Will this fit the Intermatic FF60MHC timer?

Yes, it will fit physically but since the timer does not have an outdoor rating I would have some reservations about using it outside.

I can't open the cover...Is there a trick to this?

Cover lifts off from the bottom. It is a snap-on case and it feels like it will not open, but, in fact, it does. Just tug on it a bit harder.

Item measurements are listed 5.5x4x2.75 . I need the exact outside width of box, I have limited space?

With the lid closed it sticks out from a wall 3". The cover is the largest piece and is 3 7/8" by 5 5/8"

What type of locks, padlocks I can use with this outdoor box ? any specific model advised
