happy with the purchase.

This has to be the best mic arm I have ever used, its designed soooo well its smooth but not so smooth to hinder the use, it has an adjustable butterfly fixing on the joints which allow you to adjust the resistance in the arm joints to your preference from super slick to a velvety resistance so once you have used it a few times it kinda grooves itself so only the parts that need to move move and the rest just stays as is which means you can quickly get it from its resting place and bring it swiftly into position with a confidence and certainty it will remain and not slowly sag like the cheaper ones do. Another nice addition is the magnetic cover that runs over the arms allowing you to neatly tuck cables in there and shut them away, again the covers fit really nice and have a staisfying snap and weight that keeps them in place - the magnetic charge is just enough so it stays but is also easy enough to remove again. In conclusion the whole thing is just well made and well thought out - you can tell that it has been designed with thought and testing not just put together of a blueprint. If you are on the fence get off it and buy this you wont regret it.

Far better for me than a typical boom arm. This sits discreetly out of sight of the camera with just the very top of my (black and therefore almost invisible) microphone showing on calls. It is high enough to allow access underneath whilst being low enough not to obstruct my view of anything. A perfect compromise The cable management is excellent and the arm itself is super sturdy and can be adjusted to be as tight or as loose as required. I have it somewhere in the middle meaning I can move my mic easily but it stays put when moved. Recommended.

I use this with a shure sm7b which is a heavy mic in general but this does hold it up fine (you do have to make it very tight on the arm to hold it though) Very adjustable and it’s overall worth it, you can also hide your cable in the arm however unless you have some cable slack it will keep falling out. My worry was when I first got it I thought if I had it over my keyboard it would hit my hands but it doesn’t if you have it raised slightly. Honestly I would get it as it’s probably the best mic arm out there for the price and probably even better than some of the expensive ones.

Great looking mic arm, albeit too expensive considering the subpar build quality which leads to sagging issues. DESPITE tightening the thumbscrews incredibly tight, the arm still sagged when holding my Rode Procaster & Blue Baby Bottle SL. This was INCREDIBLY frustrating as I would adjust the mic arm and it'd slowly sag over the next few minutes til' it touched my desk. HOWEVER, I read online from other purchasers about a trick to fix it: If your mic arm is sagging after you position it - raise the arm to it's highest point, then slowly bring it back down to where you need it. The arm is unlikely to sag after that (unless you bring it lower and try to push it back up). For the price this is unacceptable, but there isn't another mic arm like this one so you'll have to deal with these pitfalls.

This is one of the most hidden finds ever. It's the OP low profile arms and it should be used for most of the situations. Anyone wants my old overhead mic arm?

These things are a very well made, beautiful bit of gear. Solid metal, and the low profile looks great. I love Rode gear and was going to go with one of their arms but I'm glad I went with these ones. They just look great, function as they are supposed to, and there isn't garish branding plastered all over it. The hidden cable channels function well, and the magnets are very strong. If you need a massive reach these probably aren't the arms for you. But for an everyday setting on a table or a desk or simply podcast setup these are great. This isn't really a con, more of a suggestion. I'd love to see a little clip or cutout on the clamp somewhere to hold the Allen key full time to use for tightening the arms when needed. And I'd also love a little bag to put them in when in transit, so they don't chip or scratch.
