Sharpens knives well, very easy to use, not expensive
I was a bit skeptical initially on how well this gadget can sharpen knives, having used a few cheap ones in the past. However, the seller has a option to return and Kai seems to be a reputed brand for cutting instruments from Japan (www.kai-group.com). They also have a branch in India (www.kaiindia.in). Usually my knives are sharpened on an inexpensive whetstone, with the correct technique it gets sharp but as a novice, I've never gotten a razor sharp edge. Today when I tested this product (AP-0308), it sharpened the edge much better that what I normally get and it's as sharp as a fresh boxcutter blade. It was tested against cardboard and paper. It was also very quick, took about 5 minutes (2 pulls on the diamond #1, 5 pulls on the ceramics #2, #3) compared to the whetstone that usually takes me about 15 - 20 minutes. Looking at the label, the overall quality of the packaging and product and also the price of the original listed at the Japanese website (appx INR 1350), I think this is a Genuine Kai sharpener. The price is reasonable IMO especially when you look at how much the good quality sharpening stones sell for. The really cheap stones do work but they're like half the price of this while being relatively harder to use.

Only buy if you want to sharpen Japanese knives
Please note that it Only works effectively for Japanese Knives with a 16 degree cutting edge. Has no effect on other knives probably due to their 25 degree cutting edge. Though it was mentioned in the description I did not understand the significance till I tried to sharpen my knives.

Reall great for thin blade knifes
This product is recommended for thin bladed knifes, some Japanese and chef knifes as well. It's super quick and easy to use, a must have in kitchen. But do not expect a professional top notch sharpness with this. They way this work is, if you have a sharp knife then everyday befor you start in your kitchen, a few strokes on this will keep the sharpness of your blade a little bit longer.

Excellent but bit costly
Product quality is excellent but it is very costly. Other cheaper products are available in the market at 1/6th price. Still I went for it and I have no regrets as it's quality is excellent. I was not sure of the Quality of cheaper products. Let's see how long it goes as no user (or seller) has yet confirmed its longevity. I recommend strongly to prospective buyers if they can afford. Note:-on day 1 itself, I got at least 10 of my cutleries sharpened to my full satisfaction.

Für Kai Tim Mälzer Serie perfekt
Irgendwann wird auch das beste Messer stumpf. Da die Kai Shun Messer aber schon ihren stolzen Preis haben hatte ich Angst es selbst zu schärfen. Allerdings vergeht einem bei einem stumpfen Messer die Freude am schneiden. Also dachte ich mir: dieser Schleifer ist von Kai selbst und hat den Winkel der für die Kai Serie geeignet ist. Im Fachladen wurde ebenfalls dieser Schleifer für mein Messer empfohlen. Im Zweifel dachte ich, könnte ich es immernoch beim Profi korrigieren lassen. Ich bin so happy, dass ich mich getraut habe. Bin genau nach Anweisung vorgegangen und das Messer schneidet wie zuvor! Kein Kratzer am Messer und ab heute wird mein Messer immer scharf sein! Das Preis - Leistungsverhältnis definitiv wert. Wer ein Messer für 200€ hat kann auch für 25€ einen Schleifer kaufen. Als Tipp: achtet auf den Winkel eurer Messer. Nicht alle Messer haben den selben und die Schleifer schleifen mit Winkel. Idiotensicher wenn man den richtigen hat. Dieser hier ist ideal für die Kai Shun Tim Mälzer Serie.

Works well, sharpens my KAI knives!
Works as promised, sharpens my KAI knives like a charm. Easy to use, just slide the knife on the slots. Slot 1 is the diamond sharpener for dull blades, slot 2 is the ceramic to correct the angle and slot 3 is to smoothen, finish the edge. Use the sharpener without water, since it is a dry method sharpening. Directions are in Japanese, but just used Google translate to get it in English. Highly recommended!👍
